Great for the beginner!
This is a wonderful first book to learning how to the hammered dulcimer. The songs are simple, yet catchy. The CD instructions that go along with the book go at a proper pace. I finished the lessons in 1 week, but I still love playing the songs!

John is an awesome player and I think any intermediate player would benefit greatly from this DVD but for me it was pretty confusing... The pacing of this DVD is very slow. I cannot imagine anyone sitting and watching the whole thing. Maybe it is designed to be a music video to play in the background while you are doing something else. Picture quality is not real sharp. If you have a big HDTV, the image quality will be pretty blurry compared to broadcast TV.
