Be True to Your Ghoul
What's this? A new "Nightmare Before Christmas" DVD package? Actually there are three versions: this two-disc set that includes a downloadable digital copy, a Blu-ray version, and a collector's edition that comes with a hand-painted bust of Jack Skellington. The movie itself is a feast for the eyes, ears and imagination. A delectable witches' brew of stop-motion animation, catchy show tunes ...

I had an old VHS copy of this movie that was so bad you could hardly watch it anymore. It's nice to have this flick on CD. I searched a long time for this movie, and Amazon delivered. I love [...]. If you need it, they have it.

Great addition to the series. Dr. Loomis is still trying to stop the "Evil on 2 Legs". Much fun. Also, Paul Rudd...before he was funny.

"Houdini" finally reappears, on DVD!
Finally this cinematic treasure comes to DVD. As previously stated, while sometimes not historically accurate, it does portray a young Ehrich Weiss and his passion for the art of escapism & illusion and his love for his wife Bess. Real life husband and wife couple, Tony Curtis & Janet Leigh are more than convincing as "The Great Houdini" and his stage assistant. This delightful film will ...

A TIMELESS CLASSIC
Every so often a movie comes around that from the first time you see it, it grabs you and you instantly know it's going to be a classic. 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' is absolutly one of those movies!!! T.N.B.C. is a 1993 stop-motion, animated musical created and written by Tim Burton, directed by Henry Selick, and scored by Danny Elfman. Our story starts off with a very memorable ...

Hocus Pocus is a TREAT!
This is a movie that I watch in September (sometimes more often throughout the year) to get me in the "fall" mode. The music, acting and overall feel of Hocus Pocus is fun, spooky and very entertaining. The cast is awesome! The music is stellar and it's been one of our favorites for years.

EXCELLENT MOVIE
Everything about this movie is first rate. The acting is A+, especially with a strong performance by Anjelica Huston leading the way.The plot however differs a bit from the book. However, I STRONGLY recommend this movie. My only regret is that I waited a long time to see it.Since I bought the DVD I have seen it multiple times.IMHO, the DVD is missing a making of featurette.

A MASTERPIECE!
I saw the original Halloween in theaters and loved it. Have seen it many times since, and Carpenter's version is great. Just about all the sequels blew one way or the other, changing Michael Myers from a lunatic into an unstoppable juggernaut. Bullets can't stop him! Fire can't stop him! Decapitation can't stop him! Who cares anymore?! This began a whole trainload of bat guano mascarading as ...

THE Blu-Ray film for the holidays
What a great film for Blu-Ray! Crammed with detail and composed like a series of paintings, it demands the high-definition treatment to fully appreciate. On one hand, the scenes are filled with little surprises like tarantula- and bat-shaped neckties and snakes, but on the other hand they are so artistic! Once you watch Jack Skellington's operatic posings against the moon at 1080p, or see the ...

The Most Complex Saw Yet
In many ways, it's hard to reach a definitive verdict on the level of "Saw IV" until the fifth chapter comes out this October; Saw IV, much more so than any of its predecessors, felt like it didn't so much actually end, as it paused for a year-long intermission. The series has become very complicated (too much for so some, although I'm loving the increasingly labyrithine structure) and just as ...

Welcome back Jamie Lee!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now THAT'S more like it!!! After four horrendous sequels that made ZERO sense, Hollywood brings back Jamie Lee, pretends that parts 3 - 6 never happened and makes the best Halloween since part 2. A brilliant continuation of the story line. Expertly directed, superb acting, a great cast, even with Josh and his pillow fight hair. LL rocks in this movie. Start to finish a film FINALLY worthy of ...

While I got this DVD for my three-year old daughter, it is ***I*** who am hooked on Max and Ruby. They are so dear and funny; when my little one asks to watch Max and Ruby, she gets no qualms from me! If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, entertaining program for your child, I highly, highly recommend Max and Ruby. My older daughter has always loved all of Rosemary Wells's (the ...

The Thing on HD!!!
This is a terrific movie with an absolutely terrific transfer. The Thing is a horror / sci-fi remake(this version was released in 1982) and as most reviewers have described it looks fantastic. Obviously if you compare it to a more modern film with digital filming and post production you will see a difference but I decided to give this film 5 stars due to the top-notch treatment that the transfer ...

Ichabod and Mr Toad
I am lucky enough to have a beautiful 16mm copy of this film. While the video is probably great, the beautiful technicolor lines in a large movie screen show the sheer brilliant animation of the Disney staff. The songs are wonderful and the story line moves very well, not too long or too short. I would not worry about the scary scenes with small children (not too small) because the rest of the ...

good spooky fun...
(This is a one disk set with both movies on the same disk). The movies are great, but the only thing that bothered me is, they are not in wide-screen format as promised in the advertisements. It even says it's supposed to be wide screen on the disk itself, but its not. But the movies are the same great movies...just have to get over the full-screen formatting. The original Addams family movie ...

Not just a cartoon, a new genre itself
A spacecraft making a crash landing on a highway bridge, a taxi screeching to a stop and the pilot jumping out to say, "Yo, taxi!" symbolizes the situation humor in Cowboy Bebop. This movie, "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" (as titled in Japan) is set between episodes 22 and 23 of the TV series. Bebop is the animated tale of 27-year-old Spike Spiegel, a slick Martial Artist and shooting ace ...

Blu-Ray transfer looks great to me.
Just my opinion here, but the night scenes still have plenty of blue in them -- and I do not think that this edition warrants a 1 1/2 out of 5 stars for video quality as some sites would have you believe. I am familiar with the Criterion laserdisc of this film (one of the best sets in its day) and there are certainly some differences...but honestly, like a lot of other people I always kind of ...

I purchased this DVD set for a friend of mine who is into the hauntings, vampires, etc. She thought it was the neatest gift that anyone has ever given her! She loved all of the videos and claims they were very interesting and scary in some of them. Definitely worth the money!
