My So-Called Life - The Complete Series (w/ Book)90 reviews
Claire Danes, Winnie Holzman

Shout! Factory, 2007

In Contrast to Today
I was one of those who actually got to see the show, one episode, when it was on ABC. I'm not even sure which episode it was, but I caught the tail end of it, and then it was gone. When I showed up on MTV I had just gotten cable, but I saw it disjointed because I would catch an episode here and there. Suffice to say I really love the show for its writing and acting. It can start to get a ...

My guilty pleasure
I can't explain it to you, you wouldn't understand. How can you emphasize that something strikes a resonnating chord with a distant memory of a cherished job? Don't buy it unless you've seen it. And "No" you can't borrow my copy.

Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead82 reviews
Christina Applegate, Joanna Cassidy

Hbo Home Video, 2000

This movie is great!
I first saw this when I was a kid when HBO was playing constantly. I loved it then, and I'm surprised at how much I still enjoy it. Simply told, a poorly treated mother gets to escape for a summer with her boyfriend. She deems her daughter too immature and selfish to run the house, so she hires a baby sitter. Good call, except the old lady dies the first night. The story stays good, and the ...

Jennie Garth

Paramount, 2008

90210
I was in my late teens when this show was on and loved it so naturally when it finally became available on DVD, I am buying each season as it comes out. I loved the series. The new 90210 on TV now cannot hold a candle to the old 90210.

Meatballs (Special Edition)66 reviews
Bill Murray, Harvey Atkin

Sony Pictures, 2007

Spaz, Spaz, Spaz, Spaz, Spaz, Spaz, Spaz, Spaz
This should be or perhaps it is a cult classic. This is one of my favorite older movies. Bill Murray while he's no super funny in Meatballs, his humor shines along with the cast of mostly non-stars. Harvey Atkins is the Camp Director Morty (Not Mickey!) Melnick who tries to keep order at Camp North Star while at the same time his counselors and counselors-in-training (CIT's for short) keep their ...

Radio131 reviews
Cuba Gooding Jr., Ed Harris

Sony Pictures, 2004

Radio was faking it
First, let me say that I loved the movie. It's incredibly touching in many ways, and there are several reviews on Amazon that detail the movie. On the other hand, I think Radio was probably faking it. Who wouldn't like to be the Big Man on Campus for the rest of their life? Kid 1: "Whos that?" Kid 2: "Dude, c'mon! How lame are you? You dont friggin' know Radio?!" It would be a constant ...

Kirk Cameron, Left Behind Trilogy

Cloud Ten Pictures, 2008

Left Behind DVD Pack -GREAT
This is a very good collections of all three Left Behind DVDs and with the special DVD it is worth getting. It is good to get not only for the Christians you know but with the way the DVDs are made they are great for non-Christians as well. These can be used for evangelism and outreach to your friends. Worth buying and worth the price.

Peter Gabriel - Growing Up Live106 reviews
Peter Gabriel, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan

Geffen Records, 2003

The Great Peter Gabriel
I purchased this DVD for my fiance and he has watched it around 10 times within a week or so. This is one of the most entertaining and original concerts that we have ever seen. The performance of "Upside Down, Downside Up" is just awesome. I also love the "Blind Boys of Alabama" and to see them with Peter Gabriel was a real treat. I would love to see this concert live but until then, this is ...

High Times Growers Series: Jorge Cervantes' Ultimate Grow DVD8 reviews
Jorge Cervantes

High Times Prod, 2006

Nothing Else Like It!
Well shot, well edited, and paced quickly enough that you don't get bored, but slowly enough that important topics are covered in depth. Where else are you going to find an instructional documentary that takes you inside growrooms? For a younger generation, (accustomed to learning visually) this DVD is an invaluable resource. Of course, if you're a serious student, read the book, but the DVDs are ...

Anaïs Reboux, Roxane Mesquida

Criterion, 2004

Suddenly, Last Summer
Catherine Breillat's "Fat Girl" (2001) is an astounding movie that provides uncompromising and unblinking look at the relationship between two teenage sisters, and their first sexual experiences. The older sister, 15 years old Elena, has no problems attracting boys' attention and sexual desire and while on the family Summer vacation, she meets an older, more experienced boy, who will say and ...

Growing Up With Winnie the Pooh

Walt Disney Home Entertainment, 2005

GREAT FOR CHILDREN
My 1 and 3 year old watch this over and over again. They enjoy it and the best part is that the dvd will play and start over on it's own. That means I don't have to mash play every time they want to watch it again and again.

Thumbsucker46 reviews
Lou Taylor Pucci, Tilda Swinton

Sony Pictures, 2006

Thumbsucker review
For an indie, the lack of obnoxious dialog makes Thumbsucker more enjoyable than other recent indie films about high school students. The student counselor who makes Justin's ADD diagnosis with a pamphlet shows a popular additude towards students like him. The Polyphonic Spree made a very fitting soundtrack and the visual effects are subtle. "Neo" as the dentist is a nice touch.

Very informative
One of the most informative videos that deals with the positive and negative activity online. A great video to show young adults about the potential dangers as well. Suburban Girl22 reviews
Alec Baldwin, Sarah Michelle Gellar

Image Entertainment, 2008

Bad Ending
Suburban Girl overall was ok. It is not a movie that I would personally watch again. Part of it could have been my timing. In the movie Sarah Michelle Gellar's Character's father passes away. I watched it the day before Father's Day and my father passed a few years ago. When I first rented this movie I was under the impression that it was a romantic comedy as well. There was kind of a melancholy ...
