Best Chinese Langauge DVD I've seen
I've seen several learn Chinese DVD's and this one is one of the best. The mix of speech, song, graphics all came together to keep your attention and educate. This DVD really does it's job. The basis of the DVD is 2D Flash Type animation where the subjects are fairly static but moving through the scene. The colors are bright and there is enough motion and change to keep watchable but not ...

My Favorite Martial Art Movie
This is an awesome movie. The fight scences are some of the best aever made, the costumes are great, and the use of weapons are really good. The basis of the movie is that the school of good guys (who wear white) has a tournement against the bad school (wears back) for control of the martial arts world. But when the bad guys lose, their hired killer throws the master of the good school his ring ...

Good for Chinese word acquisition
This is a good video, I recommend you get the first Jade video first, colors and numbers and drinks. This one seemed a little less good, seems a bit rushed through. I wish someone would pay attention to the details of language learning.

Outstanding screenplay and production
This is one of my all time favorite movies. If you love Chinese movies and love to watch the intersection of cultures, this is the movie for you. Lives are transformed through love, through literature, through hope and dreams. The photography is amazing and so is the acting. Superb!

Bruce shines in this, his best the lot
I love this movie and still think its Lee at his best. Between the scene of him as a very awkward phone repairman, and the scene where he takes on a horde of bad guys with Nunchucks, this is his most complete performance on screen to me and showed his talent at its best. This transfer is of a much better quality than most of the releases out there of this movie. If you ever wanted to see just how ...

Fun to learn videos
When we put on the video for our 4 year old adopted daughter, her face lights up and she starts to sing along with it. Mei Mei's charm has totally fascinated our daughter. We are so happy to have found the videos so that we can continue to foster both her English and Chinese.

.........LIFE IN HONG KONG 1996/1997..............
I loved this DVD...thanks to Jeremy Irons, the gorgeous/beautiful Gong Li and Maggie Cheung...people have to be cognizant that living in Asia is alot different than in USA...I can't get enough of both Chinese actresses...their natural beauty, in different light, I may add....Gong Li is a perfect physical package who matriculates her art so very well and Maggie Cheung has big dark eyes to drown in ...

Entertaining and educational once again!
I've already purchased vol.1 and vol. 2 of the Language Tree Learn Chinese videos. My nieces and nephews and family friends' kids really love the videos, especially the songs. These videos were able to hold their attention more so than the Ni Hao or Follow Jade series. The production, which includes pop songs in Chinese, 3D animation, and interactive games, is much more professional than ...

guilin
I bought this for a reason. It brings me back some good memories of this picturisque beauty of Guilin when I visited this city in 2004. Music is appropriate for the photography. I love it. Even though it might not be for everyone. The Chinese music is beautiful(very different from western music of course). The cd is only $10.00. Buy 1 to appreciate what other parts of the world have to offer.

We've been waiting for their second adventure, and here it is, as facinating as the first. You and your children will love it. Makes you want to get on the plane with the kids and head for Hong Kong!

A smorgasboard of sex and torture--DIG IN!!!!
This "Category 3" cult favorite starts off with an overabundance of grisly torture--scalding, castration, guillotine, skin removal, finger clipping...and that's just the first couple of minutes! This savage monstrosity is soon offset by plenty of absurd and erotic sex scenes. Then throw in all the bizarre, comical fantasies and you're head will be spinning, like you've been drinking Jack & Coke ...

Excellent course supplement or travel prep aid
I'm taking a beginning conversational Chinese class at a community college. This DVD covers much of the same material, and is an excellent supplement to the course. While studying during the week between classes, it's easy to forget the precise pronumciation of new words -- you can end up practicing the wrong pronunciation all week! As with any foreign language, it would be quite challenging ...

John Cassavetes engages film noir in his own inimitable style with The Killing Of A Chinese Bookie. Ben Gazzara brilliantly portrays gentlemen's club owner Cosmo Vitelli, a man dedicated to pretenses of composure and self-possession. When he runs afoul of a small-time gangster, Cosmo is forced to commit a horrible crime in a last ditch effort to save his beloved club and his way of life. Suspenseful, mesmerizing, and idiosyncratic, The Killing ...

An Educational and Entertaining delight!
I watched this DVD with my four-year old at his Aunt's house and he keeps asking to watch it again. Walker and Ping Ping are two everyday characters that will capture your child's curiosity about China and what it's like to experience living in a new place. This is a "must have" DVD if your family has an interest in China and its culture. The animation is inviting and the story line reflects ...

A Shaw Brothers gem
This is a very different type of Shaw Brothers martial arts film. It reminded me of Lady Snowblood, so if you liked that, then I would definitely recommend this. Betty Tei Pei plays a brothel owner, and she is a very evil woman. She could care less about men, and only loves women. When she gets in a new batch of prostitutes, she meets one that she likes. Lily Ho plays the prostitute, and ...
