A Great Comedy That Needs Some Explaining
On reading some of the reviews of Nothing Sacred here, I saw that while some folks found it just fine & dandy, others were disappointed. Being Carole Lombard fans, and knowing the reputation of this film, they expected more from it; they expected it to be funnier than it was. The problem is that this film was, as pointed out by others, more of a satire than a screwball comedy. In many ways, it ...

First Look Pictures, 2007

CLEVER AND FUNNY!..... BIG NOTHING? I THINK NOT! 4 1/2 STARS!
Recommended by one of my Ammie buddies (Thanks FM!), this film is one bloody crazy ride! This film starts out funny and never lets up. It reminded me of 'Blood Simple', but it stands on its own as a solid dramedy. Simon Pegg has delivered more good comedies in the last few years than many A list comedians. This one should not be missed! The DVD has an excellent transfer and there are some ...

Anchor Bay Entertainment, 2009

Just added another favorite to my holiday collection
I love this movie. I found it funny without it being crass; emotional without it being a tear jerker. A great Christmas movie to add to your collection. It certainly has a whole lot of flavor and thank God it's not another gringo Christmas flick.

Tom Hanks, Jackie Gleason

Sony Pictures, 2002

Good comedy drama movie with Jackie and Tom!
What a cast. Tom Hanks before his superstardom in Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump and Cast Away with the Great One,Jackie Gleason in his final movie role. The chemistry works between these two.The acting was first rate between these two. I liked this movie. Well worth watching again!

A movie that makes you think of the impossible...
Definitly a great movie for those who prefer something with an intelligent backing. Yes, it is "wierd", and yes the cast is really only the two guys, and...yes they are fairly dimwitted...but look at the big picture. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to "hate" away things you don't like?...or would it TRUELY be a curse? I give this movie 5 stars...mostly due to its concept, and creativity.

Bring It On - All Or Nothing (Full Screen)46 reviews
Hayden Panettiere, Solange Knowles

Universal Studios, 2006

It's Cheertastic!
I don't know why I like this movie. Demographically speaking, the target audience should be 10-18 year old girls, yet somehow I still find myself watching it almost every time it comes on ABC Family. It's filled with ridiculous terms like "cheerocracy" and "cheertator", it's slightly racist in its overly stereotyped portrayal of inner city schools (Shabooya...Sha Sha.... Shabooya??) , and it's ...

Laughing So Hard We Couldn't Breathe!
I remember seeing this movie when it first came out. My best friend and I went to an arthouse movie theatre in New York City. I'm not sure even this jaded New York audience was prepared for what they were about to witness. From the first moment, the movie is in your face. You're alarmed. You're thinking, "How am I supposed to react to this? Is this .......funny? offensive? What is ...

British Invasion: Small Faces All Or Nothing 1965-1968
The Small Faces were my favourite band when I first became interested in music. The first record I bought was Tin Soldier. I'd hardly ever seen video clips of their songs except for Lazy Sunday. The clips are brilliant. I love the live performance of the Happiness Stan tracks with Stanley Unwin. I've got pretty much every song from the dvd on vinyl and it was great hearing the songs again and ...

Bob Hope

Universal Studios, 2010

Hope's Sensational Farce, "Nothing But the Truth", Finally on DVD!
This Bob Hope set, rightly knocked by so many reviewers for including a plethora of duplicate issues, would have been much better off as a simple Hope/Goddard box set of their three movies, with the slightly better known "Ghostbreakers", already available on DVD, rounding off "The Cat and the Canary" and "Nothing but the Truth". A special presentation and notes and extras would have been nice. ...

don't like it? go watch legally blonde instead.
how is "poor people, weak people, unsmart people, unhappy people, unsane people, violent people, fat people, ugly people" like a cliche? if people want 'a smile' there are plenty of (cliched) films out there about rich, talented, beautiful, perfect, boring people to keep you occupied. complaining about directors like mike leigh making films that are too depressing (and they're not, actually, if ...

Truly fine adaptation of Shakespeare
Young Claudio is smitten with sweet Hero, and with the help of his mentor Don Pedro he proposes. But Don Pedro's glowering brother Don John schemes to break up the match by staging what appears to be a night visit to Hero's bed by a strange man, witnessed by the others. Meanwhile, sharp and cynical Benedick says there's no point in marriage because the perfect woman doesn't exist; independent, ...

Sweet Nothing in My Ear - Hallmark Hall of Fame4 reviews

Hallmark Hall of Fame, 2008

Perspectives
I love how the different perspectives are displayed in the roles played in the movie! I am very pleased how deaf culture and the controversies that occur and still are being fought on cochlear implants. I want parents to know that the cochlear implant isn't a fix and this is a decision each parent needs to be aware of the consequences for the decision they make either way they do.

NOTHING BUT A MAN (1964) - amazing!
I always wanted to see NOTHING BUT A MAN. It never became the independent hit it deserved to be, yet I can understand why it holds a special place in 60's film history. After watching it last evening, I thought of films like THE PAWNBROKER and a handful of other gritty black and white films of the era: films that realistically and powerfully dealt with adult issues and created a much-needed ...

This Is A Horror Movie With Comedy! Don't Be Afraid!
This movie is Hysterical! It massacrades as a horror Pic, but it is really a lovely comedy! The girls are all Gorgeous! Plenty of bikinis and skin! The monsters are hilarious! I swear that you really want to adapt one as a pet! The monsters are harmless and obviously a "send up!" There are some serious moments in the movie, but one can't help laughing! A LOVELY film and story! Don't be afraid of ...
