Good interlude before Dark Knight
Batman, Gotham Knight was supposed to fill in the spots left between Batman begins and the Dark Knight movie released on July 18. It is a multi-part tale of stories deplicting Bruce Wayne and his alter-ego, the Batman, as he deals with his struggle to get some kind of balance in his new life. The first tale, 'Have I Got a Story for you', is 4 teens and their experience of watching Batman take ...

Great Movie
I have seen the movie. This one is WAY better than the Ark of Truth. Maybe I was just sick of the Ori, but Continuum flows better, there are fewer holes, and it doesn't build up for 1.5 hours just to end in 5 minutes. Absolutely worth buying! The worst thing about the movie is that Jack is getting fat. I know, doesn't really have much to do with the movie per se, but it was depressing ...

The Ultimate Godzilla Genre Film
Feel good films are about feeling good, and feel bad films are about feeling bad. Cloverfield's nausea inducing amateur camera perspective succeeds brilliantly both as a Shakespearean mood device and Hitchcockian suspense device that sets the viewer quite ill at ease, complementing and heightening the horror of the circumstances, and making the viewer feel badly. The shaking, slanted, ...

A movie that plays with all your expectations and perceptions
This is a movie that plays with your perceptions and expectations. William Hurt plays the President of the United States in a time of Global Terror. He attends a conference in Spain and is shot. Dennis Quaid plays Thomas Barnes, a Secret Service Agent who is brought back for this event after being shot and nearly losing his life a year earlier. The first half of the movie shows us the ...

The Bucket List
The Bucket List My husband and I are in our 60s...we are losing many of our friends and family members at this time in our lives. We found this movie very funny, thought provoking and at times very emotionally moving.... Loved it and would recommend to any young adults as well as "vintage" folks. Goldfish-still swimming

Good movie
Echoing some of the other reviews, it was a good movie and worth a watch (especially on my 52" Sony with 7.1 surround). It wasn't great by any means, but it was visually and audibly entertaining.

Great blu-ray combo / Great family fun
I was so excited to get this combo and getting it on blu-ray was fantastic. It really seems to make the movies come alive. I bought the second movie without having seen it previously, and I am so thankful I did. The price was also great (I purchased as a pre-order). If you liked the first one, you will enjoy the second one as well.

Firefly is THE best TV series ever. The characters are wonderful, the ship is realistic, the world is fantastic. Whoever cancelled this show after only one season should be fired!

A MUST See Movie for Any Age!
This movie is colorful, fun, suspenseful and funny! Any adult may think it is only for kids, but you are wrong. You will 'laugh out loud' with this movie. It is a keeper for your DVD library! Merna Pocket of Pearls: A 30-day pocket workbook to start hearing a softer voice inside of you!

Fool's Gold
This film left Matthew looking like an idiot just getting a lucky break. It encourages people to forget about the real world and spend their time searching for an unattainable. Kate Hudson played the smart one and only one able to have a serious thought and it took her knowledge to get her where they needed to go.

If You Can, Skip the "Deluxe Edition"'s 2nd Disc
"Batman Begins" is a five-star film. Don't forget it. But the 2nd disc, packaged only with the "Deluxe Edition," is one of the most underwhelming "bonus" discs ever sold. Yes, Christian Bale's transformation into Batman is amazing, but he merely talks about it--we don't see much of his grueling eating and workout habits. There's some insight into the director and screenwriter's collaboration, but ...

This is Robin's Brain
This is as close as we'll ever come to seeing the inside of Robin Williams' brain. They called him in, and as he started to riff, they added more and more animators and essentially drew his creative process. I think he did something like 40 something characters as the genie, including William F. Buckley Jr. and Jack Nicholson. Even if you're not a fan of animation, strap in and take the ride. You ...

Hellboy for Earth
News flash! The Nazis tried to open up hell! And that's just for starters! What determines a man? That is the question posed at the beginning and the ending of this fun flick steeped in horror and sci-fi and poured out as a quaffable entertainment. I was pleasantly surprised. Ron Perlman glows as Hellboy, aptly named as the only thing to survive the explosion to close the gate to Hell. ...

A boat load of strange
This movie is quite possibly the strangest one I've ever seen. I had no idea what it was about before I rented it and just got it because Will Smith was in the movie. About the movie: Scientific testing supposedly cured 10,009 people of cancer. However, something in that medicine had a negative affect on these people afterwards. People started acting more like animals, killing and abusing each ...

Much better to watch at home
i saw jumper in the theater and it was fun, so i got the dvd. the effects of jumping from place to place became disorienting on the big screen - this was much more enjoyable watching on a home video setup (large screen though it may be). the scenery is great. maui, rome, egypt, london, new york - what a world. to be able to be anywhere anytime - brilliant.

From the ashes of disaster...
I have to come down on the side of those who love this movie. Yes, there is violence, there is racism, there is drug use, and there is LANGUAGE, but honestly, these guys are not Smurfs. They're hired killers for cryin' out loud. Two assassins are hiding out in Bruges on the orders of of their boss. They've just killed a priest and quite by accident have also killed a young boy in prayer. That ...
