A "must see" DVD
I saw this first on MSNBC, in fact I taped it...advertisements and all but when I saw I could get it on DVD I immediately ordered it. It is well done, it tells the story of a white man and a black man who have the same name. The white man's family owned the black man's family as slaves. This story tells how we can become "one nation" united, not divided. I urge everyone to see it and ...

I miss Flip Wilson - and the comedy/variety show format (!)
I was (9) years old when 'The Flip Wilson Show' hit the airwaves. It was one of those shows that the whole family sat down and watched. While all of the bits are good - and while it was great to see Flip in his various characters cavorting with his guest stars - I purchased this DVD primarily for the appearance by the Osmond Brothers singing 'Yo-Yo.' They had only recently left 'The Andy ...

Funny !!
Flip Wilson was such a wonderful & talented man. He was so funny without being nasty. We need more comedians like him, Bill Cosby and Lucy. People who are fun, funny and clean. This DVD is great to enjoy with others.

Great movie for the older members of a family
Tom Hawks and Julia Roberts do a good job, but I really think Philip Hoffman who is exceptional as the old, crusty, operative. My wife and I bought the DVD for our viewing and watched a couple of times when our son and daughter borrowed it to watch it with their friends. Everyone has really enjoyed it.

Nancy Wilson Instructional DVD
I have followed Heart ever since I was fifteen in 1977 though never got the chance to see them live due to only two of their concerts that I am aware of being in the UK and I was out of the UK for both of them. I had always wanted to play some of the numbers and this DVD fills in the gaps. Nancy has a no-nonsense open and straight way of communicating on this DVD and it contains some great solo ...

The real Charlie Wilson in his own words
If you want to meet the real Charlie Wilson and the real exchanges that took place as he forstered the Afgan effort to drive the Russians out of of Afganistan, then you'll want to see the History Channels "True Story". It involves so much detail about how things get done in Washington and in Congress that if your like me you'll watch it over and over. This is no movie made up by Hollywood, but, ...

Genius of Modern Theater
If you don't know Robert Wilson's work you don't know what genius you are missing. Many people know him principally through his work with Philip Glass on 'Einstein on the Beach'. But there is indeed a great deal more. This is a balanced overview of the work of one of the finest and most innovative dramatists of the 20th Century. His is a theater of images and artistic collaboration. ...

Just like being there
This DVD captures segments from a couple of Tim Wilson sets. I liked the one on one parts that are "extras" the best. Tim Wilson is the only comedian for me. But I am not real pleased with the turn he has taken to being more "blue" than in the past. He is better when he doesn't rely on shock language. But I'd still travel anywhere to see him, but until he comes close, I'll have this DVD

AMERICAN BAND Simply because I've seen "An American Band" and think its a bad way-in to the Beach Boys simply because their studio recordings are immortal yet this documentary stubbornly opts every time for the live version where the BB's slaughter the delicate arrangements they weren't allowed to play in the studio (Brian had studio musicians do the parts in the band's peak era (circa All ...

Buy this DVD if you are a fan of Robert Anton Wilson
If you are new to the writings of Robert Anton Wilson, maybe you have just heard of him or maybe you are a science fiction fan who has read only The Illuminatus Trilogy, then don't bother to get this video. If you are intrigued by this writer and want to hear more of his message, then just read more of his books. Any of his books will do; however, I shall recommend Cosmic Trigger, Schroedinger's ...

Participants backed by BW band are outstanding, Michael McDonald and Billy Preston (Don't Worry Baby), Jaime Cullum with Fred Martin and the Levite Camp (Sail on Sailor), John Legend (I just wasn't made for this time), Backstreet Boys (When I grow up to be a Man), Jeff Beck (Surf's Up and Surfing USA), Darlene Love (Wouldn't it Be Nice), Richie Sambora (City Blues). The greatest, the best
I remember when Flip Wilson started his shows on TV; it's been over 30 years now and I was just a child, but, to me each Thursday night, it was a treat as well as a privilege(couldn't watch it unless I did homework and learned my multiplication tables)to watch; but, now, I find that folks forgot what a great show that was all those years ago; To get this DVD is just a trip to remember all the ...

This is the best movie anyone has ever made. Gary Busey is at his insane best. I won't ruin the plot for you because I've never seen the movie, but I know it's good because I can feel it. My extra senses are seldom wrong, and after the nurse comes in to clip my toe nails and give me my medicine, I'll write another review.

Gary Wilson
Plexifilm, 2008
Championed by the likes of Beck and Matt Groening and obsessed over by record collectors, Wilson's 1977 album is widely considered one of the most unique and personal musical statements of the 70s. Inspired by the 2002 re-issue, director Michael Wolk filmed this documentary - a look at the fascinating yet bittersweet life of one of the most cherished seminal underground avant-rock musicians. DVD comes packaged with the newly re-issued 1977 album ...

A masterpiece
The concert disc in this set may is easily the best music DVD I've seen. The recording is absolutely pristine, to the point where I found myself beginning to question whether the sounds I was hearing were actually a live recording. The musicianship is superlative--the Wondermints form the core of the band, which makes that a given--and the performance spotless. And the camerawork and lighting are ...

It's got electrolytes
Wow! Great movie. This is the greatest horror movie I have ever watched in my life. It shows that nightmares can become real. All you have to do is to open the eyes to what is around you. It is scary. We do not have to wait 500 years for it to happen. It is happening right now. Watch it and learn from it. I am sure you are not going to be the same person, ever.
