Unsolved Mysteries: UFOs22 reviews
Robert Stack, Raymond Burr

First Look Pictures, 2004

UFOs Well Documented by Robert Stack
Robert Stack did a great job of trying to maintain a balance between skepticism and sincere witness testimony. The UFO encounters on this DVD set are all food for thought. My own opinion though, is that no serious consideration was given to the possibility that our military may actually have this technology. It doesn't seem likely to me that "aliens" couldn't find something better to do that ...

Unsolved Mysteries

First Look Pictures, 2005

Hit and Miss... Again!
One of the better boxsets from Unsolved Mysteries. Some segments like "Friends to the End", "Dakota's Double Death" "Whistle Blown" and "Zodiac/Unabomber" are the best. A few segments such as "Texas Most Wanted", "Margo Freshwater" and "Richard's Rampge" don't qualify as "Bizarre Murders" because their about people who have gone on killing sprees and aren't bizarre. And they've also been solved ...

Unsolved Mysteries

greatest show ever.
I freakin love Unsolved mysteries.I loved it when I was 9 years old and not much has changed. Some segments are still scarrier than 99.9% of the horror movies put out in the US over the last 20 years. The early episodes (89'-93') are a bit better then the later ones, that said there is alot to admire about the stuff they kept putting out. I think the combination of perfectly creepy music and the ...

What An Eerie Series...
Dear Amazonians, I must say, that when I saw my first episode of the Unsolved Mysteries series, I was utterly spellbound. How creepy and awe-inspiring that a show would be made about the worlds most intriguing and perplexing phenomena. To this day, I still love the mystique that surrounds this program, and adore Robert Stack, as one of the greatest hosts of all time! I was saddened to learn ...

Unsolved History Season 2 (6 DVD Set)

Discovery Channel, 2008

Unsolved History is history the way it was! Each program will answer one question surrounding an instantly recognizable "name brand" historical event - a subject that the mass audience already has heard about - but doesn't really know. How did Davy Crockett die at the Alamo? Why did Pickett's Charge fail at Gettysburg? Who shot down the Red Baron? What happened to Hitler's Bunker? Was the Boston Massacre really a massacre? What sank the ...

Ghost/Haunting Enthusiast? Should already own this, then!
Child of the late 80s and 90s reviewing here. Maybe I am a product of my generation, I am not sure. But, I enjoy reading and watching anything to do with ghost and the paranormal. There were a lot of interesting shows on air when I was young that allowed people to wonder about and ultimately enjoy the paranormal...at least as entertainment. Unsolved Mysteries was a great program that ran ...

I purchased this knowing what I would get!
Ok...I purchased this set knowing what I would get. Meaning I knew it had a lot of repeats and knowing there were mistakes in the set but I got it anyway...why you ask...Cuz I am a true lover of "Unsolved Mysteries" and wanted every story that is available on DVD. I'm happy with this set because there are a couple new stories that I had never seen when the show was on the air. If you are a ...

Unsolved History ~ Death of the Red Baron1 review, 2003

History Rewritten?
For many years it was assumed the Red Baron was taken down by RAF pilot Roy Brown. In recent years, however, that theory has been challenged, and it now seems that it most likely was not Roy Brown. So who was it? The program reveals that von Richthofen was killed by a single bullet entering his right side and exiting on the left; such a trajectory could not have come from above, where pilot ...

Unsolved History: Ninjas1 review

Discovery Communications, Inc., 2007

threadbare
A lot of boys and men love ninjas, so this is a surface-y discussion they might enjoy. Still, they stopped speaking about real ninjas one-third or one-half way into the work. They then move on to the question, "Are SWAT team members the new ninjas?" Equating the present to the past help viewers who may get bored. A teacher once asked in a psychology class, "Are psychologists modern-day ...

Unsolved Mysteries of World War 2

Madacy Home Video, 2006

Terrible sound quality
While the historical content of these DVDs is quite interesting, the sound quality is so bad that they are almost unwatchable. The background music is so loud that it drowns out the narration. Adjusting the volume doesn't help. The problem is the same on all 3 DVDs of this set.

Unsolved History Season 2 - Episode 3: Death of Marilyn Monroe1 review

Discovery Channel, 2008

Murdered by Enema!?
I can see things going both ways. If you are a huge MM fan, maybe you wouldn't want to spend much time thinking about her death. However, if you are such a fan, it's a fascinating aspect of her and you would want to ponder why she is gone. This work focuses much more on scientific experiments than factoids about her life, so any one who likes science-laden shows may enjoy this. Still, some ...

Unsolved History: Hitler's Bunker DVD

Discovery Channel, 2005

In early 1945, Adolf Hitler retreated to an underground bunker and never saw the light of day again. In this sunken lair, he ate, slept, held military briefings and even married Eva Braun. And, yes, he also killed himself there. From 1961 to 1989, the site was screened from Western eyes by the Berlin Wall. In the 70s, the GDR, concerned about would-be fugitives tunneling under the Wall, performed a classified underground survey of the area that ...
