Al Otro Lado6 reviews
Adrian Marquez, Ronny Bandomo Casanova

Uni Cine, 2007

Subtle and very well done
In these days of demonizing outsiders, this beautifully crafted film reminds the viewer that, at the bottom of it all, we are all human beings with the same hopes, fears, needs and desires. I wish this film were required viewing for anyone before they offer their opinion on any aspect of the immigration debate.

A Knight's Tale (Special Edition)348 reviews
Heath Ledger, Rufus Sewell

Sony Pictures, 2002

My lords, my Ladies, and everybody else here ... not sitting on a cushion! ...
Well ... a good seven years has now passed since this film was in the theatres and it holds up just as fine as it did the very first time I saw it. The Reception ... The first and most striking aspect of this film was the amount of antipathy that was generated by Carter Burwell's insightful use of modern music in a period comedy /drama. Unfortunately this created so much backlash, and so ...

Candy22 reviews
Abbie Cornish, Heath Ledger

Velocity / Thinkfilm, 2007

Heath's most underrated performance
This movie is very touching movie about how drugs can affect relationships. I believe it is one of Heath Ledger's greatest works. His performance as Dan is heartbreaking. Every Heath Ledger fan should see this movie. He and Abbie Cornish deserved Oscar nominations for their performances. This movie will make you both cry and laugh as you see Candy/Dan's relationship and addictions progress.

Incredibly entertaining
I had not seen this show before and got it because I think that David Tennant is a terrific actor. The DVD did not disappoint. He is just brilliant in it. It is just a hoot. His asides to the camera are just hilarious. I would strongly recommend this video to anyone who is a David Tennant fan. David Tennant and Peter O'Toole, how can you possibly go wrong?

The Brothers Grimm261 reviews
Roger Ashton-Griffiths, Mackenzie Crook

Miramax, 2005

Good film, but not Gilliam's best
The Brother's Grimm ala Terry Gilliam. Im giving this 5 stars not because its Gilliam's best, but because I really enjoyed Ledger's and Belucci's performances. Gilliam is a real artist in his films, he likes to paint a colorful yet disturbing palette. Munchausen does the same, however, it was not as widely received as this one, which is why I think Grimm gets so much criticism. Some people either ...

Ned Kelly40 reviews
Heath Ledger, Orlando Bloom

Universal Studios, 2004

Ned Kelly
I very much enjoyed this movie starring Heath Ledger who just very recently passed away. It was great to see him in one of the few movies I had not seen before. I really enjoyed the action and enjoyed watching both him and Orlando Bloom. I think others would enjoy this movie also.

Glenn Close, John Malkovich

Warner Home Video, 1997

Beautiful to the eyes yet chilling to the touch; a cinematic masterpiece...
My adoration of period pieces should have brought me to this film a long time ago, truly, but sadly I had never even heard of this movie until 1999 when a certain `Cruel Intentions' blazed its way into my life (I still kick myself for forgetting to include that film in my top ten of `99). After expressing my devotion to the beautifully twisted film my cousin asked me if I had seen the film that ...

An Unfinished Life125 reviews
Robert Redford, Jennifer Lopez

Miramax, 2006

Unfinished Life
What a shame that a movie of this quality is released almost accidentally! Everyone is stellar, but the slow to develop story takes all prizes. No flashy acting or episodes, the drama is a lovely mirror for the quietude and scenic loveliness of Wyoming. A "heartland" story that comes from the heart, and should go to the heart of anyone watching. As always, Morgan Freeman is hauntingly ...

Todo el Poder / La Ley de Herodes (Spanish)1 review
Damián Alcázar, Pedro Armendáriz Jr.

Warner Home Video, 2006

Surprise
I usually don't buy this kind of dvds where they have two movies. Infact I had never done that and when I purchased this one, I really had no choice into purchasing another version but I am glad I did. Ofcourse, I love the film for which I bought this product, but I was surprised I loved the second film it included, and all for a reasonable price. I am glad I made this pruchase. and it arrived ...

Juan Fernandez, Julieta Serrano

Picture This, 2008

Women in Franco's Spain
" A Love to Keep" Women in Franco's Spain Amos Lassen "A Love to Keep" (Picture This Entertainment) is an epic lesbian love story historically set in Fascist Spain--a period of overt homophobia and social oppression. It is the story of Pilar and Elvira and their love which endures during one of the most turbulent historical periods. The film is based on a true story of what two women ...

Summer Storm34 reviews
Robert Stadlober, Kostja Ullmann

Regent, 2006

Saved By The Storm
Despite it being rather unrealistic that one school rowing team in a competition would be entirely gay and out, this film does indeed have it's saving grace in its dealing with the emotions of being a gay youth - denial, coming out, trust and homophobia. The tender moments between beautiful guys will touch ones heart.

Goya's Ghosts31 reviews
Javier Bardem, Natalie Portman

Sony Pictures, 2008

Captivating tale
Centered on the horrid Spanish Inquisition, this story explores the sins of those in power, committed in the name of God. An arrogant priest, Lorenzo played by the talented Javier Bardem, believes torture is the key to bringing society closer to morality. Lorenzo's artist friend, Goya, begs for the priest's help when one of his young models, Inez, is falsely accused and imprisoned for heresy. ...

House Calls13 reviews
Walter Matthau, Glenda Jackson

Universal Studios, 2005

House calls for whoopee
"House Calls" is a delightful romantic comedy that focuses on prevalent social issues. Walter Matthau and Glenda Jackson have a wonderful chemistry together. Art Carney plays to caricature the bumbling bureacrat and surgeon who is director of an unsuccesful hospital. Richard Benjamin, so popular in 1978 when the film was released, was charming as Matthau's foil. Jackson and Matthau first meet ...

Original Soundtrack

Sony International, 2008

The best movie of the year.
I recommend to buy this movie. This movie is about what people would do to get out of there country thinking that by coming here they're going to have a better life. But they're wrong there is nothing better than the families and friends that you have around you than being here in this country were is cold and bitter. The good thing about this movie is that it teach you what you have in your ...

Fantastic!
David Tennant is absolutely fantastic in this film - completely believable and utterly psychotic (in a kind of good way). He exudes a sort of magnetism throughout the film that sends chills up and down your spine! This is definitely a must-see movie for all David Tennant fans!

Casanova's Big Night13 reviews
Bob Hope, Joan Fontaine

Paramount, 2005

What a fun movie!
I loved this movie! Just so much fun. Swashbuckling goodness in a comedy is always a good thing. It was fun to watch Joan Fontaine with a sword. Sets & costumes were excellent, the acting was very good. Loved Bob's humor, always do. I also recommend these other Bob Hope movies: The Princess & The Pirate Monsieur Beaucaire The Road to Rio

Drunken Master99 reviews
Jackie Chan, Siu Tien Yuen

Drunken Master: entertaining and informative
A high school student recommended I check out this dvd to learn a little bit more about Kung Fu. I'm glad I did. As a dance teacher, I enjoyed Jackie Chan's and the other performers' technical skill, strength, style, humor, beauty of motion, and the similarity between this martial art form and dance.
