EXCELLENT SERIES! GLAD TO HAVE THIS ON DVD!
With so few newer shows out there that I enjoy, it's nice to be able to go back in time when TV shows were...well.......really good! This is a fine example of TV in it's prime. Well written stories, great acting and FX, drive these Sci-Fi adventures. I have read that there are some glitches with some of the disc. I have had no problems....yet! I will add information if I do find any problems. ...

Ready for another voyage to the bottom of the sea part 2
This season was filmed in colour and was very very good and with the introduction of the colour it gave it more deph and made things look more scary and they even did a better job in hiding the strings on objects that need string to float. The only problem I have with these and Land Of the Giants are the double sided business and putting four on one side and two on the second side. The problem ...

What a good old day?
When I was a kid in 80s, I hardly watched this TV Sci-Fi Series because they showed so late at 10epm after late night news in Indonesia. Now I have just had and watched them all in DVD. What a good old day, eh?? Good for collection and good to know how we feel about Sci-Fi in 60s. So don't count on just good stories in this series! just watch them if you'd like to.

"....A truly must have for fans of the TV series......"
This is the movie that started it all for VTTBOTS fans, they cleaned it up, added some extras, repackaged it on it's own (used to be on a disc with FANTASTIC VOYAGE) and what a fine job they did too, an all-star cast with Walter Pidgeon, Peter Lorre, Frankie Avalon & Barbara Eden are all aboard the submarine Seaview on top of the world on sea trials for what everyone calls "Nelson's Folly" but ...

VBOTS rules!
I liked this volume too. Remember it's still in black and white. But there's nothing you can do about it. Episodes are still very interesting.

Haven't seen since they originally aired. Great to see again!
I watched this show back when it originally aired and I haven't seen it since. It was really great to see it again. Picture quality was great and the discs played flawlessly. I'd love a ride in the flying sub!

Very enjoyable
This must have been a two part mini series. We started the movie, got a long ways in, and it said to be continued. The second part is also on this DVD. I think it is about 3 hour long total on the 1 DVD disk. The story is fine, and the filming is good. Over all an excelent choice to sit back an enjoy a long pleasent relaxing evening.

The third great science fiction film of the 1960's
Sci-fi fans will, more than likely, consider two films from 1968 as being the best of the genre: "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Planet of the Apes. To that duo, however, I would like to add "Fantastic Voyage," from two years earlier and also from Twentieth Century Fox, the studio that released "Planet" and its seguels. As fans and film buffs know, "Voyage" tells the tale of a special team ...

This whole collection is great, but it's still missing interviews with the other living actors in the special features. Where are them?

The Wait Is Over !
Finally the BR of this Harryhausen masterpiece has been released. The dynamation sequences are superb, almost like watching them on the big screen and with Ray's voice-over the whole movie takes on a new life. The BR transfer of the cyclops makes him seem as alive as he'll ever be, it gave me goosebumps. Be reminded that this is a 50-year-old movie though so don't expect the transfer to be crisp ...

De Sica, Rosselini, Visconti, Fellini and Antonioni get the Scorsese treatment
There has never been any doubt about Martin Scorsese's power and skill as a filmmaker, so it is essential to acknowledge too that he was a film lover first and always. His documentary My Voyage to Italy is a four hour (or so) master class (I surely reiterate what has been written before) and love letter to the Italian cinema that shaped him and probably every filmmaker aware enough to enjoy and ...

I was so surprised at this DVD. Everything about it is topnotch and my jaw dropped several times. My only gripes are that there are no chapter breaks and little in the way extras.

Two historic benchmarks in sci-fi and special effects....
Irwin Allen may never be recognized as one of the USA's greatest film directors a la Kazan, Welles, Stevens, Coppola, or Kubrick, but he has given us some fine and truly imaginative science fiction over the 60's-70's. "Fantastic Voyage" is a case in point. A trip thru "inner-space"--the human body--this film's premise, although strictly fantasy, was an absorbing and fascinating glimpse into ...

Hilarious and tender movie
My title sounds like a romantic comedy, but watching the Enterprise crew trying to fit in with the 1980s world is just great. The back story of the hump back whale is also a lesson to all of us about what can happen if we do not wake up and take care of Gods creatures. Some people consider this movie silly because of the ease of time travel whenever convenient, but that is why it is called ...

A Genius!
Practically everyone who loves Planet Earth doesn't know who David Attenborough is! What a tragedy. The fact that Sigorney Weaver narrated the Discovery Channel broadcast is obscene. Sir Attenborough is a genius of his time and we are lucky to have his talent available to us. This dvd is a tribute to him and a treat for us. Lots of previously hard to get documentaries and a biography are worth it ...

False widescreen as usual
Just a quick note to anyone who sees this: as usual, these are not the true widescreen presentations. If you watch the full screen presentation and pick any scene with good border definitons, and then find the same scene in the widescreen version, you'll notice the edges have been edited over with black to create a widescreen appearance. In other words, instead of viewing MORE visual borders of ...

Monsters! Monsters! Monsters!
With most boxed sets, the DVDs are linked by an actor (like Errol Flynn), director (like Sergio Leone) or genre (such as noir). It is rare to see sets with something else in common, but this is the case with The Fantastic Films of Ray Harryhausen. While I suppose it could be argued that these are related because they are fantasy movies, in truth, it is Harryhausen who unites them: there aren't ...
