Extreme Makeover Fitness - Weight Loss Workout for Beginners20 reviews
Stacy Hoffman, Robert K. Maloney

Walt Disney Video, 2004

Great for Beginners or Intermediates!
I think it's an amazing workout(s) for the money! I'm basically a lazy, unmotivated person I hate to admit so I love the option of just clicking on whichever day of the week it is, Monday through Sunday, and they have portions of the approximately 90 minutes of workouts edited for that day which are 35 to 46 minutes each day. They also have time crunch workouts you can do if you have less time ...

Pilates For Beginners30 reviews
Maggie Rhoades

Fantastic Program
I really like this instructor and this DVD has everything I wanted - good, easy to follow instruction, a nice setting, pleasant instructor, effective workouts, easy enough for a beginner but not so easy that I'd be ready something new in a couple weeks. With two levels of routines, a variety of routines of different lengths, and some with hand weights for more challenge, I'll be using this DVD ...

Am Pm Yoga for Beginners

bodywisdom media, inc., 2007

Awsome Yoga DVD, even for guys!
I bought this DVD as a gift for my husband and wasn't sure how he would take to it, but he actually loves it. He has been using it daily for several weeks now and says it's been a great way to start the day. It is very well organized and gives you many choices (10 routines at 15 minutes each). The instructor's voice is very pleasant, and the setting is relaxing (at the beach, you can hear the ...

Yoga For Weight Loss - Beginner & Beyond (2007)42 reviews
Maggie Rhoades

bodywisdom media, 2007

Very Good For Learning and Toning
I really enjoyed this DVD, Maggie is a great instructor with a pleasing demeanor. She leads you through the poses with good detail and reminders of various things to keep in mind while practicing, such as "Inhale as you extend your arms up, exhale as you bring your arms down." There is a nice selection of various poses to practice and I found the resting poses/childs poses relaxing. Follow ...

Ana Brett & Ravi Singh

www.raviana.com, 2005

Awesome
This is my first yoga experience, and I'm addicted. I had a lot of anxiety and needed to lose some weight. I thought I would give it a try. Unlike other workouts where it seems I try to find an excuse not to do it, I actually look forward to fitting this into my schedule. It's been about four weeks now, and I have been so relaxed. It truly has positively affected how I deal with my family ...

Jillian Michaels

Jillian Michaels, 2007

Great!!
This is a great workout for people that dont have any idea or have ever worked out, I gave it to my sister, she has very little time to excercise and she has been doing the work out, and she loves it!! It motivates here and even bought the weights to do the video. Even I got a few tips and I am an avid excercise freak (hehe), go ahead and buy it if you are new to this or some one you now its a ...

10 Minute Solution - Target Toning for Beginners36 reviews
Cindy Whitmarsh

Starz / Anchor Bay, 2004

Use it nightly (when I'm not too lazy); it's the best!
I originally previewed a ton of exercise DVDs by renting them from NetFlix. I figured that it would be cheaper to rent them than to buy them, only to find out they weren't what I wanted. This one's the one I purchased. I use it all the time. It's fantastic. It got me over the chronic pain from sciatica that I've had for 30 years. Nothing else has worked like this: not acupuncture, not other ...

Yoga For Beginners79 reviews
Barbara Benagh

bodywisdom media, inc., 2006

my favorite by far
I had taken some yoga classes at the gym before but sometimes it was too challenging. Barbara takes you through a good pace with room for progression, so this DVD can last you a long time before moving on to something more advanced. The poses are challenging but not impossible, making me feel motivated to keep using this DVD. I like how you can choose the workouts to last from 20-70 minutes, so I ...

Element: Yoga for Beginners63 reviews
Elena Brower

ANCHOR BAY, 2007

Excellent practice for beginners with some knowledge of poses and alignment
I was pleasantly surprised by this DVD. Based on some of the reviews I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. It's a mildly challenging workout with a good vinayasa sequence and focuses on lots of hip opening poses. Beginners should just go at their own pace. For example, I've been doing Yoga for about three months now and Chaturranga is still a very challenging pose for me. I still ...

Yoga Journal's Yoga for Beginners42 reviews
Patricia Walden

Gaiam, 2002

Fabulous First Yoga DVD
With this DVD, all you need is a mat and a mirror, and you are on your way to a firm foundation in yoga. On the other hand, if you have experience in yoga, this is not the DVD for you. Walden slowly and systematically gets the student into each of the poses, focusing on correct form. I have since taken several "in person" classes, and can honestly say that I learned more from Walden, who is ...

Brooke Siler

ANCHOR BAY, 2008

Perfect Pilates workout for me!
I'm a mother of 4, and this Pilates Weight Loss DVD is the perfect workout to do at home. It's really helping me tone my saggy "muffin-top" waist area, while giving me the total stretching and strengthening I need. The visual demonstrations are very clear, and the detailed verbal instructions give me all the coaching I need to work on improving my pilates technique. This DVD is excellent as ...

ANCHOR BAY, 2008

Nice start for a true beginner
I wanted to start yoga for a while now, but was not sure where to start. I am self conscious about my body image, so taking a class in person was not really something I wanted to do. I have major health issues with my neck and back. I found this video to be easy to follow, understand and do the exercises. Ellen has a relaxing voice, that is clear and she explains each movement in detail. I like ...

Lotte Berk Method For Beginners - Muscle Eats Fat32 reviews
Lotte Berk

Goldhil Home Media, 2003

Wonderful CD
I usually start and stop exercise programs. This CD is different. It only takes about 20-25 minutes. I started doing the exercises 4/29/07 and as of today, I have lost 6 1/2 inches. Because I have seen such a dramatic change, I have kept up with the CD. You can feel the burning in your legs, but it does get easier. I would recommend this CD to anyone.

Very Enjoyable DVD. Great Purchase!
This is a genius way to get beginners into an at home yoga practice. There is no need to immediately twist yourself into a pretzel. Nor do you have to move so slow that you will be bored to tears! After that you move on to more ...

Total Stretch for Beginners with Tamilee54 reviews

Goldhill Home Media, 2001

Easy & extremely effective!
In 1996 I suffered a disabling back injury as a nurse. I used to workout everyday, but after 8 surgeries I was in chronic pain and just barely able to get around inspite of lots of pain meds. I found that my limited mobility caused me to get very stiff and was causing my pain to increase. I tried numerous exercise and stretching videos but they were too difficult for me to use. This is ...

Italian for Beginners49 reviews
Anders W. Berthelsen, Anette Støvelbæk

Walt Disney Video, 2002

They Are Beginning to Discover Love!
"Italian for Beginners" (2000) is a very good and strange movie. When I rented this VHS, I was convinced that I will see a comedy. So the critics said, the advertising and even the reviews in different web pages state it. Well, I disagree. This film is enticing, stirring, endearing... whatever, but comedy? The story is about six people. There is a young pastor stepping into a parish to ...

Shiva Rea

Acacia, 2008

Good Intro to Flow Yoga
I figured this would be a good DVD to start with before I immersed myself into Yoga Shakti. I'm glad I did! I think this is not only a nice introduction to Flow Yoga, but to the instructor herself. I had heard many great reviews about Shiva Rea so I couldn't wait to get my first DVD from her. First of all, she does an excellent job in breaking down the various poses little by little so you are ...
