I have 2 of these drives. They are very quiet, sturdy and fast. Pros: 1. 5400 RPM and 8MB Buffer 2. Compact, Looks sturdy as supposed to delicate on few compact drives 3. Good Backup Software 4. We have 3 computers each computer has its own folder in the Maxtor HD, about once a week we just copy-paste the "My documents" folder in the hard drive and we're done. We have had it for 5 months.
