28 Weeks Later (Widescreen Edition)223 reviews
Catherine McCormack, Robert Carlyle

20th Century Fox, 2007

Superior sequel
The rage virus that decimated England is thought to have run its course, and the US military oversees the reintroduction of British citizens to a protected zone. The existence of this sequel testifies to the fact that this does not go smoothly. This ultraviolent film is superior to the first, which had a very lackluster ending. The vision of director/co-writer Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and ...

Mr. Brooks152 reviews
Kevin Costner, Demi Moore

MGM (Video & DVD), 2007

Mr. Brooks
Mr. Brooks is one of the best suspense movies I have ever seen. His conversations with his 2nd personality add alot to the unfolding of events. Kevin Costner is amazing.

Kate Beckinsale, Luke Wilson

Sony Pictures, 2007

Suspenseful, Yet Campy Combination Detract from the Horror
Set in a rundown motel in the middle of nowhere, a couple finds themselves trapped at night while being stalked by deranged killers. The cinematic effects and music add to the suspense of this thriller. However, one unrealistic character takes away from this movie being a 5 star movie. Overall, it's a dark movie that will keep you jumping in your seats. Makes you think twice about ...

Attempts To Make Political Statement But Fails to Deliver
I disagree with those who view this as a simple slashfest, detached from the political points about the military and the "American Family" that the first remake constructed so well. For me, there is a clear parallel between the National Guard unit fighting a deadly, mysterious enemy in a desert environment, and the wars going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. Indeed, the training exercise in the ...

1408 (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)158 reviews
John Cusack

Weinstein Company, 2007

A Fantastic Movie, Mediocre 'Collectors' Edition
When 1408 was first released into theaters, I had heard mixed reviews, not from critics, but from friends of mine who had managed to catch screenings of it before I did. Not that that was hard to do, mind you, because I rarely, if ever, went to see films in the theaters. I think in recent years the only film I was going to see in theaters was 30 Days of Night, but was unable to due to a stint in ...

John Cusack, Ray Liotta

Columbia TriStar, 2003

Even better the second time around.
I just watched Identity for the second time and even though I knew the ending, it still was very good. In fact, you notice some very interesting behavior from one of the characters that you might have missed the first time. In my opinion, this movie has one of the freakiest endings ever on film. And no I refuse to spoil it for anyone, watch it yourself and see.

Shooter (Widescreen Edition)258 reviews
Mark Wahlberg, Michael Peña

Paramount, 2007

Amazing Adventure Political Thriller
This is a great film. Mark Wahlberg is always reliable for turning in a quality performance so sometimes he can be taken for granted. Remember how he shocked everyone with his excellent performance in Boogie Nights? Well here he possesses an amazingly strong constant presence that never lets up. He is an action adventure superstar. The simple basis of the plot is that he is a shooter for ...

A cool twist to time travel. Keeps you stuck to the story and hopeful all the way to the end. For both Cage and for Biel.

The Lookout76 reviews
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jeff Daniels

Miramax, 2007

Holds your interest
That's more than many movies can boast. Fine cast, especially Jeff Daniels as the blind roommate. The plot isn't entirely obvious, either. It does degenerate into a somewhat stock thriller during the bank robbery sequence and the aftermath, so be forewarned. Hey, this is Hollywood.

DreamWorks SKG, 2007

Disturbia DVD
When i first got this video everything looked fine until i put it in. About 12 minutes in the movie it stopped playing. So i contacted the seller and told them the situation and they prompted me that they would send me a new one. A couple days later the video arrived and it worked great. The best part was i didn't have to send the old one back and waste shipping charges. Great customer service

Hostel - Part II (Unrated Widescreen Edition)111 reviews
Lauren German, Heather Matarazzo

Lionsgate, 2007

The sequel to redeem all sequels
Hostel Part II is an incredibly courageous - almost ballsy - sequel to an already intrepid genre film, Eli Roth's Hostel. The mystery and suspense are inevitably low since the tricks of the Elite Hunting organization were revealed in the first film. Nonetheless, this does not detract from the movie's ability to captivate and entertain. Roth no longer needs to keep his audience guessing, and this ...

Premonition (Widescreen Edition)157 reviews
Sandra Bullock, Julian McMahon

Sony Pictures, 2007

WOW! Best movie, ever.
This movie is just breathtaking. I thought no movie could rival Speed 2: Cruise Control, 28 Days or Forces of Nature, three of the best movies ever made, but this one really does it!! Great job Sandra Bullock! You are trully gifted and choose really great scripts! PS: i forgot! It is even better than Jaws IV: The Revenge!

Fracture (Widescreen Edition)119 reviews
Anthony Hopkins, Ryan Gosling

Edgy Gripping sharply scripted drama
What appears as a cut and dried murder twists and turns and has many clever and unexpected changes in direction. Great performances by Anthony Hopkins and matched by young Ryan Gosling. Dont miss this.

Zodiac (Widescreen Edition)231 reviews
Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo

Paramount, 2007

Zodiac Revealed
Zodiac (Two-Disc Director's Cut) [HD DVD] This review refers to HD-DVD 2-disc edition set. Movie is sort of documentary type trying to accurately portray Zodiac killings from late '60s. It is pretty long at 2:42 minutes and somewhat boring. Killings occur within first hour while speculation and bogus theories continue until the end. Movie is based on the book Zodiac written by Robert ...

Morgan Freeman; John Cusack; Alice Krige; Bill Smitrovich; Megan Dodds; Jamie Anderson

FIRST LOOK PICTURES, 2007

Solid action..excellent preformances
I enjoyed the Contract alot, after all it has almost everything an action / thriller movie needs. the plot was simple and yes it did not add anything new or original, but it was pretty decent and was fast paced with smart dialogue lines. it involved a single dad ( Cusak ) and his son who go out camping in the woods and thier path is crossed by an assassin ( Freeman ) who was escorted by the FBI, ...

The Number 23 (Unrated Infinifilm Edition)126 reviews
Jim Carrey, Virginia Madsen

New Line Home Video, 2007

Numerical Madness
This is the best, and certainly the most interesting, of Jim Carey's movies. We aren't aware of it initially but, through the Carey character, we see a world slowly unraveling, and the dissolution is somehow related to the otherwise unremarkable number 23. Carey comes to the recognition that everything in his environment relates in some way--by multiplication, division or the number, itself--to ...
