Great teaching tool
This DVD is a great teaching tool. I use it at the Community College for an Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology class. The students love it. They learn without realizing. I like that the format is divided into body systems. It would have helped me:(1)to know before purchase that the DVD is 100 min. (too long for 1 class) and (2) to have an insert in the DVD case that gives times for the various ...

Amazing Video
The "Human Footprint" was first aired on the National Geographic Channel earlier this year. It is a graphic portrayal of the quantities of stuff that an average American consumes over the course of a lifetime. The criticism of our lifestyle is implicit. No one says what all this is doing to the planet, but it quickly becomes obvious that enormous quantities of stuff must be manufactured, ...

Very thought provoking! It's hard to believe that some people actually deny that there is a problem with global warming. A must see for everyone.

Quality Documentary.
This was a very educational production with considerable first hand footage and field reporting. That's what we expect from National Geographic and that's what we get here. The photo comparisons of the premature aging of meth users--"Faces of Meth"--was as depressing as it was compelling. The side effects of this drug are absolutely horrific, and the parts about "meth mouth" are tough to watch. ...

Covers all Aspects of what it's like being a National Geo Photographer
This is great DVD. I watch it more for inspirational and motivational purposes. Though the more and more I watch it, the more and more I pick up on things. Listening to the photographers, their stories, and seeing their work. It helps motivate me to achieve their level of work. Not that that's going to happen anytime soon, but I have noticed a difference, all be it a small one. This is not an ...

Good Historical Perspective
Takes a fictional path through early human history; showing nomads as they learn about sedentary life, the first cases of religion, love and power struggles, the development of agriculture, trade, and language, and the first corrupt government. This is a great lesson in early microeconomics, and political theory on a similar micro-level. This is a great show for someone looking to ...

Nothing new, but it doesn't matter
With 30 years of some of the best documentaries around to choose material from, it scarcely matters that there is no new footage. The narration seamlessly bridges the gaps between the various shorts from National Geographic specials of the past. I wasn't sure what to expect, since it is essentially teasers of other films, but this is a great film in its own right. We got the film for our little ...

Excellent and enjoyable series on our small and fragile planet
Strange Days is so well put together, and Edward Norton is a powerful narrator. I show at least one of the four episodes in classes that I teach. Students from Middle School to Grad School enjoy it equally. Episode 2: The One Degree Factor is my favorite documentary on Climate Change. Episode 4: Troubled Waters is one of the most chilling environmental segments ever aired. And the other two ...

what im looking for
This was a very informational movie that depicted real life situations for the animals targeted in the film. There was no sugar coating and everything was real. Many of the animal videos and shows that come out are boring with repetitive information and are often quite boring to watch. This video kept you watching with the many different things that kept occuring. I loved this video it was much ...

This documentary is incredibly well filmed. Years were spent in the dangerous wilds of Africa to bring us this story. The documentary follows a pride of lions and a pack of hyenas. Information about the diet, reproduction habits, social order, behaviors, the range and so much more of these animals is brought to you in excellent video and ...
