Valentine's Day66 reviews
Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Garner

New Line Cinema, 2010

Valentine's Day
I enjoyed this video for two reasons. The first is that it's fun and funny and packed with talent. Two is that I know it was made because the economy was so bad and dozens of "name" actors had no work because their big budget movies were on hold or falling apart. This movie was shot around LA and at the agency that represents the stars in the film.

The Messenger36 reviews
Woody Harrelson, Ben Foster

Oscilloscope Laboratories, 2010

A Small Heartbreak of a Film
War films usually concentrate on the exploits of the war hero, charging into battle, guns ablaze, mowing down enemies without so much as a care in the world, and come out with nary a band-aid on their forehead. Occasionally, the best friend dies, in order to get the hero back on track and advance the plot. One never thinks of the people at home, waiting for the best friend to return. And one ...

The Last Station24 reviews
James McAvoy, Christopher Plummer

Sony Pictures Classics, 2010

Love..is always the answer
A splendid movie with a spectacular cast, about the final days of Leo Tolstoy, his work, his philosophy, his followers and his family. The chemistry between the high spirited, elegant Sofya Tolstoy (Helen Mirren) and pacifist bohemian Leo (Christopher Plummer) is rhapsodic! Tolstoy's quest to pursue idealism, in his final years, involves increasing conflict with retaining material possessions ...

Invictus [Blu-ray]95 reviews
Morgan Freeman, Matt Damon

Warner Home Video, 2010

Good movie but slow at parts
the acting was very good, which is to be expected with the actors in this movie. The movie does drag a bit in the middle and plays much like a biography for awhile but overall worth seeing.

Crazy Heart108 reviews

20th Century Fox, 2010

A True to Life Story
I love this movie. I was a traveling musician for over 24 yrs. I have met or been, most of the people in this story. "Crazy Heart"? real crazy life. Funny how fallin' feels like flyin'...for a little while.

Up in the Air197 reviews
George Clooney, Vera Farmiga

Paramount, 2010

Surprisingly good TV entertainment
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed watching Up in the Air. I was a bit worried this would turn into a typical Hollywood movie bashing corporations and celebrating "family values," but it's much more subtle. It's much deeper than I thought (certainly much more so than a typical George Clooney movie). Vera Farmiga and George Clooney add a lot of emotional complexity and are a joy to ...

Extraordinary Measures29 reviews
Harrison Ford, Brendan Fraser

Sony Pictures, 2010

Spellbinding!!
Harrison Ford is great and this movie will keep your interest from the very first moment! It holds with a certain amount of tension, waiting for the next scene just to see if the plan works out and things will be able to go as hoped.

The Blind Side383 reviews
Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw

Warner Home Video, 2010

Best Feel Good Sports Movie Ever
A true story of a young homeless teen who gets adopted by a well-to-do family and then rises to remarkable heights on the gridiron. This is not the first time that this has actually happened in the NFL. But never has this story been retold so poignantly on the silver screen. In "The Blind Side" you will laugh, cry and stand up and cheer for the journey and accomplishments of Michael Oher. ...

The Hurt Locker447 reviews
Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie

Excellent
I generally do not like war movies, but this one is different. It puts you right in the streets of Baghdad. It's very well done, and is suspenseful and interesting from start to finish.

My granddaughter told me about this movie, my husband is sick and we are home bound, we watch alot of tv. the first week we watched this movie four times. You'll love it. A Single Man57 reviews
Colin Firth, Julianne Moore

Sony Pictures, 2010

Reflection
Often a book and a movie share little more than the same name. I've made several attempts at Isherwood's book. Having now seen the movie, I will attempt the book again. Yet, I can say that they differ. I cannot begin the book without knowing that it is about me as I might be judged by another. I stop unable to bear reading a word more. Perhaps other readers have had the same experience. ...

Everyone Should Watch This Once!
A wonderfully done movie. Imagine the world as you know it being ripped from you. The very things that we take for granted suddenly become necessary for survival. I really couldn't say anything better than these two reviewers: chrisr "Chris" and Val "LOTRMatrixHPLostFreak". They captured the way I felt about this film. It gives us a lesson into humanity when our world of convenience and ...

Edge of Darkness93 reviews
Mel Gibson, Ray Winstone

Warner Home Video, 2010

revenge done right
This wasn't an over the top action/revenge film (though there was plenty of action and tension), it was smart, and done well. Good twists, some really great scenes, some of the best I've seen in a while. It also had a lot of heart which lead to a powerful ending. Similar to 'Taken' and just as good, but on different levels.

Shutter Island
Even though I had previously read the book, this movie was well worth the watch. They did a great job following the book, with the special effects supporting the imagery created by the story line. I highly recommend this movie.

Sherlock Holmes324 reviews
Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law

Warner Home Video, 2010

Sherlock Holmes Movie Review
"Sherlock Holmes" directed by Guy Ritchie is set in the 1890s in England starring Robert Downey Jr. in the title role. The detective crime action thriller has Holmes and Watson, portrayed by Jude Law, doing what they do best, solving mysteries and crime. Guy Ritchie's vision for this film is beyond brilliant. The feeling and tone he set for this film is flawless. He created this almost grungy ...

Chick Flick for the Over Thirties
It is a strange notion but sometimes, with some movies, depending on when you watch the movie or in what state you're in, a movie can just rub you the wrong way, or go the other way and fit you perfectly. I think if I saw this movie, even a year ago, I would have dismissed it as another Nancy-Meyer disappointments. I am only thirty-one but there was still so much a single girl could relate to ...

The Book of Eli201 reviews
Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman

Warner Home Video, 2010

One of the few movies I saw twice in the theater
I love this movie. I hadn't hear or read much about it when I saw it the first time so what is revealed about Eli at the end of the movie was I surprise to me. I went back the next week to see it again and look for the clues. It was just as enjoyable and moving the second time.
