Fun movie of a bygone era
In the 1920's the best football games were found on college campuses. In this movie, George Clooney's character is an aging football player who is trying to put pro football on the map. He pirates a popular war hero turned Princeton football player and suddenly the crowds begin to follow the pro teams. Renee Zellweger is a sassy, saucy girl reporter who catches Clooney's eye, but seems more ...

There Will Be Greed
Director Paul Thomas Anderson ("Magnolia") achieves something very rare in films, he manages to create a really extraordinary film whose main character Daniel Plainview played by Daniel Day-Lewis ("My Left Foot") is for the most part reprehensible. With the exception of rare moments of affection for his deaf son, whose deafness is caused by an accident at his father's oil wells, Plainview cares ...

Braveheart Review
After watching the movie, I became totally interesting in learning the history of William Wallace. I enjoy watching this movie so much. Mel Gibson did an excellent job in protraying William Wallace. This movie capture the reality between the warfare of England against the Scottland country. This movie can enrich the mind with a different aspect of warfare between this two remarkable nation. There ...

Excellent!
This is such a great show! Clever and witty and rather short. You can easily watch episode after episode and never get tired of it! I highly recommend the DVD set also. It's much cheaper than most series DVDs but is worth every penny! I wish this show had kept going!

One day leads to others...
Amy Adams. Angelina Joli. Sarah Jessica Parker. Frances McDormand. Odd, huh? Three younger beauties who can act. One maturing woman, not-so-beautiful, can stand equally with them. Star power? Inner beauty? Confidence? Frances McDormand has It which others can see. "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day" is a fine vehicle for our Frances. She plays the low-key Miss Pettigrew, freshly out of a job, ...

Sorry Nemo, but Toy Story is still my favorite, although this comes extremely close. This movie is great for all ages and a must have for families.

An overrated sensitive urban fable but also a tough gaze about the demolished affective adult relationships !
At first sight it would seem we are in front an amusing portrait about an irreverent girl who has been pregnant by his immature boyfriend a teenager who is really much more worried about a competence, absolutely unaware about the next role he should keep in mind in the next months to come. On the other hand the stoic attitude of this smart little woman about the way she regards the ...

Best Movie On Racism
American History X doesn't use the same broad elements that many films of this kind often do. It doesn't "preach to the converted". It goes into some of the main reasons for prejudice. It doesn't ignore the fact that affirmative action has given us some bad side-effects. It doesn't ignore that black people too, can be racist. It doesn't ignore statistics. It puts all these points out there, ...

Deserves an Academy Award (or several!)
In Bruges is probably this year's most under-rated film. Although humorous at times, this is a serious film of a developing friendship, a budding romance, and tragedy. The actors are superb and the location is perfect. A real 'must see' movie and deserving of an Academy Award (or several).

Completely unforgettable - will charm your heart
This trilogy on DVD is a blessing from lugging around 9 VHS tapes for years! Since my childhood, Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea have been among my all time favorite movies - nothing will ever be quite like them. The Canadian locations are gorgeous, the costuming and script superb, and the actors will make you laugh and cry each time you watch it. Thankfully the movies are based ...

One of the all time great films. Although it was made over fifty years ago, it stands up just as well today. Equally enjoyable for children and adults. Excellent cinematography. Charming.

Enough has been said but....
There have been so many reviews of this movie I will limit my comment to state my sheer amazement after reading the 1 STAR reviews ... It is beyond comprehension this brilliant piece of artistry can be rated below 3 STARS by anyone.... In my mind it is one of the most socio-realistic screen plays that have ever come out of Hollywood - not due to the (perhaps overly) tragicomic ...

A BITTERSWEET ROMANCE, MAGNIFICENTLY MADE
More than one of the great romantic films of all time, "Atonement" is a pure masterpiece utilizing a three-act structure spanning several decades that begins in an English manor house before World War II and proceeds through the war and after. The main character is a 13-year-old fledgling writer, Briony, whose imaginative sensibilities congeal with her infatuation with a man who loves her ...

Can ya feel me!!!
On another film I reviewed on Amazon, I said that I only follow directors and not actors. Here, I'll make two strong exceptions. But, first let me digress a moment to applaud Mr. Scott for yet another great film. There are directors who I look upon as the infrastructure--the superhighways--on today's movie landscape. Spielberg, Cameron, Scorsese, Scott (Tony), Lynne, Tarantino, Greengrass, Nolan, ...

Superbly-acted, -produced and -directed film!
What a fantastic, thought-provoking movie this was! I was half expecting it to be dark and gloomy. I mean, the premise of having private citizens' privacy invaded is very dark and frighteningly real in today's world; but I love the way the writers and directors were able to inject some lightness (with the Captain's bedroom habits), irony and a great deal of humanity. The ensemble cast members ...
