Great kit to turn old internal hard drive into external hd
I upgraded the hard drive of my laptop, and I bought this enclosure so that I can make good use of the old hard drive. Installation instructions are very clear and easy to do. It uses power supplied by the USB port. I plug it into a PC running Windows XP and it's automatically recognized! It supports USB 2.0, and it's very fast indeed. Highly recommended!

Excellent product!
Having owned several Belkin KVM switches, and used other brands at various client sites, without a doubt this switch is the best. The Belkin Cube would lose sync with the mouse and keyboard several times every day. The IOGEAR has never skipped a beat. The keyboard sequences are far easier as well - control key twice, left to go to the left, right... well you get the idea

Now I can backup faster
I bought an external Hard drive that uses USB 2.0 OR ESATA. I looked into what the heck ESATA is - and HEY it faster! Now I use ESATA cables to back up my desk computer and my laptop. You have to plug in the power cable to a usb port for it to work (to power it, I assume) - but its fast.

Plug everything in and it works just great. You have to 'give focus' to each machine in turn, as they are being powered on (so the os can detect the monitor resolution (at least that's true for windows XP) ) but once both machines are powered up, you can flip between then just by pressing the little remote control switch.
