The best show of its era
There was a time in the 1980s when the best hour of television was on Thursdays at 10:00 when Hill Street Blues came on. At the time, I was a dedicated fan, and though I'd caught the show occasionally in syndication, it'd been years since I'd really seen the show. Rewatching the first season of this show reminded me that even two decades later, this remains a quality show. Prior to Hill ...

What A Memory!!
This is one of those cheesy little movies that todays audience just wouldnt get. Of course, Diane Lane is just too hot for words, even today, but look at the other actors in this movie who went on to much bigger thnigs (Willem Dafoe, Michael Pare, and Rick Moranis were all great in this movie). And then theres a lesser known actor named Stoney Jackson, who never made it as big as he should have. ...

Hill Street Review
This show was the beginning of it all. A great TV series that allows you to get inside a cops life and at the same time how that influences being a cop and visa versa (mostly visa versa). There is not one actor in the series that is more vital than the other as they are all needed to make it work. From Phil's Hey lets be carefull out there to the DA's "pizza man" and of course Belkers "Hair ...

Being born in 1986 I missed Hill Street Blues first time round, fortunatley after catching it on british daytime telly I became addicted. Its only right that the greatest show of all is released and shown the respect it deserves.

A very special film for anyone who loves animals.
I first heard about this film on Ebert and Roeper. I am a resident of the San Francisco bay area, but I had never heard about these parrots. What a story! Mark, the flock's "guardian," has such a close relationship with these parrots and he is able to show us just how smart they are, and how each one of them is a special individual. In writing this review, it is difficult for me to articulate how ...

We love it!
My 3 month old loves this DVD! His favorite is the Garth Brooks song- he smiles, laughs, and kicks his feet with excitement. When my son is cranky we turn on this DVD and we instantly have a happy baby again. The music is great and very catchy. My husband and I find ourselves singing the songs around the house. We absolutely love this DVD.

Campy live-action cartoon is entertaining but do not take it seriously or overly critical in comparing it to the video game.
This is an entertaining live-action comic book and based on the source material, the cast is borderline good. Raul Julia, Wes Studi and Van Damme were all casted well. It has good sets, exotic locales and comedy. The film is more of an action comedy than anything. May I add that I liked Guile more here than I did in the game. Not quite up to the funny entertainment or quality par of say Live & ...

Falters early on, but quickly rises to meet two decades of high praise!
Having watched St. Elsewhere when it was originally broadcast, I had been left with memories of a truly high quality series in every regard (acting, writing, and directing). I was extremely happy to see this series finally get a DVD release, but I was also anxious to see if it could actually measure up to my memories... The first episode doesn't disappoint, it's a great debut. But then, the ...

Germans do Weill proud
I hesitated at first given the German origin of this DVD. Would they be able to get into the spirit of what is after all an American musical? What about accents? What about style? No need to worry. This isactually a joint production with the Houston Opera and many of the singers are English speaking. So what we have is an excellent production of Street Scene faithful to the spirit of the ...

A LASTING TESTAMENT--BUT P L E A S E , MAY WE HAVE MORE??
It's been said that "a clown makes you laugh at him; a genius makes you laugh at yourself." I've always found this a rather narrow-minded view; it's quite possible to be both. Red Skelton & Benny Hill were two such examples. Indeed, one could call Benny Hill "The British Red Skelton." We of the English-speaking world spit on our clowns & mimes too much; we'd do well to take an example from ...
