A Television Landmark
For Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz fans, the 1954-55 season of "I Love Lucy" represents the legendary series at its creative apex. The Hollywood episodes with Harpo Marx, William Holden, Richard Widmark and Hedda Hopper are always worth revisiting. As long as television exists, "I Love Lucy" will remain an integral part of the medium. "The Complete Fourth Season" belongs in everyone's classic DVD ...

Very good film
I remember the first time I watched this film on cinema. A special feeling was inside my heart after watching it, perhaps love, emotion or sadness because of the story. This film was so famous in the 70s not only for the main actress B. Straisand but also for the main song "Evergreen". Don't miss it for your DVD private collection and enjoy it as I do.

Excellent heartwarming film
I am a huge animal lover, but somehow I had never seen this movie. The "Christian the lion" clip really got me interested in that story which led me to this story. This movie was positively fantastic. The storyline was heartwarming in itself, but the landscape was breathtaking. This movie was a real treat and I am sure that I will enjoy watching it again and again.

Quenia is Dynamite!
The samba Quenia Ribeiro teaches us in this sensational DVD was birthed in Salvador, Bahia, and has deep African roots. It has found the perfect interpreter in Quenia, who dances with dazzling speed, strength and control. What Baryshnikov is to ballet, Quenia is to samba. Watch her and be amazed! After Quenia and her Grupo Ribeiro give us a "Welcome," Quenia shows us some "Basic Steps," and ...

a little piece of home
So I am now the proud owner of every single season of Roseanne! I bought the first couple seasons in Germany because I live there and I was getting homesick. As soon as I watched the first season I remembered why I always loved the show.... They remind me of my own family. Well, minus the crappy furniture and high school drop-outs anyway. It is def. the most realistic show I've ever seen. I have ...

Nice to see old Friends!
My favorite of all the sitcoms. I've almost memorized the lines in the old series. This is a lovely update. Not quite as funny as the original, but I'm glad to own it. I'll watch it again and again. Penelope Keith is the best. She once made a show called Spider's Web. It was filmed more like a play than a movie and was very enjoyable. Why isn't it on DVD?

Alyssa's most erotic film!
Embrace of the Vampire is a ultra-sexy thriller that stars Alyssa Milano and Martin Kemp. Despite its stupid performances, the film actually made complete sense, and was sexy non-stop. I recommend this film to any fan of erotica.

Everyone about to give birth get this!
My husband and I watched this video when I was 3 ½ months pregnant and we're so glad we did. This documentary follows real women as they share their experiences with homebirths. Included are lots of interviews with doctors, specialists, midwives, and information about how birthing has changed and moved from homes to hospitals, also the effects of pain medications, and the rise of Caesarean ...

Absolutely Brilliant
Yet another five-star review for a Mira Nair film. It's apparently the only rating I'm able to give her. This is based on a novel that I haven't read yet, although I'm a big fan of the author. The DVD blurb identifies it as an "epic family saga." Yep. It covers a longer time span than the other Mira Nair films I've seen. Brilliant characterizations of its people and its two settings, ...

Welcome to the third world
"Powwow Highway" is a tale of Native American life today, which is very third world. The film is told via the contrasting stories of two Cheyenne men from Lame Deer, Montana. Philbert Bono (Gary Farmer) is a big, gentle soul who trades his homegrown weed for a `war pony', a beat up old rustbucket of a car, to go out on a traditional vision quest. He's going to achieve his medicine by ...

Excellent Set
If you're a fan of the show then you must have this dvd set. The transfer quality is excellent. I have one suggestion though...for some reason they put the Christmas special at the end of the dvd set and it really should be watched after the first dvd so it is in sequence with the series.

In all honesty...
...this is turning into one of my favorite movies... At first, i didn't enjoy it, but then i GOT it...and am falling in love with its style and characters, even though there really is NO good guy in the entire movie. But, in my opinion, this is Woody's BEST PERFORMANCE... He, and Juliette Lewis were made for these roles... The only "downer" is for true Tarantino fans...the "story" is from the ...

Stone's Oscar winner
The controversial filmmaker Oliver Stone copped an Best Director Oscar for his true story about Vietnam veteran Ron Kovic's rebirth as a peace activist. Also Cruise scored an Oscar nod for his fine performance as Kovic and he's ably supported by a fine cast which includes a very young Kyra Sedgwick as his first love, Tom Berenger as a Marine recruiter, and Wilem Dafoe as a fellow parapalegic ...

A Spellbinding Masterpiece
This movie is fantastic in every sense of the word. You get the sense that in real life you can have some financially prosperous families that have some really screwed up offspring. The acting in this film is top notch! Every single person is absolutely believable in this story. Upon watching this film you can really see how someone can be driven to kill and feel vindicated about doing so. ...

A 1958 PLYMOUTH FURY COMES ALIVE
Christine (Special Edition) During post-war, pre-inflation 1957, the Detroit assebly lines were the bread and butter of the American economy. It was a time of cheap Gas, plentiful steel, and an insatiable hunger for the dream-machines that were cranked out by the Big Three, FORD-GENERAL MOTORS-CHRYSLER. John Carpenter, opens the film in are-created Plymouth plant in Detroit, late 1957, where a ...

He doesn't know a word of spanish and forgot to bring his wallet and ID, he's forced to be deported to Mexico as he must find a way to get back to the U.S. even if he has to work for a club owner (Daniel Stern) for money. And the best sitcom in TV history is....
Ahh Roseanne, quite easily the greatest sitcom in TV history (sorry Seinfeld [overrated and repetitive] and move over MASH). For a great many Americans, Roseanne was the ONLY sitcom depicting house life that even remotely approached ringing true. My wife and I are both such big fans that we periodically watch the show from beginning to end (yes, all the episodes), something made easy by the ...

a documentary worth watching
*Born into Brothels* is a documentary worth watching. Zana Briski came to Calcutta to film the Indian women working the "red light district". However, her attention is soon turned to the prostitutes' children living in the brothels. What's special about this documentary is that Briski doesn't just film these children. She decided to give them a skill that they could use in their life. She ...
