Sesame Street does it again!
This is the perfect gift for parents of toddlers and preschoolers. My 4-yr-old son came from China in May and he already knows all of SS's letters and numbers of the day, and he has learned words and whole phrases from the episodes. Admittedly, he watches these videos over and over (and over and over and over), but they're great educational tools and you don't have to worry about violence, sex, ...

WARNING: the following content contains gratuitous scenes of cookie eating, viewer discretion is advised.
OK, there is some disclaimer at the beginning of this that children these days should not watch this and that it is only meant for adults to reminisce. I assume it is because of cookie monster or something, seems silly to me. I watched this with my toddler and I think it's fine. It is certainly more appropriate than junk that teaches kids to dress like hookers (I'm looking at you, Bratz). I ...

Great
I was so glad I found sing yourself silly. As my niece is getting ready for college, I had to buy this for her and my sister. Many, many days long ago were filled with honker ducky dinger jamboree, jelly man kelly, and my personal favorite, put down the ducky. It was amazing that when we watched it for the first time in at least 15 years, we could all still remember the words. This is one of the ...

Only time will tell
The main points are that this video discusses the concept of going from needing your parents help to do lots of things, especially changing a diaper- to being a "big kid" and being able to do things on your own, like eating and walking and using the bathroom. It puts emphasis on recognizing your body's internal cues for hunger, thirst, and to use the bathroom. It also stresses proper hygiene ...

a piece of history
I purchased this video for my nephew after his first birthday. Neither of us can get enough of it and I can't tell who is more excited when I'm babysitting to watch this video. The final song, a unique version of "Sing" with Ladysmith Black Mambazo is so sweet it nearly makes me cry every time.

Terrific DVD - my son adores it
My 2 1/2 year old son loves the beach and all he wants to watch now that he has this DVD is "Elmo at the Beach!" He also likes the camera portion and has requested it specifically on occasion - "Elmo - Camera!" He doesn't like the middle episode (skin) quite as much but it does have some educational qualities.

Psychedelic insanity from the 1970s
Like most Americans of my age, I grew up watching Sesame Street. It was considered a new invention to give children some rudimentary education and teach them something about the world while they moppeted and gamboled around the house doing kids stuff. Looking back at these videos, most of which I remembered very clearly when I watched them again as an adult, I wonder what these people did to my ...

My kids love it!
My kids (3 and 1 and a half) love Sesame Street's Count on Me 123 video. They were a little younger when I first bought it and while the storyline (Ernie finds a 'Furry Arms' room key on the street, returns it to the hotel & starts teaching everyone how to count) went over their heads at first, the catchy tunes, skits & scenes (mainly from the early Sesame Street episodes) soon caught their ...

My daugther loves watching Elmo
From 6 months to now (28 months), she still loves to watch and dance with it. Zoe & Paula Abdul make up 6 dance moves with the kids. My daugther's favorite is the Chinese dance. She waves with sticks in her hands and follow the beat. For the Elmosize, the whole family work out in front of the TV... so funny.

Both discs are great
These are both great DVDs. It's a bargain. Silly Songs is a fun collection with many gems. The extended Put down the Ducky is the big closer but the whole DVD is mostly A grade with maybe one A- and one B- among selections. (no grade inflation) Elmo's adventure is Peter & the Woolf at the Boston Pops within a story about music & cooperation. Hats off to the crew for making the ...

VERY FUNNY FOR KIDS AND GROWNUPS ALIKE
Grover is at his best in this hysterical video. With his typical humor, he teaches us how to eat more wisely. There are alot of great inside jokes for the parents, too. The "Planet Storybook" restaurant he works on is a funny spoof of "Planet Hollywood", complete with memorabelia (from stories, of course). My 2 1/2 year old loves this video, and has learned alot from it. I bought it for her ...

Baby loves it and so does dad
Elmo is very funny. Baby loves it and I have to say that Elmo character makes some comments and jokes that only an adult would understand. I find him very entertaining compared to Barney and Tellitubies. I would pick watching Elmo anyday over the other children DVDs.
Abby in Wonderland

Sesame Street, 2008
Sesame Street's newest muppet, fairy Abby Cadabby, falls asleep and follows a Red Rabbit (Elmo) down a rabbit hole and in to a "Wonderland," where she encounters quirky and whimsical characters including Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum (Bert and Ernie) and The Cheshire Cookie Cat. She also attends a silly tea party presided over by a Mad Hatter (Grover) who also can be a "sad" hatter or a "glad" hatter with the change of a hat. Will Abby find her ...

Eases children's fears of the doctor
This Elmo dvd is awesome! Both of my twin nieces have each had a scary medical experience that required an ER trip. I got them this dvd right away and they LOVE it! It has really helped them, anxiety-wise, and one of the girls is now completely obsessed with her toy doctor's kit! Coming from a doctor's family - and having been a very sick child myself - I have to say that I'm very pleased with ...

Classic old-school Sesame Street
First off, viewers must be aware that this is Sesame Street from the 1970's. Many of your child's favorite characters weren't "born" yet. Also, remember that back then Sesame Street was a little edgier in that Oscar was seemingly being a little mean to Big Bird, teasing him about Santa Claus and how no one would get presents. He also didn't hesitate to talk about Santa's weight in a not very ...
