A Traveler's Guide to the Planets1 review

NAT'L GEOGRAPHIC VID, 2010

Use this to show off your Blu-Ray!
This looks truly stunning - you have to watch it on a large screen TV otherwise you won't get the full effect. It's pretty amazing how much detail the special effects team managed to put into the graphics. There were a number of times I sat there and thought "wow" :) Besides that, the programs themselves are quite informative and live up to the title - they act as a good general guide to the ...

The BBC High Definition Natural History Collection (Planet Earth / Wild China / Galapagos / Ganges) [Blu-ray]43 reviews
David Attenborough

BBC WARNER, 2008

The pinnacle of all nature programming.
James Cameron's TITANIC is the king of the world, all films. STAR WARS is the unsurpassable standard of all Sci Fi. GONE WITH THE WIND is the classic of all classics. AVITAR is the 3D of all 3D movies. Well, PLANET EARTH is the pinnacle of all nature films. Enough said. Also, consider getting Planet Earth as a box set together w/ either Earth the Biography, or High Definition Natural ...

Planet of the Apes 40th Anniversary Collection (Planet of the Apes / Beneath the Planet of the Apes / Escape ...43 reviews
Charlton Heston

20th Century Fox, 2008

The "Apes" movies doesn't get any better than this.
You all know the storyline and characters, so I will just comment on the BluRay quality, and why you should get it. I had read the reviews and as I have found in the past with most reviews, what you read is based on a single persons view of what they saw, how they heard the film, and on the TV and sound system they used. I was expecting to see the original DVD versions cleaned up a little and ...

The Privileged Planet126 reviews
John Rhys-Davies

Illustra Media, 2004

The Privileged Planet gives a startling excposure to our unique planet earth.
The Privileged Planet is a great video for helping see some of the latest discoveries in astronomy regarding just how unique and rare a habitable planet like our earth is. Unlike the 1980's Carl Sagan who claimed there must be billions and billions of earth's in our own galaxy, Gonzalez and Richards take us on a journey of our earth, solar system, and galaxy revealing the latest understanding of ...

Fantastic Planet100 reviews

ACCENT CINEMA, 2007

Unfairly Obscure
I rented this movie on Netflix and I didn't have any problems with the DVD. Its availablity on Netflix appears somewhat limited. It was removed from my queue once. I guess since it's a foreign film it's more obscure than it should be. Get your hands on this thing when you can. Fantastic Planet is like an art film with an actual story. Everything about it is good, even the repetitive ...

Forbidden Planet (Two-Disc Special Edition)420 reviews
Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis

Warner Home Video, 2006

I always loved Robbie
Leslie Nielsen before he took on comedy. Walter Pigeon is most believable as the villain. You have to have this one in your collection if for no other reason than Robbie the robot! Imagine a robot that can produce everything from a ball gown to 100 proof booze-obviously what killed the Krell!

Treasure Planet172 reviews

Walt Disney Video, 2003

Absolutely Greatest Movie, EVER
I love this movie. I would say it's quite possibly the best disney movie I've ever seen other than Mulan. If you've never seen this, I highly recommend it. Action, Adventure, Family, Friends, Faith. Teasure Planet has it all! I saw it the year it came out, and even now (I'm 19), I still love this movie. I'm pretty sure that if I hadn't fallen in love with it back then, that I would still ...

Planet Earth, Vol. 1: From Pole to Pole/Mountains/Fresh Water4 reviews
David Attenborough

BBC Warner, 2008

Love this series
I love the Planet Earth series. Since it was too expensive for me to buy the entire series, I bought disc 1 because it includes "From pole to pole" which is summarization of the entire series and has some spectacular photographing. If you really love this series but are unsure about dropping $50+, get this. It'll satisfy you.

Doctor Who: Planet of Fire (Story 135)12 reviews
Peter Davison

BBC Warner, 2010

Could not have been better
Well, Planet of Fire has many things going for it. First it does'nt feature Tegan - which gives Peter Davison's Doctor a chance to actually seem intelligent - and yes Peri in the swimsuit might just encourage male viewers. Just as a note this story also acts as a swansong for Kamileon - a little-seen robotic companion first seen in "The King's Demons"

IMAX: Blue Planet [Blu-ray]72 reviews

Warner Brothers, 2007

Amazing
Dream is Alive has Amazing space shuttle launch footage and incredible shots of earth from space. The Imax cameras give you the feeling of being in the space shuttle with the crew. Blue plant has alot of the same footage as the movie Planet Earth, and is also very beautiful and educational.

Grindhouse Presents, Planet Terror - Extended and Unrated (Two-Disc Special Edition)223 reviews
Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodríguez

The Weinstein Company, 2007

terror
I can watch this over and over. It's a great zombie movie. Love the old movie style of it, with the lines running through it and a whole part of the film missing so the movie goes from point A to C with point B missing. I love the opening dance scene with cherry and that hot music number. Her gun leg is cool and there is good humor here and there.
