The Wizard of Oz (Two-Disc Special Edition)626 reviews
Judy Garland, Stephen Cox (II)

Warner Home Video, 2005

The Wizard has it All.
"There's no place like home." Dorothy and her friends seek the answer to their desires in a land of dreams and nightmares. Brilliant use of color and sepia. Classic songs, incredible performances and special effects that still hold up today. One of my ten best.

Still a great film!
I thought this film would be way out-dated when I first picked it up, but even in the year 2008 I still consider this to be one of the best movies I have ever seen. It is incredibly imaginative and must have been pretty ground-breaking at the time having combined animation with a level of gore, nudity and an adult-target audience which previously hadn't been seen with animated films. The plot ...

Awesome
My granddaughter turned three years old Sept 1st and we gave her the Wizard of Oz movie. She loves it. Her mother had recorded it off of the T.V. including all the commercials and some how it was misplaced. We searched and searched the video stores for this movie when I decided to look online. You guys are awesome. Now my sweet granddaughter can watch her most favoritest movie in the whole ...

Still looks great!
I was surprised and happy! to see this has been made available to purchase as a DVD. I saw this when it was originally playing in theaters and I never forgot it. And I'm happy to report it still looks great. In fact, everything about this movie has stood the test of time. And that Includes the Floyd-ish soundtrack, which I purchased here as well. I watched this with my 10 year old, she dug ...

Blue Underground, 2005

Fire & Ice......"A must have for any Frank Frazetta & Ralph Bakshi fans!"
Fire & Ice is the combination of action, suspense, drama, mythical beasts, strong barbarians, voluptuous maidens, warlords, and witchcraft. The character creations in this movie is nothing short of a masterful piece of work! If your looking for any 1 reason to buy this movie(guys), "Teegra" in her barely there outfit is worth the price of admission alone! There's also another woman at the ...

Wizards of Waverly Place: Wizard School1 review
Selena Gomez, David Henrie

WALT DISNEY VIDEO, 2008

Light-hearted look at Wizardry
This is Harry Potter meets That's So Raven! Only there's not a lot of Harry Potter mystery going on. It's more of a comedy with a light-hearted look at what it would be like to be a wizard with real magical powers living in our non-magical world. The middle child, Alex, is always looking for ways to use her magic to speed things up or take the easy way out, but just like Raven--who tried to make ...

J.R.R. Tolkien Animated Films Set (The Hobbit/The Lord of the Rings/The Return of the King)74 reviews
Orson Bean, Richard Boone

Warner Home Video, 2001

Entertaining anf true to the books
These are entertaining movies that remain fairly true to the books. The animation is a little odd, especially in the Lord of the Rings where the orks seem to be real people. If you liked these as a kid and the 70s you will still like them now.

Classic
Now this movie is a classic. It starts off in black and white, then turns to colour when she goes into the land of Oz.Now the music and costumes in this movie were second to none. The movie itself was made in 1939.I saw this movie way back when i was a kid,and i can tell you it has lost none of its magic. That classic song Somewhere Over The Rainbow is a song that stands the test of time.

Real life cartoon
I saw this movie the first time when I was stationed in San Diego back in 1973. I couldn't believe it then and being able to buy it so many years later, I had told many of my friends about and they all thought I was crazy. A movie not for the kiddies, but it sure brings back memories of the times.

Genius Products (TVN), 2008

Reality/Illusion/Somewhere in the middle is Neither
I announce, with trembling, the remake of Hershell Gordon Lewis' "The Wizard of Gore" is a dazzling, brain jarring, reality bending and breaking masterpiece. The oft-asked, Why don't they take a crummy film and make a classic?--they have. A merging of so much complexity, directed and written and acted and lensed to highest artistry-this is a film to be noticed. It is one of those movies that says ...

$ per blood, you best gore purchase
Grrrra-la la la la la la.... My little gore heart is singing! What a great endeavor beyond the outskirts of the blood-stained offensive sickening boundaries of cinema! This movie is bloody brilliant. Very entertaining and fun for you lovers of the red stuff. This was my first look at ole H.G. Initially, when I seen the shady magician and heard his hokey speech to the crowd, I thought man, ...

A Great Film! Will some of the soundtrack ever see the day of light ?!?
This is a great movie and due to copyrights on the soundtrack I assume that's why it took this film forever to come back in print on any format. The vhs/beta tapes were released shortly after the film's theatrical release and then for the next 20 plus years was not rereleased. Yet, to this day the soundtrack has never been available on record, cassette or compact disc. Sure, since then some of ...

Wizard Of Oz: The Lost Original L. Frank Baum Versions1 review
Hal Roach, Oliver Hardy and more

St Clair Entertainment, 2008

TRUE classics.
For any person who is a true fan of The Wizard of Oz or any of L. Frank Baum's works, you will be delighted in these DVDs; however, keep in mind, these DVDs are from films of the early 20th century AND ARE SILENT. The company that compiled these lost films set them to their own music (which takes away from the films). I watched them with my television muted to fully appreciate them. Little ...
