Another awesome play adaptation!
For some reason, I love film adaptations of plays. The most effective ones involve two-four characters in one setting, such as WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF, TAPE, and OLEANNA. You can now add BUG to that list. Ashley Judd, Michael Shannon, and Harry Connick Jr all deliver excellent performances in this film. From the title (and the way in which it was marketed) you would think that this ...

Much Better than "Eastern Promises"
If you are going to watch one film about the underbelly of Russian crime, this is the one. I swear, this film hit me so hard that at times I felt as if I would vomit. It is that heartbreaking, that deep. All of the stories are incredibly sad, but for me none more so than the poor little children sold into the sex trade (one shockingly by her own father) who were eleven and younger in the ...

Why no widescreen on this DVD?!
I don't know why certain DVDs released during this time were only released in Fullscreen, this DVD being one I'm dying to see released in Widescreen. I know my question is rhetorical & it won't be anytime soon, but I ask it nonetheless. The other thing that boggles my mind is that the Austin Powers movies thrived and this one didn't. I guess the more perverse and foul a movie somehow makes it a ...

Light On Plot, Heavy on The Funny
I think, to fully appreciate the hilarious plight of these characters, you had to have worked at either a diner or fast food place at one time in your life. Otherwise, it might be a bit hard to cheer for these guys as they do disgusting--yet always side-splittingly funny--things to the food of the rude customers. This movie manages to show the bizarre comradery, rivalry, and hilarity that ...

We love this movie!
My daughter and I absolutely love this movie. Eloise is a very cute little girl trying to help out, but always managing to cause some chaos. Julie Andrews role is exceptionally funny as well. A great holiday movie tradition, or one to watch any time of the year that you would like to see a lighthearted, feel good, leave you smiling movie.

The Fifteen Minute Test
On a whim, my wife and I checked out this movie in the theaters a few months ago--and loved it. So we brought it home on DVD tonight to watch with our teen daughter and her boyfriend. "What's it about?" she wanted to know. I tried to explain it was about a Mexican soccer star who's done jail time, and a NY waitress who's pregnant and loses her job...And then I said, "Just watch it with us. If ...

very good
This one I rented ,not knowing what to expect. But when I watched it, I really didn't want it to end. This was a very good movie. Very suspensful, and believable. Just when you think somebody is busted ,they squirm away in a very believable manner. It's not all fake and contrived like all these movies these days. Everybody seems so calm and collected in movies, but not this one. And the most ...

Just when you think it is no hope, This movie inspired me and allowed me to see that there is still hope for single females. I have shown this movie in my home to others and they love it. I am trying to find the sound track.

The Company is a Beautiful Film to Watch
I hardly paid attention to the weak story line of The Company. Only Malcolm McDowell's character as the ballet director is adequately developed. Neve Campbell is always nice to look at. Still, I learned little about the actual dancers. But forget about all of that. The Company is gorgeous. I immensely enjoyed the dancing and training scenes. This alone justifies watching the film from ...

good movie, worth a watch
I think "Ask the Dust" succeeds as a film in that it gets the viewer emtoionally involved and suspends disbelief. The movie was not bad, and it was in fact great. The filming and sets were very authentic. But it was the acting that made the movie good. Salma Hayek proved that she is an artist by displaying her skill as an actress. She was fiesty and at times mean, but also vulnerable and loving. ...

Great collection of films by Coop
Gary Cooper is my favorite actor and this is an excellent collection to showcase his diversity as an actor. The Winning of Barbara Worth is a silent film made in 1926 and was his first credited screen appearance. The story revolves around a young woman named Barbara Worth, her family and other members of the town they live in out in the Nevada desert where they are trying to reroute the ...

Wedding Daze
I have not seen a movie so simple and touching for a long time. The casts are easy and the whole story is so romantic (somewhat not very real). I would recommand this movie to all the people who lives with love. This is a wonderful movie. I need one for my collection.

A beautiful, emotional film
Because so many people see Heather Graham as the typical blonde bimbette with big breasts who cannot act, they are going to miss out on one of the greatest performances of her career. She is simply amazing in BROKEN, along with another actor I love, Jeremy Sisto. Both of them give extraordinary performances in this edgy, gritty, yet extremely emotional story about how people turn to drugs to deal ...

Funny, sweet and true to life
This is a wonderful film. A refreshing, bright and approachable tale about how a young woman's life after college. It shows life from Sarabeth's point of view; she's not always right, she's sometimes annoying and she makes mistakes. But she is real. This is a great story that hasn't been seen before but still feels familiar. A gem! :)

great film but worst dvd transfer ever!
this is a great film , a very important film and the other reviews are very accurate.... HOWEVER the quality of the film transfer to DVD is abysmal, apart from being non-anamorphic,(if STRAND is charging top dollar we should at least get a higher definition anamorpic transfer for the money) this dvd looks like a 3rd generation bootleg remastered on somebodys home computer, unbelievable ...
