RRRRRRAAAAMMMMMOOOO!!!!!!
If you see the movie, you will understand the title for this review! I had this on video (taped from TV, as alot of us used to do as kids!) and I watched it until the tape unraveled in the VCR. It's a bonafide classic for anyone who grew up in this era.

Have not seen the DvD version
This movie is great. Anytime it comes on TV I have to hit record or stop what I'm doing and watch. It doesn't come on Tv too often though. If I decide to purchase I will make sure not to purchase the DVD. I'll go on Ebay or something and get the VHS.

Cidade de Deus
Many movies try to recreate the real world, giving us a "true" story that's supposed to be gripping, gritty, and scary but never completely accomplishing the goal. Other times we get movies that would appear to give us what we were expecting if it weren't for the fact that they've been done over and over again. In 2002, though, Fernando Meirelles gave us a new story that showed us a new world. ...

Give it up for Scorsese, Keitel, and De Niro!
I am a big fan of gangster flicks (The Godfather Trilogy, Casino, etc.) and crime dramas (Heat, Collateral, etc.). It's not the violence that fascinates me, but the characters and their motives & personalities. So it's no surprise that I fell in love with Martin Scorsese's Mean Streets. It's quickly becoming one of my all-time favorite films. Made in 1973, this is a classic independent film ...

" I don't think I want any of this dirty money."
Not just one of the best movies but also Dead Presidents has the one of the best soundtracks. I love this money very much and there was a theme to this movie and that is ADJUSTMENT. Anthony had to adjust to the changes in has city after coming home from the amry, he had to adjust to his daughter and adjust to lossing his job. Skip adjust to the army by doing drugs to claim his mind and adjust to ...

Cynical but Brilliant!
This dark comedy ranks as one of the great films of the '90s. The acting is good, the story is highly engaging, and the take on life it offers is definitely a reflection of the modern world, albeit a dark one.

"Mesmerizing"
One of the greatest Steven Speilberg films ever made, "Shindler's List" is widely regarded as the best movie to ever dramatize the horriffic trauma that Jewish people faced during Hitler's terrifying reign. Winner of an amazing seven Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director, "Shindler's List" accounts how Oskar Shindler (played beautifully by Liam Neeson) saved the lives of over ...

Tropa da Elite....
I had the pleasure of viewing this film at a film festival in my country. I'm a fan of Brazillian cinema so I had to take a look at it...Also because it was about BOPE, I was intrigued. I learned about BOPE in the special features section of City of God. During the filming of this movie the film crew was robbed at gunpoint of their guns, real and fake, and some of their equipment. This may ...

Flower Power & Revolution
Fritz is one funny seeker of Life = Sex. Director Ralph Bakshi has left us an almost forgotten hero of the huge social changes that were simultaneously happening during the Age of Hippiedom. The animation and coloring is just as awesome as when I first saw it at the movies and fans of Robert Crumb will will really dig this. Whether you were there or not, this is a great flick. Why all the hatred?
I saw this movie when I was younger, a couple of years after it came out. I purchased it because it is a clasic. I saw some of the reviews on the movie and I need those people to realize this is not a movie made in 2010. That 's why I call it a classic. Classics are movies you seen when you were young, but you'll watch it now eventhough technology is different now then in the movie. My wife has ...

Good movie with very interesting characters
The market is presently over run with urban drug gang movies, but this one is a standout good story with great interplay between the actors this film was made over ten years ago but you can still see the solid effect it has to present day living.

Laughing out Loud
My family watched this together and rolled in the floor. They have one scene where 2 men were dancing like sissies out in the street. I had to stop the tape because my niece started hyperventilating from laughing so hard. We played that part over and over. This was a good movie.

"DO YOU LIKE SWING"? A CLASSIC....... OH DADDY O!
Blackboard Jungle is an interesting film that features Glen Ford and some young new talent that would find bigger fame in later years. Sidney Poitier,Vic Marrow and Jamie Farr(Jameel Farrah then) all play teens in this tale of juvenile delinquents in a lower class school that Ford comes to teach in. Still holds up well considering it's age. Poitier would later do "To Sir With Love" and switch ...

A Boy In Search Of Himself
If it were not for the fact that the real Solomon Perel appears towards the end of Europa Europa, I would be tempted to believe this film was fiction. It seems too unlikely that a Jewish boy could survive World War II, first as a good Soviet, then as a good Nazi, without being discovered. But apparently it happened, and this film does an excellent job of depicting the extraordinary story. ...

Great movie
I have watched City of God, great movie, so I got this movie to watch from blockbuster and had to buy it. Its great, but after buying it and realizing there is a tv series about these boys I recommend watching that first. It builds up to them wanting to search for their fathers. But aside from that I was able to enjoy the movie and fully appreciate a journey between two best friends.
