Drive-In Cult Classics - 8 Movie Set60 reviews
Anthony James, Gini Eastwood

Mill Creek Entertainment, 2008

I was drawn in
I don't see many movies and these films are from an era in my life when I was trying to be far more serious. Now that I have retired and look back mainly as a way of engaging in 40 years of recapitulation of the Vietnam war, three of these movies tell me a lot about the nature of American life. "Malibu High" (1979) tells me how bad choices can make people advance in the wrong direction, like the ...

American Graffiti / More American Graffitti (Drive-In Double Feature)32 reviews
Candy Clark, Bo Hopkins

Universal Studios, 2004

The original is great, but the sequel is awful.
No point in even viewing or owning the sequel, unless you need an example of how NOT to do it. Hard to believe Lucas was even involved in the sequel. I had no trouble with the double-sided disc on my Blu-Ray player, but if you have any doubts about the double-sider, or can save a few bucks, just buy the first one and forget there ever was a sequel.

Drive-In Cult Classics 38 reviews
Robert Carradine, Jayne Mansfield

Mill Creek Entertainment, 2008

Almost memorable
These are pretty cool movies. All include a little nudity here and there. Some more than others. Some of these movies are actually a bit memorable, and not just for the nude scenes. A great price for this many.

The Outsiders
This movie is already amazing, and this copy was perfect too(: the only thing was that it didn't have bonus features, or scene selections and that stuff,, but I'm not a type of person to watch that stuff anyways, so it was great(:

Drive-In Double Feature: Creation of the Humanoids/War Between the Planets11 reviews
Giacomo Rossi-Stuart, Ombretta Colli

Dark Sky Films, 2006

great series of DVDs
"creation of the humanoids" is a gem that i never heard of until finding this dvd - i wonder if philip k. dick was influenced by this when he wrote "do androids dream of electric sheep" - the movie is like a 1960s b-movie "blade runner" - surprisingly the emphasis is on character and dialog - the cheese factor due to the period it was made in just helps it, it adds an ethereal surreal quality - ...

Dead End Drive In/Cut and Run
Killer Action Double Feature

New Found Glory - This Disaster: Live in London8 reviews
New Found Glory

Drive-Thru, 2004

Bluddy Superb
Ok, I think I'm one of the first people to review this who has actually seen the DVD, however, I have something extra - I was at the actual show as well - thank the Lord for multi-region DVD players. I ts a shame this hasnt been released in the UK because it really brought back happy memories. The show was probably the best one I've ever been to and I've seen about twenty bands live. The ...

Targets30 reviews
Peter Bogdanovich

Paramount, 2003

A forgotten classic
Targets is one of those movies that seems to have been lost in time; you really don't hear much about this movie and that is a shame. This is one of those forgotten classics. Going into Targets I really wasn't sure what to expect and this turned out to be a great and very underrated and creepy movie. Despite being written and directed by Peter Bogdanovich and starring Boris Karloff you never ...

Cowboy18 reviews
Glenn Ford, Jack Lemmon

Sony Pictures, 2002

The heart of the classic western
The tender-foot who proves he can learn his lessons all too well. It is a classic western story with that quintessential cowboy legend in Glenn Ford juxtaposed against the tender-foot played well by Jack Lemmon. The contrast and comparisons make for an interesting and moral tale of how two very different men learn from each other the lessons of human dignity and respect. Very well played and ...

Drive-In Classics Collection3 reviews
Kim Poirier, Rob Salem

Image Entertainment, 2009

An amazing assortment of films varying from exploitation to southern-horror
I just want to make something clear, this is not one of those cheap box sets full of non-copyrighted films with awful transfers. This is one of the best box sets I've purchased this year. It's 7 films, all set in the south, three of which are directed by the "Godfather of Gore" HG Lewis. The 7 films in question are all Something Weird titles. Each of the films has been gracefully ...

The Starlite Drive-In Theater: Pom Pom Girls/The Van5 reviews
Stuart Goetz, Deborah White

Bci / Eclipse, 2006

The Van is the Citizen Kane of Sammy Johns/Conversion Van Movies
Don't know about the Pom Pom Girls yet, but Bobby's adventures in "Fun-Truckin'" are as cheesy-good as the residue in his van's toaster oven. An unforgettably weird soundtrack by Sammy "Chevy Van" Johns only adds to this so-bad-it's-great movie. Exactly how does a "Miss country lady" make a guy feel like he's "flying in space"?

Dead End Drive In7 reviews
Ned Manning, Natalie McCurry

Starz / Anchor Bay, 2003

Sublime Post-Apocalyptic Aussie Trash
In the near future (that is, 1994) the world is brought to the brink of anarchy by, for some reason, inflation. This has apparently caused millions of rusted car frames to be scattered around Australia, and forced everyone to dress like hepped up punk rockers and fight with tire irons. Thusly, the government tricks the unemployed people into drive ins and locks them up. This clever ruse works ...
