I've had the Sony EC77 for a month now and it's just what I was hoping for. It has the 3rd middle range on each speaker and is balanced quite well. I was concerned, at first, that the bass would be over-powering but the equalizer pre-settings have several options that tame the bass nicely. Nice.
I love this stereo. The bass is amazing. I haven't used it as surround sound yet, but I'd assume it will do pretty well. The sound quality is excellent, and I love that it has a wake up feature which allows it to act like an alarm clock. Two big thumbs up!

I Love It!
It is DEFINITELY worth the money. It works beautifully, and the sound is excellent. I purchased it for my Stepdaughter. She is autistic, and lives in a group home. As soon as one of the caregivers checked it out, she came back the next week with money in her hand, and had me order one exactly like it for her home. She loves it too. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Excellent, crisp clean sound
With a budget of $300, I shopped around for minisystems, listening to products from Panasonic, JVC, and Sony. Panasonic systems tend to have a muffled sound. I quickly ruled them out. The JVC GT88 has a slightly tinny sound, but the JVC Z10 is better and has excellent bass. However, this Sony really has the best overall sound. JVC just had good bass - the sound from above seemed to get lost. ...

Well made bag
This bag is well made and can hold an enormous amount of books, etc. My only complaint is that the wheels should be larger as the bottom of the bags drags on the ground when the bag is fully packed. I am going to have to replace this bag sooner than I would have liked. Needs a firmer bottom and larger wheels.
