Second best by Pixar
Sorry Nemo, but Toy Story is still my favorite, although this comes extremely close. This movie is great for all ages and a must have for families.

For All Princesses Everywhere
Everyone knows the story of Cinderella; her story is perhaps the most well-loved princess story of all time. At three years old, my young daughter is enamored of all things princess, and Cinderella is clearly the most beloved princess of all. We recently were lucky enough to take a fabulous Disney cruise. When my daughter actually got to meet Cinderella, to hug her and to talk to her, she was ...

ANIMATION AT THE LEVEL OF A WORK OF ART
Possibly the 2007 film that is closest to perfection is Pixar's "Ratatouille", an animated comedy that seems to focus on the story of a rat named Remy who has a sense of smell and a great talent for the culinary arts, and who becomes a secret chef at a French restaurant, managing to be a hit to the gourmets who don't know their chef is a rodent. But something magical happens about half way ...

one last look
David Attenborough's narration is much better than Sigourney Weaver's, so make sure if you click the buy button for this much played on TV series that you get the rich, satisfying British voice. Can't top Sir David's style. This gorgeous portrait of our planet Earth leaves all viewers in wonder and awe of our seemingly unique, one of a kind world. The vast topographies of continents and rich ...

A great Blu-ray disc with which to start a new Blu-ray disc collection. Can't wait to see the Black Knight when it comes out later (probably around X-mas).

Delightful yet amazingly faithful!
With deep foreboding, I walked into this movie braced for second rate animation (at least compared to Pixar), endless fights between cartoons (as in the CGI "Clone Wars"), and a cultural sensitivity that was either painfully preachy (like "Mulan") or outright insulting (like "Aladdin"). At first, my dread seemed confirmed. Poor Dustin Hoffman mangles Chinese names without mercy - so much so ...

Skadoosh!
I was on a long flight back from California when I had the choice between watching Kung Fu Panda on a tiny television screen four feet away from me, or read the SkyMall catalog. I wisely chose to watch Kung Fu Panda. I was curious as to how Kung Fu Panda would present itself: as a Lion King-style retelling of ancient Chinese myth, or as a love note to kung fu films from an American ...

Very Enjoyable
I have to admit, being a veteran of waaaaay too many children's flicks, especially those with animals, I was expecting the worst from this film. But, being a good dad, I sat down with my children and hit play. And I loved Firehouse Dog! Firehouse Dog is the story of a fireman father and his son, Connor and Shane Fahey (played by Bruce Greenwood and Josh Hutcherson), who have a relationship on ...

Carmen's movie
The first time my Carmen saw this movie she was mesmerized, just like I remember seeing it for the first time. She loves Jimminie Cricket. This was one of my own mother's favorite movie, and she is named after my mom, and to see her little face light up, that was a real treasure and treat.

Are You Ready to Go Back Into the Water?
In 1975, a young up and coming director named Steven Spielberg (Duel and The Sugarland Express) became America's premier filmmaker with his motion picture adaptation of Peter Benchley's novel, Jaws. Upon its theatrical release Jaws quickly became a cultural phenomenon, embraced by critics and audiences alike. It's hard to believe, but it's been over thirty years since the film debuted and Jaws ...

Kung Fu Panda is Awsome!!! Plain and Simple!
Kung Fu Panda is one of the greatest CGI animated movies that has ever been created. The movie has lots of action and humor, plus there is many memorable and likable characters. Po the panda (voiced by Jack Black), is just downright funny and entertaining. The other characters are also very amusing and are fun to watch. Do you want my opinion? Then buy this movie when it is released. Its a ...

Princess Mononoke
Everyone should be able to view Hayao Miyazaki animation. This film is no exception. You must see these films more than once. Put the setup in Japanese and English subtitles to get a better effect. Watch the films once for the story and then for the background animation. Superb!!!! I can't wait for Studio Ghibli's next film to come to the U.S.. It is currently showing in Japan.

My absolute favorite movie EVER!
For mindless entertainment I love to watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail. There is no rhyme or reason to the movie, just a bunch of people doing stupid stuff and making it hilarious. There's no need for neverending flatulance jokes (which is overplayed in almost every comedy of today) or a need to make fun of different races and cultures just to get a cheap laugh. What it is is pure ...

Listen to Peter Ustinov!
My kids and I find the movie very entertaining and charming -- 3-year-old Martin wants this movie and only this movie no matter the myriad alternatives we offer. I remember growing up with the soundtrack playing all the time on LP, so I have a fond place in my heart for it. But, having seen it more time than I care to count, I still cannot get enough of Peter Ustinov's voice ...
