great films - ridiculous packaging
I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. All of the discs in my set played just fine. Of course as soon as I received this I saw that the packaging was ridiculous and I immediately removed the discs and put them in replacement dvd slim cases. One has to wonder what they are thinking when they produce a package like this. It's clearly one of the most elaborate and expensive boxes for any dvd set ...

Love Hitch
I can't get enough Hitchcock. He was a brillant director. If you are a fan this is a great collection. It also has a little book with interesting tid-bits. Almost as good as the movies are the extras, fantastic.

The Perfect "Murder"
Hitchcock's immaculate rendering of the stage thriller is one of that rare breed: the underrated classic. Without significantly altering the action by "opening it up", Hitchcock still creates something thrillingly cinematic. This has to be one of the finest stage adaptations ever. It may be one of the best mysteries ever made as well. Indeed, it's amazing how the play's text is riveting ...

Is this Roger Thornhill or Bond, James Bond?
This 1959 Alfred Hitchcock film was the fourth and last "spy" film that he did with Cary Grant. The others are Suspicion (1941), Notorious (1946), and To Catch a Thief (1955). I realize that Hitchcock was a close friend of Albert Broccoli (James Bond films)and Cary Grant was the original pick by Albert Broccoli to play James Bond, but the character in this film, Roger Thornhill, reminded so ...

Good Hitchcock
Very good movie from Hitchcock. One of the first movies to delve into psychology. Peck and Bergman are very good. Dali dream sequence of some renown and interest.

Really Great Alfred Hitchcock!
This is a light Hitchcock movie, probably not one of his greatest, but pretty close! The film does not focus on murder or mayhem or even tragedy. It is all about stealing jewels! If you thought that jewel thieves were interesting, this is your movie. If not, here the movie grows on you and you won't care about it being about jewel thieves. The acting is superlative and funny. It is not made ...

One of my favorites movies of all time....
...but, where is amazon coming up with the names of the principal characters in the movie?!? What about CARY GRANT & INGRID BERGMAN, two of the best actors/actresses ever? It seems as if this would be a very difficult mistake to make; it's pretty obvious on the cover of the movie even if you know nothing about the movie itself. Can't amazon do any better than this? I think a wonderful classic ...

"Man Overboard!"
Walter Slezack and Talluluh Bankhead steal the show in this classic Hitchcock movie. "People in lifeboats tend to 'act up,'" as we have seen in the original Titanic with Clifton Webb and Barbara Stanwyck and more notably in this wonderful movie. Hitchcock's genius comes through with more artistic subtlety and mysterious beauty than in some of his more blatantly diabolical productions--cresting ...

Believe in the power of your dream (dreams can come true)!
This movie is a very uplifting movie in that it shows to the audience that anything is possible through hard work, perseverance, and the belief you can get it done. Although it did sound very far fetched that someone (Billy Bob Thorton as Charlie Farmer) can build a rocket and fly it on their own to outer space, the idea of putting in the effort is what counts. To actually build a rocket like ...

Great print of a great movie
This is one of Hitchock's best films - they are all great, but this one and "Rear Window" are my favourites. The technical transfer of this film to DVD is solid; the storyline is incredible, given the time in which this film was produced. There's quite a bit more "story" to the story, in the relationship between the two main characters - a relationship that possibly doomed this film to very ...

The absolute BEST!!!
Best Hitchcock film, best American movie, best satire, best thriller, best snapshot of small town Americana, best insight into the underside of everyday life, best existential American film. Breathtakingly written, breathtakingly photographed, breathtakingly acted, breathtakingly directed, breathtakingly brilliant. It never palls. A true Classic.

Mystery Fun With Old Friends
Samantha and the gang are back for more mystery fun in another good entry from this movie series created by Michael Sloan and starring pretty Kellie Martin. Samantha Kinsey (Martin) runs the Mystery Woman Book Store with help from her pal Philby (Clarence Williams III). Philby's mysterious past with the government always comes in handy when she goes snooping into murder, as does her friend Cassie ...

weak
This was pretty good for gay fare but it started out a little weak. Hopefully since they get to do another season they will come out stronger and bolder. If you are going to be able to do stuff like this, really dig in and go at it and don't just put out something to be putting it out. This series has potential.

A very good and very charming romance comedy
If you want to see a light, funny, and witty, romance comedy, you've come to the right film. Bergman is at a beautiful, wiser, and charming 43 and Grant is as handsome as ever. He hardly ever changed did he? The dialog is swift, clever, timeless, and delivered with ridiculous ease from a well picked cast. Even at the outset, the acting by Bergman and strong support by Phyllis Calvert is ...

Classic Hitchcock and classic suspense
STRANGERS ON A TRAIN, starring Farley Granger, is a top-notch suspense thriller of the old school. The plot setup may seem formulaic, but this was made in a time when (for the most part) only the best formulas were used. A seemingly accidental meeting occurs on a train between a famous tennis champion and his deranged fan who happens to know a little too much about his personal life. During ...
