If you don't want to use wi-fi or can't for any reason, this is a great alternative. As you long as you have an electrical outlet, you have an internet connection. The only limit is the length of your cable.

I bought this is to connect to ZyXEL's DMA1100P powerline DMA my friend gave me as a birthday gift. I am very happy with the performance how the DMA works with the Linksys. I can stream HD video from my computer to TV with no artifacts. It is a little bit pricy, but it works well.

Works great when it actually stays in the USB port.
I bought this product inorder to install it on a computer that was to narrow to accept full width network cards. From day 1 this device has given me problems. For starters it won't even stay seated in the USB port which causes my computer to be on the network at one moment and off the other. The device is also somewhat flimsy. I don't recommend it at all.
