When the Forest Ran Red (Ultimate Edition)9 reviews

Paladin Communications, 2004

Fantastic DVD on French and Indian War!
This is a special release of the video of the same name (see my review of _When the Forest Ran Red_ VHS). However, this version has about 10 minutes of extra footage. The DVD focuses on the early part of the French and Indian War, most specifically on little-known, but important, Braddock's Defeat. Within this time frame, we follow George Washington and learn of his many mistakes and watch him ...

The Petrified Forest38 reviews
Leslie Howard, Bette Davis

Warner Home Video, 2005

A Bette Davis / Bogart classic!
This was one of the early Bette Davis and Humphrey Bogart films. It has my praise for a number of reasons, one being it was shot using a very limited number of scenes. Two, the film gives us a real perspective of life through the "love is not enough" factor and does not lead the audience into believing all love stories have a happy ending. Three, you really get to see how GREAT of an actor Bogart ...

Funky Forest: The First Contact (Sub)6 reviews
Kotaro Shiga, Kazue Fukiishi

VIZ VIDEO, 2008

Sit back, relax and watch TV -- like surfing through the cable channels on another planet
Funky Forest: The First Contact is laugh out loud loopy -- the most fun I've had watching a film in a long time. Bad comedians, bizarre dance routines, a show and tell classroom, a canine director of animated films, aliens who hope to take over the world, geeky brothers, a funky forest that delivers otherworldly pop, and lots more go into this almost indescribably odd and hilarious film from the ...

The Emerald Forest49 reviews
Powers Boothe, Meg Foster

MGM (Video & DVD), 2001

One of My All-Time Favorites!
I have loved this movie since it came out. I have yet to order the DVD, but will soon. I have trouble with anyone not seeing the value in this film. Yes, you have to suspend disbelief in order to "get" it. But it is a spectacularly beautiful movie with great acting and many messages for the human soul, including that we are so much more than our technology. I have never tired of watching it ...

The Forest7 reviews
Dean Russell, Don Jones

Code Red, 2006

Classic GrindHouse Flm
The Forest is a classic Grid House from the 80's. Don Jones captures the atmosphere of the true independent film. Don't expect true horror as this screenplay is less than well written, but Jones delivers with beautiful shots and we get to see a very young Corky Pigeon (for those Silver Spoons fans) being introduced. The story is true magic. Just go with it and see the reward of a ...

The Forest For the Trees4 reviews
Ilona Schulz, Daniela Holtz

Film Movement, 2006

an amazing job
This movie details several months in the life of a schoolteacher in Germany who leaves a small town to attempt teaching in a more suburban atmosphere. She arrives in her new life with great hopes for friendships, romance, and touching the lives of children in the high school. We soon learn, however, that Melanie Pröschle will not transition into the new setting easily. Melanie first has ...

some other connections
I re-watched this again last night. Boy, K-films need two showings!( for any one who does not understand Korean) One to get the gist of the plot from the subtitles, the next to really watch the actors! All the differance in the world. Did anyone notice the puppets? The presence of horror and the warmth of love, grief and remorse are perfect in this little piece.

America's National Parks and Forests3 reviews

Analytical Software, 2002

This DVD must be good, competitors need to attack it
If you look at the "review "below, it might surprise you that according to his logic he must work for a competitor because on the same day he attacked this park DVD, he promoted a park DVD by "Finley Holiday" (according to his logic a positive review and certainly a positive review combined with attacks on competitors must mean you work for that company). Unbelievable! And the company he is ...

Haunted Forest5 reviews
Sevy Di Cione, Adam Green

Lions Gate, 2007

Very Spooky! Very Original!
I was surprised at how well done, and how interesting, this movie was. It kept my attention throughout. The final scene in the tree was classic and also top notch--suspense wise. The acting was superb for an indie flick. There were plenty of BOO! moments as well! Five Stars I bought this one! Troy Mocha Movies

New Forest Tai Chi for Beginners37 reviews
John Bright-Fey

Rubrica Press, 2004

New Forest Tai Chi for Beginners
We bought this with a Morning Cup of Tai Chi. My wife, who has health problems, needed a form of exercise that was low impact. She has tried other instructional tapes and dvds but found that the moves were so complicated and that the instructor went so fast that she could not learn or keep up. Fey takes the viewer step by step through the program. It is such an easy form that it is not hard to ...
