Warning Shot5 reviews
David Janssen, Ed Begley

Paramount, 2005

Janssen at his best!
Warning Shot has been a personal favourite for many years. It stars David Janssen in what I consider to be one of his best screen roles; that of Sgt. Tom Valens. Without giving too much away, Valens is accused of shooting an innocent man, a doctor, while on a stakeout. He insists the doctor pulled a gun on him, but no such gun can be found at the scene. Can Valens find it and prove himself ...

Storm Warning - Authentic Region 1 DVD from Warner Brothers starring Ronald Reagan, Ginger Rogers, Doris Day, ...6 reviews

"Storm Warning": A Great American Classic
I just finished watching "Storm Warning". Let me tell you that it is a great movie. I have'nt seen many old moveis (only the original "Dracula") but I fell in love with this one. I am now an old movie fan. I origionaly got this because of Ronald Reagan, and he gives a great preformance, but the real magic is behind this allstar suppoeting cast. This was one of the best movies I have ever seen. I ...

Not only is she the security chief of this government installation, but their savior, for she alone carries the cure to the disease in her blood.

Warning Shadows - A Nocturnal Hallucination4 reviews
Alexander Granach, Max Gülstorff

Kino Video, 2006

Expressionist masterpiece
Why is this 1923 German film so obscure? I don't recall ever hearing of "Warning Shadows" until I ran across it here on amazon last week. It sounded sufficiently interesting, and although there is very little information on the movie anywhere, it was an impulse purchase. And a good one. This is one of the most fascinating and sexually-charged examples of early world cinema that I've come across. ...

Two-Minute Warning25 reviews
Charlton Heston, John Cassavetes

Universal Studios, 1998

Ok but not great 70's Thriller
I actually saw this movie at the theater in 1976. I thought it was an OK movie. It's about a lone sniper perched up in a tower shooting at anyone and everyone at a football game with 91,000 spectatators. Until now I never got to see the original again except for the edited and new scenes added, TV version because the original was not available for sale or rent. The scenes where some of the SWAT ...

Warning from Space13 reviews
Keizo Kawasaki, Toyomi Karita

Alpha Video, 2003

Warning it's boring...........
Brought this because it was cheap. I paid five bucks, still felt ripped-off. This is one boring movie. Something about a starfish from space warning people. There's alot of japanese giant monster classics that have not been release. Why this! If you'er a g-fan like me, stay with Godzilla, and Gamera. Starfish with one big eye c'mon.

Silent Warnings13 reviews
Stephen Baldwin, A.J. Buckley

Universal Studios, 2003

Creepy Cornfields
This plays like an alternate version of Signs. A young man inherits a small farm when his cousin dies in an accident. Ha and a group of friends visit the farm in hopes of fixing it up and selling it. But what is going on in the cornfields? Crop circles appear in the corn and noises are heard. Someone sees a figure. Then someone disappears. At this point things start to really get creepy. ...

The Nazis - A Warning from History18 reviews
Samuel West, Fritz Arlt

BBC Warner, 2005

Pack a lunch and pay attention
Set aside an entire day, pack a lunch and pay attention. Not only is there amazing footage in this film that I haven't seen anywhere else, but the attention to detail is astonishing. It's painful history, so be prepared. There is more about Hitler and the Nazis and the SS than there is about the holocaust, which is not the point of this presentation. What is the point are the politics of Hitler ...

disturbingly provacative
This movie is a great thrill ride.It kept me totally intuned, very provacative.A look into the depravity of mankind. The level of humiliation the victims must indure is disturbing. I loved the spin on this movie. An excellent addition to my collection.

A Global Warning? (History Channel)3 reviews
Global Warning

A&E HOME VIDEO, 2008

If this doesn't get your attention, nothing will...
Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" got all the hype and awards. The History Channel's "A Global Warning?" only gets the Joe Friday award - "Just the facts, ma'am, just the facts." If you want to understand why global warming is real and why we need to address the issue now, this is your documentary. It is substance, substance, substance. No grandstanding, no histrionics, no tear-jerking ...

Live in Athens21 reviews
Fates Warning

Inside Out U.S., 2005

A must for any progressive metal fan
I had my concerns about this DVD after watching the poorly produced "Live at Dynamo" Fates Warning DVD and realizing Mark Zonder wasn't playing drums in "Live in Athens", but after hearing the first notes of "One", and watching the overly enthusiastic Greek crowd and the great light show, all my fears were erased and i was soon enthralled about what a great band Fates Warning is and what an ...

Warnings From the Ice - NOVA1 review
Warnings From the Ice - NOVA

WGBH BOSTON, 2008

Kinda Eggheadish
WARNING: Any kind of discussion of penguins is minimal here. Fans of "March of the Penguins" should be ware. If I could wave a wand, both poles would be protected from global warming. Still, this work didn't feel as compelling as works that focus on the North Pole. When I see photos of baby walruses drowning and hearing that caribou and polar bears and all kinds of species to the North will ...

Mr. Moto's Last Warning10 reviews
Peter Lorre, Ricardo Cortez

Alpha Video, 2002

Where are the other Moto films?
This is a good entry in the Mr. Moto canon, which comprises 8 films made between 1937-39. It is not my favorite, however--Mr. Moto Takes a Vacation, with excellent performances by Lionel Atwill and Joseph Schildkraut, is the best of those I've seen. However, they have been very hard to find, and I've only seen about half of them. Lorre is wonderful as the mysterious Mr. Moto, and the films are ...

Fates Warning: Live at the Dynamo7 reviews

Metal Blade, 2000

A must-have, despite its flaws
A Pleasant Shade of Gray is not quite suited to a day-outdoor-live setting. Furthermore, this is not a show that FW headlined, so the set-up and fans are not really geared towards FW. To make things worse, the recording and production quality is hugely dissapointing. Nevertheless, it is still essential to see these guys perform their tastefully complex material live so flawlessly. Unless you've ...

Tornado Warning3 reviews
Gerald McRaney, Thea Gill

Peter Pan, 2004

Good Plot and Great Special Effects
This PAX original movie has wonderful special effects--some of the tornadoes look like actual tornadoes instead of CGI! The plot is good as well. Gerald McRaney (Promised Land) gives an outstanding performance as Jake Arledge, a storm chaser who tries to prove to his estranged daughter (Thea Gill) and nearly everyone else that his tornado warning system really DOES work. If you're a fan of ...

60 Minutes - Global Warning (February 19, 2006)1 review

CBS, 2006

Not worth it!
Well, it was mildly informative, talked mostly about the decreasing population of polar bears. What really got me angry was how the entire dvd only lasts for about 15-20 mins. I know the name of the show is "60 Mins" but come on, for this price, a 20 min dvd is hardly worth it. They do not post the Running Time anywhere on the cover.

The View from Here7 reviews
Fates Warning

Metal Blade, 2003

A must have for Fates Warning fans
If you are a fan of Fates Warning, you can't live without this DVD. The MTV videos are cool, but the best part of the DVD is the bootleg videos and the footage of the band in the studio for Parallels and Disconnected and the interviews with Frank Aresti and Joe DiBiasi. If only they would have included some old John Arch-era bootlegs...

Dante's Peak165 reviews
Pierce Brosnan, Linda Hamilton

Universal Studios, 1998

The featurette alone is worth the price of the DVD
The making of... featurette was worth the price of the DVD. It was well made and informative. The commentary was excellent as well. I had already owned a laser disk copy of this film when I purchased it which was well done in terms of visual and audio so purchasing the DVD definitely gave me value adds in terms of the extras. The film itself is well done if you like drama and action thrills.

Without Warning6 reviews
Adam Williams, Meg Randall

Mpi Home Video, 2005

"And while the killer slept the machinery of the law slipped into gear."
I'm happy that this little known noir gem is finally available on DVD, especially with such a crisp picture, but I wish they had thrown in some extras. Maybe a few trailers, an audio commentary would have been great. Carl Martin is a mild mannered lawn care guy. He seems normal enough with a respectable job and a cozy house, but I knew something was wrong with him the second he started madly ...
