Decent noise cancelling
I bought these for the noise cancelling and I am very pleased with them for the price. It allows me to hear voices clearly and at normal volume but cancels out all the hums, buzzes, etc. that come from fans, flourescent lights, etc.

Unbelievable Durability
I purchased a pair of these on a lark 2 years before the date of this review. The sound quality overall is on par with the Bose IE Tri-Ports and consistently better than the advanced Sony models I've had or tried. The only definitely better headphones I tried were my friend's E3c's, and they were only supreme in their fit, which corresponds to the price difference. In other words, the lesser ...

My decision to go with the QC 3 instead of QC2 (or another brand entirely)
Just bought my QC3 yesterday and wanted to share my thought process. For starters, I'm an average consumer. No specially trained ear and not using it for studio purposes. I care about quality, sound and look. I live in NYC and the noise from the subway, traffic and city life were enough for me to buy a pair of noise cancelling headphones. Went with Bose because they are a premier name and brand. ...

An older version but works just as good
This is my 2nd Sennheiser PC151. I had the first one for almost 2 years and it worked perfectly regardless of how many times I dropped it or tripped on the cord. I moved recently and left mine behind. I thought my little laptop headset would cut-it but it doesnt compare to my old Sennheiser PC151. Theres a newer version out but I never given how I never had any problems with this one - might as ...

Better Than Expected
I purchased these headphones for use in an office environment. I work in a sea of cubicles and I was hoping these would help tune out the noise. These headphones do such a great job. I don't hear anything anymore (I even miss phone calls sometimes). I have coworkers that own the Bose equivalent headphones, and I had them try these on and they were wowed. The consensus around the office was ...

I have owned Bose Brookstone and various other head phones. The Sennheiser for the price far outperform any I have owned. They are the most comfortable head set I have ever owned and the sound quality is superb.

Awesome headset, A+++++
I had this headset before, but it got broken accidentally. Bought for the second time and am very happy with it. Especially good for traveling on the plane, cancels a lot of noise.

Don't fly without it
This was my first set of noise-cancelling headphones, and I must say, the difference is astounding. Yes, the sound is good - yes, they're portable - yes, they have use-extending adapters, but the real difference is how you feel when you get off the plane. I find myself much more relaxed, particularly after a long flight, when using these headphones. I've forgotten to bring them along on ...

An outstanding value
I have been using these headphones for several weeks now and they significantly reduce outside noise. I previously had a pair of Phillips which claim 70% reduction and they were essentially worthless. These are an outstanding value. I followed the advice of one of the previous reviewers who had tried the much more expensive Bose and found these just as good. I am very glad I followed the ...

Best By Far
The short and sweet of it is that I have owned Shure E2C's, Bose TriPort, Bose QC2's, and Shure E4C's. The newer SE420's give you deep, rich sound without overwhelming base or blocking out the highs. Search around for an authorized dealer to get the best rate and you can snag an authentic pair for about $250...much lower than the $400 retail on Shure's site. The combination of the two separate ...

These must be remanufactured
They don't make this anymore and the warranty from the manufacturer is no good, I know, I had to replace the cable that goes into the jack because I misplaced it, and the manufacturer informed me that they no longer made or warranty these headphones. I was lucky to find the cable. On the other hand, these are great and the sound could be better than the similar style BOSE. I find them very ...

Great Headphone but can still hear some noises
Works great but not nearly as good as the BOSE quality one, but I guess you get what you pay for. Blocks out the very loud noise but not to the mute level.

DA bomb!!!!
I own them both now, the ANC7 Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7 QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling Headphones(over the ear) and the ANC3 (in-ear) and the in-ear ones ROCK! -The skinny head audio jack fits iphone perfectly without the need for an adapter -They are so small and save precious space in my backpack on these long flights. specially since I pack light, free space is important to me. -runs ...

Good value, one design flaw
As another reviewer has commented, these reduce noise, they don't eliminate it. If you need something portable when commuting, they fit the bill. They aren't particularly heavy, and the sound is better than the average set of earbuds. One minor gripe about them. You need a AAA battery to use the noise reduction feature, and you MUST remember to turn off the power switch for the noise ...

4 Stars for the price
Sony Mdr-Nc40 Noise Canceling Headphone (Black) As long time audiophile (30 years) I still find digital fiddling with music a little disconcerting, but these headphones do the job at the price point intended. Even though advertised "iPhone compatible" I was worried until the jack fit perfectly in the iPhone, a problem to date. While some may scoff, I have never heard a set of speakers or ...

3?!?!? Come on...the 420 rocks!!!
I purchased a $5 pair of generic headphones for my trip to Seattle as I had left my Bang and Olufson earbuds in the wash the night before (not the first time, but I one of the drivers was tragically ruined this time around.) Of course I was saddened to be brought back into the world of the common person's music experience. I had raved about the B&O's for so long, and now, they were gone!!! :( ...

Fast delivery, great service
The delivery was quick and the service great. The product itself was brand new so there was no quality issue. The problem was my failure to do proper research. The microphone records in mono only, (not stereo). In addition, the quality was no better than using the DVR without the microphone. Maybe if I was farther away or in a bigger room it may be of some benefit. In any case, the money ...

Best NC headphones on the market
I compared these headphones side-by-side with five other noise cancelling headphones: Bose QC2 & 3, JVC NC250, Audio Technica ANC7, and Sennheiser PXC-250. I was in the market for a noise cancelling headphone because I travel a lot and I wanted to be able to watch movies or listen to music in relative isolation. With the ipod earbuds, you have to blast your ears in order to compete with the ...
