DragonBall: General Blue Saga, Vol. 45 reviews
Dragon Ball

Funimation Prod, 2003

What an extraordinary set of episodes
This set of 12 uncut Dragon Ball episodes really does aim to please. The General Blue Saga is one of the best sagas in Dragon Ball and there is a reason for this. It has incredibly fun to watch episodes detailing Goku, Bulma, and Krillin's adventures. They go into a pirates cave from long ago, search for treasure, and fight General Blue. There is even three episodes at the end of the saga which ...

DragonBall: Commander Red Saga Set2 reviews
Dragon Ball

Funimation Prod, 2003

Commander Red Saga
This is the set of DVDs after General Blue. In this series, the evil Mercenary Tao tangles with Goku, and WINS!! But Goku goes through a series of adventures and finds in himself strength. If you're looking at this DVD, you probably already know the quality of Dragonball. However, the previous two DVDs in the set were not up to standard. This series is much better than the previous General ...

Dragon Ball Z - Season Two (Namek and Captain Ginyu Sagas)54 reviews
Dragon Ball Z

Funimation, 2007

Continuation of greatness
Just like Season 1 box, this is great. There are a couple (non-important) scenes where cropping is noticeable, but hardly worth complaining about. If you're a DBZ fan who appreciated the first set, this set is worth adding to your collection.

Dragon Ball Z - Season One (Vegeta Saga)133 reviews
Jon Allen (II), Enuka Okuma

Funimation, 2007

For true DBZ fans!
An excellent box set at an excellent price! Great clean film, bright vibrant colors, good audio. 5.1 is available only for Dub + Japanese music track. Regular dub and regular Japanese audio have only 2 channel sound. Cut frames? Not at all noticeable for this entire saga. Comes with a nice booklet highlighting the characters and filled with episode summaries.

Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon25 reviews
Masako Nozawa, Takeshi Kusao

FUNimation Productions, 2006

Probably the best DBZ movie for effects and storyline.
Wrath of the Dragon is definitely an alternate storyline. However this is the case because it is directly linked to the Trunks storyline. Without giving a spoiler, you find out the origin of the sword that Trunks carries in the series. In the manga which gives more details, young Trunks, in his timeline, defeated the monster at a very high cost to the planet. Of course, this movie is the ...

Dragon Ball Z - Season Four (Garlic Jr., Trunks, and Android Sagas)29 reviews
Jon Allen (II), Enuka Okuma

Funimation Prod, 2008

Did I miss something?
The first thing I thought when I saw the box for this dvd was, Who the heck is Garlic Jr? I have read all the manga books and I never saw him once. So far this series had given us much filler, scenes that were slighlty longer than need to be but this is an entire saga of filler. Not only that but it creates some weird backstory about how Gohan and Goku defeated Garlic Jr. and sealed him in the ...

DragonBall: Ultimate Edition1 review
Chan, Chuche

Tai Seng, 2007

Wow. Just wow.
With Fox getting ready to release a new-live action adaptation of Dragonball, I decided to go out and purchase the first live-action Dragonball film, which was made in China (without the consent of Akira Toriyama) and released near the end of the 1980s. I wasn't surprised to find that this film is bad. Really bad. Well, okay, I will admit that it's one of those films thats so bad it's ...

Season 6 is FINALLY HERE!!!!

Memories will be shared, boundaries will be breached,...and a much-loved hero will destroy King Kai's planet in order to save the Earth. :) I can't wait until September!!!! If you're new to DBZ, I highly suggest you pick it up! It was first aired back in ...

Dragon Ball Z - Season Five (Perfect and Imperfect Cell Sagas)27 reviews
Dragon Ball Z

Funimation Prod, 2008

Dragon Ball Z Season 5
There is a reason Dragonball Z is one the world's most favorite animes. The series is awesome. The only problem with this DVD is that it stops way too short. For those looking to see the end of cell, sorry that is Season 6. Regardless, this series is the best.

DragonBall: Magic Begins22 reviews
Eddie Chan, Don Wong

Tai Seng, 2000

Funniest movie in the entire monkey boy universe
This movie was definitely the funniest movie ever made. Nothing can compare to a little boy carrying a cardboard crocodile and getting shot by a gun that shoots out little sparkles. How can you imagine something funnier than a fat asian smacking his man boobs and his face and becoming a busty hawaiin drag queen? It's impossible my friend, and this movie takes everything. You have led a ...

Dragon Ball Z - Broly Double Feature [Blu-ray]12 reviews
Masako Nozawa, Sean Schemmel

Funimation Prod, 2007

This *IS* the original aspect ratio...but there are other problems
This Blu-Ray is actually a double-feature, containing the first two movies of the popular anime series DRAGON BALL Z that involve Broly (there is a third one not featured in this Blu-Ray). This release is unprecedented in the history of anime as it is one of the first anime titles to be released in a high-definition format, in this case Blu-Ray. As such, you're going to get the best out ...

DragonBall Z: World Tournament Saga/ 3 DVD Set4 reviews
Jon Allen (II), Enuka Okuma

Funimation Prod, 2003

A Nice Small Saga
Although this World Tourney Saga pales in comparison to the ones in Dragonball, it is still a good saga. There is a new Junior Division, and a broad array of really powerful characters that enter. It's a good buy, and leads up to the epic Buu Sagas, which are also good sagas. Even though tape is cheaper, you get two versions on DVD, Japanese and English, in its uncut glory.

Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn45 reviews
Masako Nozawa, Ryō Horikawa

FUNimation Productions, 2006

one of my favorates!
I love this dbz movie. It has good action in it, but also really funny situations, like goku trying to get vegeta to fuse with him, and other awsome parts. But of course funimation's overdubs aren't as good as the original, i recomend you set the audio to japanese with subtitles.

Dragon Ball Z: First Strike movie box set12 reviews
Dragon Ball Z

FUNimation Productions, 2006

Good Stuff
This is a really great set. I am probably the only one who is bothered by this though: The dialogue. I hate watching the movie in japanese because of Goku's little girl voice, but dislike the dialogue that is in english because it is not as good as what the Japanese version says. I dunno. Its just me. But I Wish the english version just could have stuck with the japanese script instead of ...

DragonBall: King Piccolo Saga, Vol. 24 reviews
Dragon Ball Z

Funimation Prod, 2003

Amazing DVD detailing Goku vs. Young King Piccolo
This set starts off where the previous one left off. Piccolo wishes to be young again at the start, so this entire set will be about Goku's encounters with an even stronger King Piccolo then the last one. In these 11 episodes, Goku drinks the Mystic Water and then has a showdown with King Piccolo himself. This doesn't happen until after King Piccolo takes over the world. Overall, there is a lot ...

Dragon Ball Z - Bojack Unbound (Uncut)26 reviews
Jon Allen (II), Enuka Okuma

Funimation Prod, 2004

This one has grown on me.
Had I reviewed this 2 years ago I would have given it 2 stars at the most. But I've come to appreciate this movie alot. For the simple fact this one could have actually fit in the storyline after the Cell Saga and before the Great Saiyaman. This one takes place after Goku's death and Cell's defeat. Mr. Satan hosts a tournament that is eventually sabotaged by a group who wants to take over the ...

Dragon Ball Z Double Feature - The History of Trunks / Bardock the Father of Goku (Steelbook)8 reviews
Takeshi Kusao, Masako Nozawa

Funimation Prod, 2008

Forget What You've Heard...
...about the supposed "bad picture quality". I am here to dispel these rumors and give a true fan's review of this product. First of all, let's start with the first feature in this DragonBall Z Double Feature DVD: The History of Trunks. This TV Special (or movie, whichever you prefer to call it) was made to show the horrible past that the well-liked character, Trunks, has experienced ...

Dragon Ball Z - The History of Trunks / Bardock: Father of Goku (Double Feature) [Blu-ray]1 review
Takeshi Kusao, Masako Nozawa

Funimation, 2008

Is it a good buy?
I bought this item and found it a total disappointment. The reasons being, it's not HD Quality. Let me explain. I bought this expecting the same refining and color conversion as the previous 2 blu-ray releases. When I watched the "History of Trunks" there was a plethora of grain clouding the picture. The colors were not vivid. It did not even look as good as Season releases of Dragonball Z on ...
