MUST SHARE THIS ONE -READ KILLER ANGELS FIRST
Gettysburg was made after Michael Shaara, the author, passed away. He was not there to see his novel Killer Angel's made into this award winning movie. Jeff Daniels was so realistic as Joshua Chamberlain, you felt like you knew him and felt the weight of his decisions, the heat and humidity of the day, the dispair when his soldiers were killed, and his joy when they had a victory. I understand ...

Great and goofy '80s fun, but the hyper girl deserved more credit
A fifteen year old gets snapped up for a college scholarship in a physics program. Along the way, he meets a girl who never sleeps, a suck-up nerd, the last child protegy that had cracked under the stress, a nerd who's moved past the intensity and back into having fun, and a professor who is deep in the pockets of the DoD. When he and his friends realize the laser project they're working on is ...

GREAT FUN
I loved THE 10TH KINGDOM when it first aired back at the turn of the millenium, and wondered why others didn't seem to get it. The fact that it had John Larroquette, Rutger Hauer, Diane Wiest,Camryn Manheim, Ed O'Neill, Ann Margaret, Kimberly Williams ( at her most winsome ), and a hilarious Scott Cohen, should have made it a 'must see,' but that didn't happen. This six hour epic fantasy has it ...

A great metaphor!
One of the movies I recommend in my practice as family therapist, whenever suits. Great also as entertainment, leaving the subconcious mind does the work to suggest other ways to see life - to live life. Berenice de Lara, Family Therapist

A MONOLITH OF A MOVIE!
This is not just a movie. This is a mind-altering experience. I saw 2001 as a fifteen year old when it was re-released in the winter of '76 and I remember leaving the theater not quite sure what to think of it but convinced it would have a tremendous impact on my life. And, indeed, as with the reappearing monolith, each time I watch the film (unfortunately, not in the spacious, magical dark of ...

Stirring story of Independence
William Daniels (the voice of the talking car on "Night Rider") stars as John Adams in this rousing musical recreation of the weeks leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Adams is considered obnoxious and unlikable by all the other delegates of the Continental Congress, so his plea for independence falls on deaf ears. He finally wins most of the southern states to his ...

Loved it as a kid...
I have been collecting movies that I loved as a kid. My Uncle sent me a copy of little monsters on VHS when I was about...12? I absolutely loved it and watched it so often the tape itself was starting to showing wear (plus I could do everyone's lines). Unfortuately someone permanently borrowed it (or maybe my parents trashed it) but in browsing Amazon I found it again so getting another copy ...

Civil War Buff
This DVD has two Stories of the men in the Civil War with empahasis on two in particular: Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain who led a regiment of Maine soldiers for the Union, and Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson. Chamberlain would survive the War a Hero, while jackson probably the most famous and Heroic of the Confederate generals besides R.E. Lee, did not. These movies try to put a softer face on a ...

Simply Amazing!
You will never watch the non extended version of the films again once you own the ultimate editions. The uncut scenes fill in so much of the story that was in the books. The picture quality on blue ray is stunning. The bonus materials are fascinating for Harry Potter fans. The books included are beautiful. Simply amazing sets! It is a cherished item in my movie and Harry Potter collections.

"I'm so happy, I'm so happy, I love you...Find us a big bed!"
Ever wonder what became of Audrey Hepburn's romantic heroines, in for example "Sabrina", "Funny Face" or "Breakfast at Tiffany's", once the movie ended and they were on their way to "happily ever after"? If so, then you definitely want to view "Two for the Road", which takes her character Joanna Wallace past the charming courtship, the blissful falling in love, and into the marriage itself over ...

this is SUCH a great movie! i just kept renting it and borrowing it form people and finally decided that it is worth just buying my own copy! it has just enough action and adventure to keep your attention, with an underlying love story, and lots of humor throughout, even though the main plot is a serious one. i always recommend the widescreen version of a movie to get the full artistic effect ...

For Pete's sake why do good movies go out of print? Who's Pete?
I am writing this review because I am shocked. I am shocked because I see a caption from some moronic half-critic saying that this movie is bad. They also drew up a comparison with "the Color of Money(hello: lame!)" and the other 2 movies that Farrelly brothers made before and after this one and made it seem that this one is the lesser. I am guessing that this person liked Top Gun and didn't ...

Oldie, but Goodie.
I saw "The Graduate" when it first came out in 1967. It was a wonderful movie and one of the first for Mike Nichols and Dustin Hoffman. Plus, it had the wonderful musical contribution of Simon and Garfunkle. Altogether, first rate! Well, I thought of it now and then when I heard the S & G songs on the radio, but that was about it. In any case, my wife and I were shopping at Ross and I spotted it ...
