A Smart, Funny, Chic Relationship Movie...Hollywood Wishes It Could Do This!
I'd never heard of this movie before I saw it by chance, and only just now found out it has a prequel. Must see...Must see... Russian Dolls was stylish, fast-paced, deep, funny, and hopped around Europe like a travel show with a plot. The comparison of the relationships shown in this film and the famous Russian dolls (store one within another) was a perfect metaphor. I'm ordering it today on DVD. ...

L'Auberge espagnole-- totally what happens when you are studying (esp. Erasmus) abroad. Love, disappointment, parties, even the Catalan mentality is accurately depicted. A cute and frivolous movie! Note: Only in French or Spanish (audio) with English subtitles. A good way to brush up on your French or Castillano!

Fabulous !!
An excellent family movie. There is a bit of violence and some language but for the most part this movie is wonderful. I watched with my children yesterday and they loved it. After Will Stoneman's father dies he needs a way to help pay for his mom's farm and college. He enters a contest that pays 10,000 dollars. He enters the contest. The rest is up to you to view!

The extras in the Remix version are worth paying more
High School Musical is one of the Disney productions you don't have high expectations for. How good can something made for cable be? But it surprises in a big way. This is a movie about teens trying to find their own identities while feeling the pressure to conform to their own social groups. There's clean romance, humor, and the songs are surprisingly good. It does what every good musical ...

A favorite.
I loved Enchanted April. This is one of my other favorite. Fun to watch with friends and family. The character development is excellent. The story is narrated and takes you into people life. Excellent movie to be watched over and over again.

Remarkable
This is one of those films that all humanity should see, it is remarkable, penetrating and soul wrenching. I not only recommend the film, but the historical presentation within, as it will stir the soul of the viewer to tears. The acting, writing, dialogue, and production of the film will impact any viewer, as it was all marvelously choreographed. This is also a very serious film, with intent to ...

Only below The Godfather.
When it comes to comedies, John Hughes and Ed O'Neil created a formidable one here. This is they type of movie I find myself watching over and over again and enjoying it more each time I watch it. If you are looking for a 3-hour drama, look elsewhere. This film is cut from the same mold of great films such as Uncle Buck, Home Alone & Planes, Traines & Automobiles. It's no coincidence that John ...

Stunning portrayal of wasted human lives
Director Sergio Leone has produced an ambitious, complex, and moving portrayal of Jewish gangsters in the early 20th century. When the aged former mobster Noodles Aaronson (Robert DeNiro) is summoned back to New York, memories of his childhood gang and subsequent rise in organized crime resurface, as does the mystery of what happened to the money the gang had been pooling since their first days ...

Magnificient Obsession
In a perfect world, a viewer planning on seeing this film for the first time would not be aware of its by-now famous ending. It is a testament to everyone involved in the making of this movie, that knowing the ending does not spoil, in the least, that first viewing experience. Truly, this is one film in which the 100 minute buildup is as satisfying and quietly thrilling as the utterly ...

Excellent - this is definitely a classic
This is a classic movie with a very good "simple" look at life in the Netherlands. Like all good movies, it does not shy away from mixing religious scenes with secular. Good father-son type movie, though it has subtle controversial elements in it that will be offensive and suggestive to some, concerning the actual relationship between the boy and the Canadian soldier. If you look at the overall ...

Great movie and was so when TNT did it for TV. Danny Glover was very good in this part and since I was, and am now a life memeber of the 1st Cavalry Division, I know a lot about the 9th and 10th Cav units who were the Buffalo Soldiers. I mysef served with the Delta Co. 2nd Bat 8th Cav Rgt Abn 1st Air Cavalry Div. Vietnam 68/69, so I love everything Cav, including all the John Wayne Cav movies. ...

Great Dutch Work
Unlike most Hollywood flicks, this one stands out as very real with acting so good you forget you are watching a film... and few films can do that for me. Excellent directing; raw, much nudity, good story line; very likeable characters you care about.... I loved it.

The Perfect Movie
If any movie could be perfect this is it. The story is good, and we are treated to a rare glimpse of Holland in the 1800's during a wintry setting. The story is a homely family tale of poor versus rich and how poor is actually wealthier than some of the wealthy snobs in the movie. It is a perfect holiday and winter film and honestly great during the hot months of summertime to help cool your ...
