best guitarist nowadays
for me, alexi is the best guitar god nowadays. learning from him on this DVD are the best thing. i love the way he use alternate picking. but, the disappoint, thare are no songs to learn from first three albums. Alexi is not ego maniac. he willing to share his skills, powerful licks and heavy riffs.

dvd excellence
Dream theater will always be my favorite band of all time. Simply because all of the members are virtuosos in their own forte. John petrucci is the most creative tasteful guitarist i can think of. And it is really amazing this band has made such a huge impact on the listeners over the years by having almost zero radio play. This dvd really makes you feel like you were in the audience. If you are ...

This package far exceeded my expectations. These musicians are great. I have been listening to Frank's music since the late 60s', and this is by far the best performance of his material since his death. Highly reccomended! Dweezil has done a wonderful job of honoring his father.

Simply brilliant
Great music from one of the most brilliant composers of the second half of last century. Everybody's performance was incredibly precise, enjoyable, and so relaxed, while playing some of the most complicated tunes I can think of. I just missed Keep it greasey, but I guess that it's impossible to please everybody, with so many albums to choose from. Thanks Dweezil, for bringing back your father ...

It's all good, all 3 memebers of G3 do it justice. John Petrucci's solo work was amazing. Steve and Joe of course give you thier high standards of excellence as expected. Let it rip.

Magnificence from the days when rock DIDN'T suck
Allright, allright, I confess, I did NOT buy this from Amazon. I didn't know this DVD existed, I just happened to stumble upon it while Christmas shopping at...Borders. (Crash of thunder!! Whinnying of horses!!) Hell, I had never even heard of EJ untill one fateful day in the early 90's when I first heard "Cliffs of Dover" on the radio. Having survived the 70's, and (mostly) enjoyed the ...

A cool Buckethead scrap book!
With all the polarized reviews floating around, I feel the need to weigh in as a long-time Buckethead fanatic. In a sense, it's as simple as this: If you're a super fan who likes Buckethead even when he's weird and lo-fi playing fast guitar along with cheesy drum machines and Texas Chainsaw Massacre samples, you'll love this DVD. If you're expecting a slick concert DVD in the style of the major ...

A captivating Carnegie Hall debut
I had looked forward to purchasing this DVD for quite a while. I was privileged to be in the audience at Carnegie Hall when this recital was filmed on Oct. 21st,1990. What a splendid event, and what glorious music making. The Midori-Live at Carnegie Hall DVD captures a brilliant musician marvelously displaying her extraordinary gifts in a program that features works by Mozart, Richard Strauss, ...

Fantastic
As a long time fan of Satch, I very much enjoy this DVD. Picture quality is great, and sound quality is nothing less than superb. I found the camera work to be fine, as I don't need to see every note being played. There are plenty of up close shots of Joe's outstanding axmanship, and I like to see the other players as well. Personally, I'd buy this DVD for "Made of tears", and the extended ...

Finally available in DVD ... and double the time!
I've been waiting for this one to come out in DVD format for some time as I have the VHS tape version and even the tape version was difficult to find! In the DVD version, the Amazon write-up indicates "160 minutes" [sic] whereas the exact VHS tape version was/is 80 minutes so obviously the DVD version has additional bonus material. So too and 'I' was the one some time back who made the grand ...

Hilariously funny
Once again, this Red Green tape is a one-hour collection of scenes from the excellent Red Green show. As might be expected, the majority of them are Handyman Corner skits, but they are quite excellent, and I only recognized a couple from other Red Green tapes. (Nearly all are new to me, as my local PBS station stopped carrying Red right after the last telethon - where they announced that they ...

Pretty Cool
The music is good (although not my favorite of Buckethead's)...with decent quality audio and video. Maximum Bob is off the charts; this dvd is worth it just to see him perform on stage. Also some funny non-musical footage of Buckethead when he was younger (with a sock hat prior to KFC era). Overall likely not the best video footage of Buckethead, a must have for any true fan.

Young Buckethead Vol. 1
Enjoying Buckethead like I do I truly dig this DVD. The main reason I gave 4 stars is because of the video/audio quality. This is mainly because it was an 8mm transfer to DVD. Other than that it is a thoroughly enjoyable video to watch and learn from.

Mr. Moore is one very soulful blues/rock guitarist
Gary's performance is not perfect for this show but it is very good. There is a song or two here where he seems a bit tired and doesn't quite move me like his studio recordings do. But remember the main show here includes 16 songs. On most of the show he plays like a man inspired. Standouts to me are "The Messiah Will Come Again", "Parisienne Walkways" (from the bonus set) and "The Stumble". ...
