Hong Kong Phooey - The Complete Series22 reviews
Alan Oppenheimer, Ron Feinberg

Turner Home Ent, 2006

Fond Memories
Honk Kong Phooey is much as I remember it, very good. If you remember the series, then you know that Hong Kong always gets his man... even if it's by accident or with the help of Spot, his cat. This show takes me back to a simpler time of fun and Saturday morning cereal. The animation is definately 70's, but is still vibrant and holds up well. The sound is good and Scatman Crothers is great ...

Abbott and Costello: The Complete Universal Pictures Collection10 reviews
Bud Abbott, Stan Irwin

Universal Studios, 2008

Defending Universal - Don't Listen to Naysayers!
A lot of people who are trashing Universal about this excellent release simply don't know what they're talking about: 1.) For starters, you have to know that when Universal originally released their other 4 volumes of Abbott & Costello on DVD, the movie IT AIN'T HAY was unable to be included due to rights issues and so it was not able to be included. Now this problem has been rectified. ...

Josie and the Pussycats - The Complete Series23 reviews
Janet Waldo, Jackie Joseph

Turner Home Ent, 2007

"NEAT, SWEET, GROOVY SONGS--YOU'RE INVITED, COME ALONG!"
Saturday morning nostalgia reigns supreme with the delightful DVD release of the original animated "JOSIE & THE PUSSYCATS." When I was a little boy, my Saturday morning TV ritual included both "SCOOBY DOO, WHERE ARE YOU?" and "JOSIE." Both shows have a lot in common-- and not just because Casey Kasem provided the voice for both "Scooby-Doo's" Shaggy and "Pussycats" manager Alexander Cabot III-- ...

Amazing and underappreciated.
Wow, this one completely caught me off gaurd. This is a movie more people should know about, but do to it's heavily censored release it has not been availible for many years in it's full uncut form. Now thank's to Dark Sky film's we have a beautiful print of a beatiful movie. Opening with about ten minutes of documentary footage of numerous war's throughout history and horrific images of mass ...

The people on here complaining because it doesn't have Spanish - SHUT UP! Learn English, you are in America! You CERTAINLY need to be teaching your kids English...stop being ridiculous with these ignorant complaints. Only complain about this product if it has an ACTUAL defect. If you don't like it being in English, don't buy it. I personally found this product awesome, and will be great ...

Thoreau's Walden2 reviews

Photovision, 2006

Recommended
Great DVD for anyone that wants to see Walden Pond and learn about Thoreau. Excerpts from the book "Walden" are illustrated with outstanding nature photography of the famous retreat in Massachusetts. The DVD is like a field trip to Walden Pond! As a long time Thoreau fan and teacher, received as gift. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys nature. Also, excellent tool for teaching Thoreau ...

Great movie
This is a great movie I enjoy watching this movie with my cousins who also enjoyed it. We love the song with the birdss and got wild and crazy over that song. But my younger cousins got kind of scared of the part with the owel but there okay. I think this movie has alot of teaching to get out on your own an take care of yourself thats what these 3 kids had to do in the movie. GREAT MOVIE

WATERLOO BRIDGE 1940 FILM - WITH INCREDIBLE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN VIVIEN LEIGH AND ROBERT TAYLOR.
Waterloo Bridge (Made 1940) is set during World War I, it stars Vivien Leigh as Myra, who's profession at that time was a young ballerina in London, while looking for cover from another air raid she meets a soldier Roy Cronin (Robert Taylor) who's very carefree but also a romantic and is simply swept away by Myra's beauty. Classic Superman - Finally Released!
What a thrill that this has been released! I grabbed it immediately - simple packaging (the cover art is a little TOO simple), complete series AND great value for money. For me, the episodes were just as entertaining as they were when I first saw them as re-runs in the 70s and early 80s. As much as I enjoyed the Superfriends in their different incarnations, I prefered the Filmation Superman - I ...

Wide! Screen! Wide! Screen! Wide! Screen!
I refused to buy this on DVD for years. If they reissue it again on full screen I will still refuse to buy it. The day they release it on wide screen then I will get a copy at once. This is one of those films that I must have in my collection, but the WHOLE THING, not just the main part in the middle. I don't have anything to add to the excellent review by Ralph R. Echtinaw: I agree with ...

The Best Cartoons came outta the 1960's
I have seen the series recently on The Cartoon Network with the original series the characters came out from 'Wacky Races'. Much better than the cartoon characters on these days.

BUY IT ONLY FOR THE ORIGINAL GATCHAMAN EPS. BOTP [STINKS]!
as an avid fan of anime, i watched the original epidsodes of captian harlock, cyborg 009, space cruiser yamato (star blazers for the uninitiatied!) and gatchaman back in the day. i was disgusted how american distribitors like sandy frank and saban (who aired gatchaman f1 as the kiddified eagle riders several years back) would butcher gatchaman from it's original content. at least carl macek ...

Making the Grade16 reviews
Judd Nelson, Jonna Lee

MGM (Video & DVD), 2001

Movie memories
Judd Nelson is great in this comedy. He's a street wise guy, wanted for a debt, who hides out at a prep school, pretending to be a student who wants to skip without notice. As a former prep school student, this brought back memories. The humor is still sharp, not dated, and Andrew 'Dice' Clay is in his element here as well.

The Man Called Flintstone23 reviews
Alan Reed, Mel Blanc

Turner Home Ent, 1966

In Like Flintstone
In the '60s, cartoons made for the big screen had a charm all their own (check out the Pink Panther movie shorts). For Hanna Barbera, they would include Hey There It's Yogi Bear, The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones, and A Man Called Flintstone. When the Peanuts specials made animated featurettes on TV a regular feature, other animated specials tended to seem like drawn-out shorts with musical ...

CustomFlix, 2007

A Man of Peace
The lyrics to Jill Jackson's and Sy Miller's simple, beautiful 1955 song say "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me." This DVD, written and directed by David Beardsley, offers an excellent introduction to the life and ideas of an essential American thinker whose pursuit of the indwelling peace that can overcome the world deserves serious attention from every American - and indeed ...

The Perils of Penelope Pitstop - The Complete Series10 reviews
Janet Waldo, Paul Winchell

Turner Home Ent, 2005

THE BEST OF THE THREE!!!!!!!!!
When I bought Wacky Races, I thought it was very exciting and entertaining. But when I got Dastardly & Muttley, it was slightly better, just shorter cartoons. Enter Perils Of Penelope Pitstop, this show was much better! It was more adventureous than it's predecessors. It had more of a hero, also. The only smidget flaw is that I think the villain needs a better laugh, but it's not a huge ...

The Little Rascals - Bear Shooters / Waldo's Last Stand / Dogs of War!1 review
June Marlowe, Norman 'Chubby' Chaney

Good Times Video, 2001

Ol Skool Fun
You have to love and apreciate Hal Roach and his little gang of rascals. Only 3 episodes but worth the price! I'm an amid watcher of the rascals but I've never seen Dogs of War, a silent short. Interesting to see a very young Farina, I mean he was a baby. Hal Roach must have really loved Farina because even as a baby he still was on the camera more than the others.

The Adventures of The Little Prince - The Complete Animated Series6 reviews
Hal Smith, Julie McWhirter

KOCH VISION, 2005

Great Memories
I must have been a very goofy kid, because this is a very goofy show. Over twenty years after its original airing on Nickelodeon, I still love this show. It has a sincerity that is rare for a cartoon, but it doesnt seem sappy or over done. I recommend this to any one born in the late 70's or early 80's who spent their afternoons looking at Nick. Was there a better time to be a kid than the 80's?
