Works a Treat with my TV
Apple has not updated the lowly Mini in quite awhile and if everything I read online is true, it looks like they're never going to. Lots of people think they might be dropping it. I think that would be a big mistake. They should drop their silly Apple TV instead and keep this baby in their line up, because it's a solid performer. Well, not solid as a desktop computer, I wouldn't say that, but ...

Excellent port expander
This item does exactly what it is supposed to: provides more USB and Firewire ports, both on the rear and front of the device. It just works. I have not attempted to test speeds, but all port seem to operate as well as the built-in ones.

Great!
This is a perfect little enclosure. Does exactly what it's supposed to do and has the bonus of the USB hub. I personally have not experienced much in the way of excessive noise from this unit but it operates in a home office with other USB drives and the regular background noise from my Dell PC. It was a winner for me. I bought two and have had them in service, no problems for over a year.

another great product from acondata
This is my 2nd external hard drive from acomdata. The first one is the 320 gig hard drive. I found this at my local electronics store for 99.99. When I got it home I hooked it up to my laptop running xp via usb. It did not recognize. So I was going to take it back. I was reading some reviews on this. It seems the only way to get your pc to recognize it is via fire wire. The usb connection is for ...

very satisfied
I considered this item for several months. I have a Mac mini, the computer for which this item was designed. I have a couple of printers and a scanner that I am constantly having to swap out and I like to keep my iPod dock connected to make that convenient to sync up. Also, I like to transfer files frequently with a USB thumbdrive. Also, I considered the firewire version which offered ...

Not Bad, Not Perfect
I purchased my mini pal about 8 months ago. Overall I have been satisfied with it. It looks good, quiet enough and faster than my mac mini's internal hd. I was able to partition the drive into two. One partition is bootable with os 10.4. The other is used for backup/extra storage. Negatives would be it has a somewhat annoying blue/red light which really doesn't need to be that large. ...

Noisy, but full of features
I love lacie stuff. I replaced my lacie 250gb porsche with this 500gb to stack under my Mac Mini at work. I'm glad it's not home at my music studio, because it's way too noisy. Not horrible, but a constant hum that wasn't there before. At home I stack two 250gbs under my Mini and they are silent. I am considering returning it, but I like the usb and firewire ports, the design, and it's half a ...

MiniMax 500 GB Ext. Hard Drive -Good Buy
I read the reviews prior to purchasing this hard drive, which is my first one. Jaguar immediately opened a prompt to format the MiniMax 500 GB ext. drive. I clicked okay. The formating took place immediately and my files are working perfectly. I was concerned about the review that stated that the drive was noisy. I heard a humming sound the first few days that it was running. But the humming was ...

You'd think Apple made it.
Recognized by my system right away. Plugging into firewire port and stacked beneath my Mac Mini, Timemachine automatically recognized it and offered to backup. Perfect match for my media center.

Nice!
Gave it 4 stars because it's a tad small with only 250 gigs.... they really need to kick these up to at least twice that as an entry level model. Gotta' admit it works like a charm, tho. Plenty of USB ports is great, and it matches the minimac perfectly. I'd prefer the brand name on the front to be smaller, but at least it's greyed out so it's not at all obnoxious. Does the job well ...
