Tales from the Crypt - The Complete Third Season20 reviews
John Kassir, Whoopi Goldberg

Home Box Office (HBO), 2006

Even better then I remembered
I recently purchased most of the season from Tales from the Crypt and couldn't be more happy. This is one of my all time favorite shows. I remember when I was young how great the stories were and only hoped they would hold up now. Luckily they are even better then I remembered. The perfect amount of horror and comedy make this series worth every penny. I am going to break down the episodes Season ...

A&E Literary Classics - The Romance Collection 2 Megaset (Horatio Hornblower / Nicholas Nickleby / Vanity ...1 review
Ioan Gruffud

A&E HOME VIDEO, 2005

Another British winner
Typical British quality of film production. Excellent acting, cinematography, writing, directing with beautiful sets and locations. Each film is a total delight. The only negative is that only some of these films have Closed Captions for the hearing impaired. This is a major short coming for those that do not hear or do not hear well.

The Last Dragon250 reviews

The Last Dragon Fan Review
This is a very good quality movie, but I am a little bias. I grew up watching this movie and hearing quotes from it from my older brothers. It has a fair amount of action and some music that will get stuck in your head by the end. I thought the movie had a good unique personality for an action/music/romance/comedy movie. It is from the '80s so fans of strictly newer movies may not like this ...

Terror Train72 reviews

The Bonfire of the Vanities67 reviews
Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis

Warner Home Video, 2004

The truth shall set you free, and if it doesn't,... LIE LIKE HELL!
I saw this film in the theaters as a teenager having not read or even heard of the book. I really enjoyed it because of the actors, the characters and their backstories. I just love satire. I hadn't even heard of Reverand Al. Now, this movie still amuses me, but on more levels. A year after I saw this film, I took a cinema class in college, where the instructor blamed the trashing of the film on ...

Vanity Fair (A&E, 1998)46 reviews
Danielle Hawley, Paul Brightwell

A&E Home Video, 2003

The last word on Thackeray's satirical masterpiece
If you are considering a dramatic rendition of Vanity Fair, this BBC production is definitely the most superior. Becky Sharpe is played by Natasha Little and it is a wonder this actor has not been seen much since: She is magnificent in this role - manipulative, delightful and 'Sharpe as a tack' as Thackeray intended. (Nb. she actually played the part of the sweet natured Lady Jane Sheepshanks ...

Cannon Movie Tales Finally on DVD!
Sid Caesar stars as The Emperor in this Cannon Movie Tales musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's popular fairy tale. You Are Special8 reviews

Thomas Nelson Pub., 2003

Great story but confusion in ordering
This a great story dvd for children and adults. I think some of the other reviewers had the same problem I did. I ordered from another seller in the new and used section and I received the DVD Read & Sing Along version which is a story book version that is a little lower production value and not animated just snapshots. I kept mine because I think it will good for when my kids are old enough to ...

Craig Ferguson as Crawford Mackenzie -- Fantastic
Craig Ferguson plays Scottish hairdresser Crawford Mackenzie, Glasgow's finest, who comes to the United States for a haircut competition. His adventures from start to finish are truly comical and any fan of Craig would be very happy with this purchase.

Vanity Fair (1932)3 reviews
Conway Tearle,Barbara Kent Myrna Loy

Alpha Home Entertainment, 2006

Good movie but not so good DVD...
You get what you pay for with public domain films that have not been re-mastered for quality. I recommend this DVD if you are wanting to see the early Myrna Loy or love the story of Vanity Fair, but do not expect great quality. The sound is muffled and whiny and the video is somewhat degraded. This is not a thrilling movie, but I am glad I've seen it and do not regret my purchase.

Action Jackson25 reviews
Carl Weathers, Craig T. Nelson

Warner Home Video, 1999

Takes off into the Bad Movie stratosphere with the arrival of Sharon Stone and Vanity.
"Some say his mother was molested by Bigfoot, and Jackson is their mutant offspring," a policeman explains -- no, not about Michael Jackson, but about the Detroit cop, ex-serviceman, and Harvard Law School grad played by Carl Weathers, who's hot on the trail of psychotic auto magnate Craig T. Nelson (named "Dellaplane" -- we couldn't possibly be meant to think him John DeLorean-esque now, could ...

The Last Boy Scout / Dead-Bang / Action Jackson1 review
Carl Weathers, Craig T. Nelson

Warner Home Video, 2006

Bang Bang for your buck
Three some what underrated over the top actioners from the glorly days of macho bulls***, I loved these flicks when I was a kid, and the kid in me still does. These aren't your waterdown PG-13, PC, wimpy sappy crappy crud like today. These ones come from back in the day when action was R-rated and men were unapolgicly macho, no mama's boys just needing a good hug. First up is Tony Scott's THE ...

Vanity, Richard Sargent

Jef Films, 2005

gigantopithicus, bigfoot, sasquatch, apeman, creature film with heart!
much like 'missing link' creature designers Rick Baker and Rob Bottin once again do outstanding work to make this average exploitation film into a standout piece of monster/creature/guy in apesuit art! The gorilla is just simply the best suit ever accumplished - only Harry (Henderson's) rivals it for genious! if you have a liking for randy apes - naked women (Vanity is insane) and heros that are ...
