Anna Russell - The (First) Farewell Concert5 reviews
Anna Russell, Rober Rosenberger

Video Artists Int'l, 2001

The Best of her Classic Routines
This video, billed as Ms. Russell's "First Farewell Concert," features almost all of her best routines including: a lecture in her series "Wind Instruments I Have Known," "How to Write Your Own Gilbert & Sullivan," and "The history of the Folksong." Of course, no Anna Russell collection would be complete without her analysis of Wagner's "Ring der Nibelungen." Creating great parody requires ...

Phil Collins - Finally....The First Farewell Tour (2DVD)57 reviews
Phil Collins

Rhino / Wea, 2005

Finally ... an excellent Concert DVD
This DVD-set is awesome. Ok, Phil is slowly getting old - but the music and the recording quality (both audio and video) are top notch. Believe me. I own several Concert DVD's from other bands. The audio quality on this one is unsurpassed. The song selection will please long time fans and those who are not. I totally recommend it My rating 5+

Alan Alda, Wayne Rogers

Fox Home Entertainment, 2007

Goodbye,Farewell and Amen Special Features DVD
The Movie length last episode of M*A*S*H is wonderful, a great way to end a show by showing situations for each of the main characters even though I didn't want the series to end. And now I watch the re-runs all the time. The two disc special features was great also, looking behind the show at different sections we would not normally see in Australia. I am hoping there will be a reunion show this ...

Jerome Bixby's The Man from Earth83 reviews
David Lee Smith, Tony Todd

ANCHOR BAY, 2007

65 out 0f 80 reviewers give it 4 or 5 stars. That should tell you something
Bad acting, poor direction, zero production values. Add them together and get one of the best movies of all time. Of course, those who want a Highlander remake, blood and guts and explosions won't like it. How wonderful most movies are made for you so you won't often be disappointed. And Christians who take everything literally won't like it (though thoughtful Christians will be just fine with ...

Chris Rea

Umvd Import, 2007

chris back to his roots
His recent serious illness has made Rea reassess his musical priorities and this is the superb result. I live only 60 miles from where this concert was recorded and only wish I had seen this live. Dave Lloyd Oswestry, England

Farewell Israel: Bush, Iran, and The Revolt of Islam22 reviews

Highway 61 Entertainment, 2007

Amazing factual review
With few exceptions, this film shows in clear, stark---and well-documented---sections the history of Islamic hatred for the Jewish people, and from whence comes today's "Arab war against Israel." As all will see who take the two hours needed to view this comprehensive film, that hatred has very little to do with Israel's modern establishment in 1948, and almost everything to do with the ...

Crowded House: Farewell to the World Live27 reviews
Crowded House

Capitol, 2007

A Fitting Farewell Concert
I gotta tell you first that I'm a longtime fan of crowded house. I couldn't get enough of Paul Hester, Neil Finn and Nick Seymour when they first conquered the world. Yes, that they did! The brilliant songwriting of the three men, but especially Neil made this band a truly unique and special one. They conquered the international airwaves with their beautiful, deep songs. So, it was truly fitting ...

If you are an avid Eagles fan like I am, this is a must buy for your home entertainment needs. Compared with most live concert DVD's, this DVD is masterfully recorded from the audio to the video. If you are a collector, this is a must buy for the money. 5-stars and well worth it.

The Hemingway Classics Collection (The Sun Also Rises / A Farewell to Arms / The Snows of Kilimanjaro / Under ...3 reviews
Rock Hudson, Jennifer Jones

20th Century Fox, 2007

a wonderful collection
I love this collection. It brings me back to Hemingway who I read while growing up in the Fifties and Sixties. The restorations of the Scope movies are outstanding and the extras are informative. The cinematography and music of Adventures of a Young Man are very moving. This film brought me back to my youth. I highly recommend.

Farewell To Arms, A1 review
Helen Hayes; Gary Cooper; Jack LaRue; Adolphe Menjou; Mary Philips

Reel Enterprises, 2006

"I don't really live at all when I'm not with you."
"I'm afraid of the rain because sometimes I see me dead in it. And sometimes I see you dead in it." -- Helen Hayes Frank Borzage had a romanticism and sensitivity to his silent work matched by none, and when sound came along he continued to put a delicate touch on films that required something more than just direction. With Hemingway's "A Farewell to Arms" he brought this romantic tragedy to ...

Farewell, My Lovely25 reviews
Robert Mitchum, Charlotte Rampling

Geneon [Pioneer], 1999

It Can Stand Alongside The Earlier Version
"Farewell My Lovely," based on the novel of the same name by famed hard-boiled detective author Raymond Chandler, a Californian, is set in the author's glamorous 1940's film noir Los Angeles. However, it was filmed, lavishly -- no stinting on any car or landmark -- in the Los Angeles of the 1970's, to be released in 1975. It was also filmed in color, the theory being that LA noirs may ...

Ballet
Beautiful dancing, superb artists. BUT for those of us who love ballet but do not know it as professionals, subtitles describing, explaining the action could enhance our appreciation just as subtitles in opera have opened the world of opera to the multitudes.

A Farewell to Arms (1932) DVD [Remastered Edition]2 reviews

A2ZCDS.com, 2005

A2ZCDS keep it up .....
''A2ZCDS has done it again with `A Farewell To Arms'. I thought I was stuck with re-reading the book to shreds - I certainly don't see this vintage classic being shown in movie-houses these days. Ernest Hemingway should be canonized for his touching story of love in the time of war.''

Meet John Doe/A Farewell to Arms7 reviews
Gary Cooper, Barbara Stanwyck

Marengo Films, 2001

Digitally Remastered and as good as new!
Judging by earlier reviews, the DVD that was given to me is obviously a new edition by Marengo Films: digitally remastered and with a different cover picture than the one currently displayed here. This one deserves a 5-star rating both for its excellent picture and sound quality, and for the two marvellous and unforgettable cinema classics. "A Farewell to Arms" from 1932 is based on the ...
