Rocket away
Taking a trip into Wes Anderson's head is like going into a parallel universe where most things are the same, but the nature of reality is just slightly warped. And while the world of "Bottle Rocket" -- Anderson's first collaboration with actor Owen Wilson -- is a little rough around the edges, the absurdist crime caper is a jewel. And while it sounds like yet another goofy comedy, Anderson's ...

Great family film
Aladdin is among the Disney greats. A good, clean, yet exciting story for the younger audience and still plenty of hilarious references for the adults. The Platinum Edition has great picture and sound quality to match the magical soundtrack. I highly recommend it for people of all ages!

Why They Should Take Wes Anderson's Money Away
"Rushmore" was my first Wes Anderson film. I fell in love with that movie (I remember noticing about halfway through it that I literally couldn't get the smile off of my face), and I tracked this film down as a result. When I first watched "Bottle Rocket", I thought it was an excellent (hilarious, surprising, brilliant, inspired) film, but one that obviously lacked the polish needed to propel ...

Great documentary!
For anyone who loves the blues this DVD is a must. Taped live at a concert and following the evolution of the blues from days of slavery to the present, the music and performers are terrific. The back stories and rehearsal scenes are as good as the actual performances. Am getting a copy for a Christmas present after seeing it for the first time - can hardly wait to see what the reaction will ...

Silly but Entertaining Soft Porn
Harlots is a typical entry in the Bikini series of soft-core adult flicks; you might have seen it already as Bikini Pirates. (Tricky how they retitle things to get you to buy them twice.) There's no graphic sex here, i.e., no genital close-ups, although it's probably not a film you want to watch with your kid or parents. Plenty of simulated (or maybe not) action, both m/f and f/f, with a little ...

Recreates well the atmosphere of Silk Road life
Having trod many a dusty path across lots of (old quarter) Silk Road cities and landscapes from Middle China to the Middle East, this Hallmark film really (and unexpectedly) receives my 5 stars without hesitation (both for adults'! and children's viewing alike). It primarily conveys to me a genuine feeling of bygone settlements in this vast region (allowing for the romance of storytelling ...

A classic that can never be topped!
What a pleasure to immerse myself in this fantasy classic once more, in all its brilliant Technicolor splendor! Forget CGI, MTV editing, allegedly gritty "realism," bullet time, and all the other superficial tricks used to prop up a basically bad film, because this one has the only truly vital ingredient required: terrific storytelling! And the cast couldn't be better -- especially Sabu, who ...

one of the better Soft Porn Videos
This is one of Soft Porn's that is shown on Cinemax and Showtime now and then. It's one of the better ones that are more than R but not really a X movie. If you like the corny sexy soft stuff you will like this one. It has some nice girl & guy stuff and some girl & girl too. But, as in a R movie you wont see any Pink, penetration, or full frontal male nude either. If your looking for explicit ...

Does have Extras
Just wanted to state this is loaded with extras.. here is a review below of the blu ray version: The Picture Filmed in Technicolor and framed at 1.66:1, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad arrives on Blu-ray disc in a transfer that not only shows the effects of its 50-year-old age, but also exposes some of the inherent limitations of the Technicolor format. Let me first start by saying that Sony's ...

A Child's Bluebird of Happiness
I'm prejudiced about this film, because I saw it as a small child, and was absolutely enchanted. From a child's viewpoint, everything looked magical. I especially loved the fairy, Light, and the Land of the Unborn Children. As a grownup, I can appreciate the slightly tacky, not to mention low-budget, nature of the costumes and settings, but I don't care. I still love it!!! For one thing, the ...

Schlocky Piece of Cinema (In a Good Way)
I saw this movie on VHS years ago and have been waiting for it to show up in DVD format. It is truly so terrible that it is really funny, campy as the day is long and totally tasteless!

"Rub the lamp Alllllaaaaddin....rub the lamp and see!!.......Rub the lamp Alllaaaaaaaaddin, and set the Genie free!!"
I must say, this is my favorite version of Aladdin, much more so than Disney! I find it hard to beleive other reviewers describe this DVD as lame-it has great animation, and a nice twist to the original story! I first saw this back in '93 when it came out on VHS, & now am a proud owner of the DVD version. The story, though only 50 min in duration, starts out with cheery Aladdin wandering ...

Love the Technicolor Queen
This movie is really a classic and besides been from the 1940's they have good special effects. It was a movie i used to watch as child, i used to love all the old classic movies, today is my passion. I loved all the costumes. By the way a clarification on a previous review. Maria Montez was from the Dominican Republic, from the city of Barahona, not from South America. As Dominican ...

it sure isn't beyond the gates of cinemas
well...this film was alright... i had thought the 3rd one was the last one, but hopefully the 4th is better...1st one was the best though..I'm going to give out a spoiler or two though right now, so beware...it does definitely has it downs (the college party scene, the kissy kissy ending, and you might, just might be able to get one jump out of it). However, the good parts of this was...well, ...

Much better than 3 - now can we have a 5th?
This installment was a vast improvement over the third. John Novak is much better in this movie than in the last and I think he was given a better chance to shine here. He is witty and scary, which is what I say about the first Djinn, Andrew Divoff. The plot of this film is much better than the third and I also enjoyed both audio commentaries. Novak is fun and really enjoys this character. ...
