It's really all about Gates!
The DVD reminds me of something they would show on the History Channel for free. This is informational yet a bit boring and not quite what I had expected. Maybe a bit more pizzazz would help!

Next year hire actors that can act and a director that can direct
A good story, plot, and scene selection which highlights both the conflict of homosexuality with a traditional, orthodox Jewish family and the coming out process of their oldest son. However, the movie is ruined by poor, over-acted performances by the physically attractive principals and over-the-top stereotypical "Jewish-ghetto" behavior by the parents, uncle, grandfather, and rabbi. The best, ...

No Question Mark Over Jerusalem, Capital of Israel...
Scenic beauty, hot topic focus, and biblical perspective combine to make JERUSALEM, THE COVENANT CITY a fine documentary for gift-giving or adding to one's library. Narrator Lance Lanbert is filmed on location reviewing past, present, and future as it relates to Jerusalem, referencing scripture verses for those who want to verify his points or see the biblical context--for ex, the three biblical ...

"A Fantasy Of Fusion" ~ Concerning Thought, Belief, God And The Continuity Of Tradition
Note: French and Hebrew with English subtitles. `La Petite Jerusalem' released in '05 is an intelligent, thoughtful and articulate exploration of the question "What is reason capable of." In the context of this film it appears to be capable of luring Laura (Fanny Valette), an educated free thinking philosophy student out of the protective confines of her Orthodox Jewish community and ...

to die in Jerusalem
Great documentary, but embarassing to buy a DVD from Amazon. I used to be a big DVD buyer there, but like with this latest one, I invited a lot of friends to see it. 3/4 toward the end of the movie, the DVD froze and stopped playing. We never saw the end of it. My DVD player is not the problem, as other DVD's played well and it's a great unit. The DVD is of a bad quality, and I am tired of trying ...

Another great Gaither video
Ok, simply put, this DVD is awesome! From the opening song, Jerusalem by the Hoppers, all the way to the very end, this DVD is jam-packed with great songs that will keep you singing for hours! Personal favorites would have to be Jerusalem - Hoppers Can't Stop Talking About Him - Brand new song by the Gaither Vocal Band featuring their new singer Marshall Hall (who by the way, is awesome!) ...

Very interesting history with computer remodeling of Jerusalem
This documentary has better quality than A&E's Ancient Mysteries: The Lost Ark of Covenant. And this has computer remodeling of ancient Jerusalem and the temples along with its very interesting history. You can see mostly from Israel's side though.

matrix Wagner
I saw this on VHS complete many years ago, well when it first came out, and the production, the concept of Kupfer directly parallels what Herr Wagner wanted as well as Barenboim's large massive scale sound he prefers to Boulez's more chamber-like reading.Boulez also had faster tempi and Daniel. I am sure they both discussed it together. . . . What did Herr Wagner Want?, a scaled down stage, ...

DESPITE FLAWS, A VERY GOOD PRODUCTION WITH GREAT SOUND AND PICTURE
This Met production returns to Wagner's original intentions, after decades of Bayreuth regietheater productions. While these were interesting, they make what is already a complex story harder to grasp, at least for those new to opera. Although I know the ring quite well, I find regietheater Wagner gets annoying with repeated viewing. It tells me more about the stage director's ego than Wagner's ...
Temple in Jerusalem
Great and Holy is God's world --- and the Land of Israel is the Holiest Land in His world. In the Land of Israel is the holy city of Jerusalem and inside Jerusalem the holiest place is the site of the Temple. And in the heart of the Temple was the Holy of Holies, resting place of the Ark of the Covenant --- the footstool of the Almighty. For more than 350 years the Temple Solomon built stood atop Mount Moriah until the Babylonians destroyed it ...

Just in Time for Uppercut!
This is by far my favorite workout! My husband loves this DVD too, Gilad is great for men or women. How can you not love a guy who can easily transition from jump roping to uppercutting his belly dancer? The music is not distracting at all in my opinion. The camel is kind of silly, and there may be too much production but I s'pose that is the charm of it. It doesn't take away from the ...

REJOICE!!!
Siegfried is now available formatted for North America. I wish Amazon would remove those reviews which state otherwise, because the situation has obviously changed. I hope no one will be put off buying this by fear of not being able to play it. The Kupfer/Barenboim RING is, in my opinion, musically, dramatically and conceptually the best currently available. Bring on Gotterdammerung.

NOT a morality play, just a good flick
Don't read too much into this movie....yes, it will definitely make you think. But this film doesn't pick any sides, nor make saints out of anybody. It really is just a charming tale, with awesome character development and a simple plot which keeps you wondering what will happen next. Everyone is shown with flaws, not just the Israelis. Christian church-goers, African and European ...
