Proving they still had it....
I'm kinda surprised at all of the negative reviews here. I had been staying away from this film because of the negative reviews and the low price which is usually an indicator of quality of the work. Don't miss this one!! For review reference, I personally think Sons of the Desert is the boys best film, I did not find Pardon Us or Flying Dueces too funny, but I thought Utopia was hilarious ...

Better Than I Expected
Everything the other reviewers have said is true, so there's not too much to add. I will say, however, that I was impressed with the sets and costumes, which were far more sumptuous (albeit tacky) than I had expected. And Loren and Maxwell (what bizarre casting!) are fabulous lip-synchers and throw themselves into their roles with passion and tremendous energy. Unlike the supremely wooden ...

Fantastic movie!
I admit that after reading Grave's "I Claudius" and "Claudius the God", the notion of Emperor Claudius merely acting out his stupidity as to survive the intrigues of his evil family seemed plausible. Oh boy, was I mislead! Caligula II made me realize that the ancient historians might have been right all along. Poor uncle Cla-Cla-Claudius was portrayed fantastically and the ever-whining ...

Edwige who?
Ok, I admit it, I got this movie based on one of the reviews here. Hey if it's something anyone who has heard of Edwige Fenech must have means it's gotta be pretty good, right? I wish. There were a few decent nude scenes, but I've seen better from the first Poliece Academy. And there's not much to see there. After seeing this you'll wonder why anyone would want to know the name Edwige Fenech. ...

Great movie...
Great, political Godard film. People need to think about the economic issues it deals with, especially in these days of an essentially oligarchical america. But whatever your politics, it is an excellent film.

An expectedly superb spy spoof
This is a gimmick film, but unlike many such movies it manages to avoid the pitfalls of not moving beyond the initial joke. Francois Merlin is a spy novelist, and uses people and events in his life as fodder for his stories, but also as a means of gaining control of a fictional life that supplants in many ways his actual life. If one thought of it as a French version of "The Secret Life of ...

DUBBED...
I have always enjoyed Nino Manfredi, especially in Bread and Chocolate, I missed Cafe Express in the theatres, then moved to NH and was waiting for it to be released someday on DVD, that day came but I was disappointed in the technical quality of the film and the dubbing of Manfredi's voice

Strange fish of a movie
What a wonderful cast of actors (good grief: even the son of the director, Joe Dassin , later known as a very popular singer in France, has a small part..)and what strange going-ons in this plot involving the games of power in a (otherwise lovely and peaceful) Italian fisherman's village. It is corny at time , gripping at others, with beautiful camera shots and a never flagging smoldering ...
