You Only Live Twice209 reviews
Sean Connery, Akiko Wakabayashi

MGM (Video & DVD), 2007

Bond lives a million lives with this extraordinary DVD reissue!
You Only Live Twice is Connery's best portrayal of 007. Here, an accident happens in space which pushes Earth closer and closer to World War III, and now, James Bond is sent to Japan to investigate, when all of a sudden, he stumbles upon a Japanese space base, which plans to launch a satellite and instigate global warfare. Truly this is a great film and my favorite Connery 007 portrayal, it was ...

Joe Versus the Volcano165 reviews
Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan

Warner Home Video, 2002

Overlooked Masterpiece
Great story, dry humor, fine acting, and campy effects. Who knew that sharks growled? As far as the DVD goes, my copy had the disc's picture printed twice; one on top, and slightly askew of the other. Amazon quickly replaced it at no cost to myself. I wasn't about to argue that with them.

Yoga Kids, Vol. 2: ABC's for Ages 3-642 reviews
Marsha Wenig

Gaiam, 2004

Holiong her interest more now that she's older
We've had these dvds for 3 yrs. This one has recently been my daughter's favorite. She's 5 now and appreciates that the poses are ABC related and in order. She likes making the animal moves and it just adds to the other 2 in the series. Great for kids...keeps them active and engaged.

Weird Al Yankovic - The Ultimate Video Collection84 reviews
'Weird Al' Yankovic, Jon Schwartz

Volcano, 2003

Wonderful Weird Al
Perfect Gen-X humor! I laugh every time I watch these videos, and I've watched them several times. I'm grateful his irreverent humor is mostly G or PG rated, as opposed to most of the "anything goes" programming on most TV stations. Weird Al is clever with his humor, the music is as about as close to the real version as you can get without being sued, and he never fails to entertain. Look for ...

Robert Duvall, Téa Leoni

Paramount, 2004

Deep Impact vs. Armageddon
Deep Impact is way WAY better than Armageddon. The writing is better. The acting is better. It is smarter, more real, more thoughtful, more effective.

Volcano92 reviews
Tommy Lee Jones, Anne Heche

20th Century Fox, 1999

Volcano
In 1997 there were two eagerly anticipated volcano movies released. Dante's Peak was more of a blockbuster hit, but not very accurate from a geologist's standpoint. Volcano was more realistic and accurate. It was nice to see a disaster movie depicted as it would naturally happen. Tommy Lee Jones and Anne Heche were wonderful to watch!

Weird Al Yankovic - Live47 reviews
Weird Al Yancovic

Volcano, 2000

Al live is a must see!!
Weird Al Yankovic live, comes off just as fun as one of his movies or songs would. This DVD is a live recording of one of his concerts that he had after the release of his Running with Scissors album. The best part is that the concert isn't just of the songs that were on that latest album, but full of many of his old favorites that many Weird Al fans have been hooked on for years. Dare to Be ...

One of the Best DVD sets

Volcano, 2005

worth the money
This dvd is a must for all Tool fans. The video is directed by Adam Jones and is another computer generated masterpiece and is mixed in 5.1 digital sound making it even better watching through a good home entertainment system!!!!!! The best part of this dvd is the 20+ minute remix of the song "Schism", this is a great version of the song!!!!!!!!The packaging is also great, nothing compares to ...

National Geographic - Volcano!5 reviews
National Geographic

National Geographic Video, 2003

Real Toasted Coast!
This is one of NGs better productions - partially because the subject itself is so fascinating - partially because of the spectacular footage of the eruptions of Mt Unzen (Japan) and the famous blast at Mt Pinatubo some years ago. Overall, the program gives a good general description of the geological issues, the different types of eruptive activity, as well as larger historical and disaster ...

Pompeii - The Last Day/Colosseum - A Gladiator's Story16 reviews
Jim Carter, Emily Canfor-Dumas

BBC Warner, 2005

A Gladiator's Story a huge success
A Gladiator's Story has several great things going for it, but the strongest is its factually-based story. The cinematography captures the scenes wonderfully, without becoming a cheesy over-produced extravaganza. By incorporating simple Latin phrases in the dialog, the introductory Latin student is hooked, and the Roman life details help the viewer to identify with aspects of humanity ...

Under the Volcano - Criterion Collection19 reviews
Albert Finney, Jacqueline Bisset

Criterion Collection, 2007

An Existential Epic!!!
Firstly, I have never read the cult novel which is the basis of the film. I am reviewing the film as just that - a film - and what a film this is! A class act - and an acting class all-in-one. Albert Finney is pitch-perfect in every instance: voice and body language are used to create an absolutely authentic characterization of the Consul. (When Mr. Finney was not awarded the Oscar for his ...

All of the Cirque shows are marvelous (Haven't seen a bad one yet). But this is just delightful. The "end" segment is just the best. Can't go wrong buying this one!!
