Surprisingly fantastic!
Some of you may remember the preview for this movie being something like this: "From the creators of Shrek--- fart jokes!" I thought I would hate this movie. I was absolutely wrong. It's deep. It's emotional. It's entertaining for all ages, has beautiful art, animation and design, great music, and a profound message. Why can't more movies be like this?

Indulge in this!
Ever After - A Cinderella Story is a sweet period piece starring Drew Barrymore. I saw this movie in the theatre when it was released in 1998 and I loved every minute of it. Barrymore brings warmth and sensitivity to the role and Anjelica Huston is just plain nasty as her wicked stepmother (just how I like a villian to be played). This Cinderella Story has a little bit of a twist, I highly ...

Fascinating
"Hiroshima" is a fascinating, factual portrayal of the events surrounding the conclusion of World War II. The inter-mixing of documentary and historically accurate drama was exceptionally well done, and it is obvious that the producers of this project took great lengths to not only be historically accurate, but to be as unbiased and neutral as possible.

An Awesome Sequal
I have to start this by saying that I am usually not a fan of sequals, but 102 Dalmatians is definitely an exception. I am happy that it is being released again as it is one of my favorite movies. Most reviews tend to have no-name actors who you might seeing doing a TV commercial, but this has a great cast including Glenn Close, Ioan Gruffudd, Tom McInnerney, Ian Richardson, Eric Idle (as a ...

Discovering A Three-Hour Oscar-Worthy Epic : Five Stars
One of the greatest motion pictures of all time. Luc Besson achieved directorial greatness more than once, but this film is the peak of his creative vision and success. Casting Ukrainian supermodel Milla Jovovich was a controversial idea at the time, but Besson managed to extract a nuanced performance from her - a feat, considering she is in virtually every frame of this 3-hour epic. To me, ...

No One Tells it Like Simon Schama
There is no one quite like Simon Schama. He makes the history of Britain coherent, understandable, and unique, and he has the ability to help the viewer comprehend the great achievements of Britain while being honest, humorous, informative, clear and articulate in the presentation. His stories and visuals are very well chosen. He is one of only a few presenters of history in video - Bronowski ...

He ate all my sturgeon, clever man...
This film on Russian history is everything Zhivago is not - it's good. Though it takes the Lean-esque line of poetic cuts to meld the story together, it does it in a far subtler, less "here's another clever cut for you audience" fashion. Young's cinematography dwarfs what he was not able to do in Zhivago (because Lean wanted his film to be deliberately ugly) and there is a far more Russian feel ...

Somber mood setting, espiniage drama.
Two close boyhood friends grow up and apart. One gets hired at a government agency that is responsible for encryption technology. The other turns into a smalltime hood, drug addict. Disillusioned with his work and life, one begins to sell government secrets to the soviets via his drug addicted friend. The story gets interesting as the drug addicted friend self destructs. Two Stories Stories for the Price of One, PLUS Great Production
Preface: Although I have previously reviewed BBC's "The Chronicles of Narnia" as a series (sometime ago now), I will still be reviewing each installment individually, in order to give them all the detailed, and attentive critique they deserve. Part 2: Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. With this second installment, a joint dramatization of two more of the seven chronicles, we gt ...

Awesome Horror
This movie scared me so much that I had to sleep with the light on. The story is excellent from beginning to end and moves so fast that there was no time to take a breath. The clowns are beyond creepy. What awesome cinematography and direction. The acting is great too. This is by far one of the best horror movies ever made.

The Gift of Love
The title says it all, because I really love this movie. Marie Osmond and Tomothy Bottoms give a really great and believable, yet entertaining performance in this warm hearted, charming and romantic story. I really loved some of the dresses that Marie wore in the film. They were beautiful and elegant. I loved this movie when it first was shown on tv, and still love it today. This movie continues ...

Dalmatian Serration (attempted)
The saga of 101 spotted pups abducted by a omnivorous fashion maven after their pelts. In classic Disney fashion, exquisite animation, infectious music, endearing characters, and a gory storyline are melded into a truly hypnotic tale. This movie operates on a deep personal level for me as arch-villainess Cruella De Vil is almost certainly based upon my ex-wife. Not only is her lust for the ...

Great movie.
My Grandma gave this movie to me and I really wanted to see it. I watched it and it was great. Cruella just gets released from jail and she tries to be nice because she dosen't want to go to jail again. Eventually she becomes mean and tries to kills the puppies once again. They end up at a cake factory and they cook Cruella. I enjoyed watching this movie. I think anyone should get it. A great ...

Fantastic!
Snooty, elitist snobs can say that this is a "butchered" version. One reviewer said NO version did the legends justice. That's ridiculous. Have you people not heard of entertainment for entertainment's sake? Every movie doesn't have to be an Oscar or Emmy contender. I loved the cast, loved the storytelling...even the special effects were less cheesey than the normal made-for-TV fare. I loved it!
