Pretty great for the price.
It does what I wanted it to so I'm happy with it. I wanted a DVD player that would play .avi files and could not find a single one that I could actually afford. I tried my luck with this and it plays them! The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because it will occasionally take a couple of opening and closing the drawer for a burned DVD to load.

It's a fine $28 DVD player
It's cute and compact, easy to set up, and works fine. Don't expect something really high-tech and fancy and you won't be disappointed. The remote control is overly complex, but is easy to figure out.

I'm very impressed with this inexpensive player. It took me all of 10 seconds to apply the region-free hack. It plays both my NTSC Region 1 and PAL Region 2 disc great. It also plays my DVD-Rs with no problem. I don't have any DVD+Rs so I can't comment on the review of the guy who had a problem with them.
