How to Deal / A Walk to Remember
Philip Akin, Mackenzie Astin

Warner Home Video, 2005

Teen idol Mandy Moore learns how to deal with an awful lot-- How to Deal crams divorce, teen pregnancy, a wedding, a car accident, and a pot-smoking grandmother into a single year in the life of Halley Martin (Moore). Halley's so resentful of her parents' divorce (and her father's impending remarriage) that she resolves not to fall in love--so of course a hunky guy named Macon (Trent Ford) decides that she's the girl for him and woos her with ...

Great love story!!!!
WOW!! This movie had me with tears coming down my eyes! I highly recommend the move. I borrowed it from my aunt and WOW! If you want a great love story taking place in the early time of history its wonderful. For any hopless romantic. I say it has a bit of Titanic and Tuck EverLasting w/ Edward scissorhands! If you like those movies this is the one for you!

One of the few movies worth watching these days
My husband and I sat down to watch this movie, as it came highly recommended by a friend. We both we are little unsure when we read about it, but decided to give it a chance. He is a much tougher critic than I - but we both really enjoyed it. My husband had nothing but good things to say about it (and never said he thought it was a chick flick as it had been called in another review ...

Great!
I won't get into all the details about the plot as many who have posted already have, but I found this movie interesting from beginning to end. I didn't find there to be many 'slow' points as it was all to me just the telling of the story, and what a story! Hayden was incredible in this role, excellent acting on his part. It was also nice to finally see Jessica Alba in a role somewhat different ...

Fantastic!
Snooty, elitist snobs can say that this is a "butchered" version. One reviewer said NO version did the legends justice. That's ridiculous. Have you people not heard of entertainment for entertainment's sake? Every movie doesn't have to be an Oscar or Emmy contender. I loved the cast, loved the storytelling...even the special effects were less cheesey than the normal made-for-TV fare. I loved it!

A Nutritious Cream Puff of a Movie...
2 Words = 5 Stars The two words are: Jane McGregor. That's all you need to read, hear, and see. She's charming, vulnerable, and in control. It's not easy finding an actress that can be beautiful, classy, AND funny. You have to travel back to the golden age of movies to find that - Audrey Hepburn, Judy Garland, etc. This comedy is light, carefree, and has a powerful theme that all people ...

Gosford Park408 reviews
Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon

Commentary by Julian Fellowes is most enjoyable!
I'm glad this DVD belongs to me for I will watch it many times. The music is lovely and Jeremy Northam and Clive Owen are easy on the eyes. Julian Fellowes has an excellent commentary explaining the aristocracy and the servant class which made the story-line all the more understandable and therefore more enjoyable. Thank you, Julian Fellowes!

DYNAMITE! An indictment against organised religion at it's WORST!
I've been studying this incident for meny years, and having just seen SEPTEMBER DAWN, it rekindled my dislike and mistrust for organized religion, especially these loonies! The LDS church has NEVER come close to admitting even knowledge of the incident, much less full-blown blame for it. Brigham Young not only knew about it; he ORDERED it, just as portrayed in the film. I'm sure the Mormons are ...

Murder by Invitation
The young `uns try to convince the court that Aunt Cassie (Sarah Padden) is mentally incompetent so they can get their greedy paws on her $3 million. They fail, and Aunt Cassie invites them to her estate so that she can "study them like rats" and see who deserves to inherit her fortune. They get there, promptly at midnight, and soon begin dropping like ten pins. MURDER BY INVITATION is NOT a ...
