Great movie that will become a classic. Deniro and Pacino doesn't get any better than that, especially with all of the other actors involved. I have watched the film many times and will continue to do so.

5 Stars for the final 2 minutes...
I enjoyed this movie as a kid, but watched it recently and found it to be bloated and dated and not all that funny. However, the final two minutes are one of the most profoundly spiritual moments in the history of cinema. The lesson learned by Spencer Tracy's character, that life is inherently absurd and laughter is the best medicine for melancholy, is one that we can all benefit from. When ...

Refreshing technique used in story telling
Syriana is a great movie about what goes on behind the scenes in the corporate/political world and it shows how everyone, politician, military, intelligence, royalty, blue collar worker, media...is connected somehow. I watched this movie 4 times and the more I watched it, the more "clues" I gathered. This really isn't a movie where you can watch once and forget about it. This is NOT an action ...

THE ULTIMATE GIFT
THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST MEANINGFUL MOVIES FOR PARENTS TO WATCH WITH THEIR CHILDREN. IF PARENTS AND CHILDREN CAN LISTEN AND LEARN IT CAN CHANGE ATTITUDES FROM ENTITLEMENT TO CONTRIBUTION. THE MAJOR SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS IS THAT CONTRIBUTING TO OTHERS IS SO MUCH MORE FULFILLING THAN EXPECTING OTHERS TO GIVE TO YOU BECAUSE OF SOME DISTORTED BELIEF THAT OTHERS OWE YOU SOMETHING. TREATING OTHERS AS ...

Yes, it's believable (enough) & no, it's not Ferris Beuhler
Ferris and Charlie are both charismatic high school boys with authority issues and there the similarity ends. First of all, the big difference between Charlie Bartlett and Ferris Beuhler's Day Off lies in the movies' fundamental attitudes. Ferris Beuhler, a straight-forward comedy, is about the adventures of a charming high school guy who cleverly and somewhat endearingly cons his way out of ...

There Is A God
This is by far the best film to come out of a very experimental decade. Instead, this is a classic of traditional film-making, by a master of Hollywood drama. It is with films like this that one wants to say, "they don't make 'em like this anymore." Although the acting is, indeed, flawless and exhilarating as others have noted, it is finally the totality of the film that is so outstanding. The ...

As good as ever.
Steve Martin was all about the painfully obvious humor. Michael Caine is so much a stuffed shirt. What they have together here, however, is damned funny. I must have seen this better than a dozen times now but there are still laughs throughout. It's always nice as a small gift ^_^

Good Show!
Unfortunately, I got seasons 3 & 4 in the mail before 1 & 2, so I started watching season 3 and now I'm completely hooked. All I can say is Dallas is more exciting to me now (being in my early 30s) than it was to me 25 yrs+ ago when it was actually on TV. My mom has just ordered seasons 5-7 for my birthday for me and told me to order season 8 when it comes out as well. The only downside to ...

An "unmarriageble" girl
The Heiress (1949) is an outstanding movie - adaptation of the play by Augustus and Ruth Goetz, based on the novel "Washington Square" by great writer, Henry James, The drama of a young, shy, sweet, open to love, rather plain in her appearance but very rich girl takes place in New York City in the mid-1880s. Olivia de Havilland is excellent as Catherine, the heiress of the title, who fells in ...

Just as good as I remember
I remember watching this movie when I was a kid. I probaly haven't seen it in over 20 years. I purchased it so that I could share it with my daughter who is 14 years old. It was just as good as I remember. Shirley MacLaine's costumes are fabulous. I am still deciding which one of her husbands I'd pick as my favorite. By the way, my daughter liked it too! You can't go wrong.

Lust or Love? Which is it in this passionate story with a British twist?
Jonathan Rhys-Myers and Scarlett Johansson star in this smoldering story of lust, desire, and wealth. Chris, played by Rhys-Myers,is a tennis pro scraping out a living giving lessons, when he meets the son of a wealthy British family and develops a romance with his sister, Chloe, played by Emily Mortimer. Graciously accepted by the family, he becomes engaged to Chloe and is offered a lucrative ...
