Unlike most builders, I was looking for a smaller drive to hold only the OS, while using larger drives for data. This was about twice the size I wanted, but provided the best cost per Gig balanced against the storage needs. I prefer to install the OS on a stand alone drive so when ( I never say if) there is a problem requiring a reload, all my data lives safely somewhere else.

XP Install is a BREEZE!
I just got this drive in 60GB. I had some problems with Maxtor and Windows XP -- so I jumped ship and bought the Western Digital becuase it had the "Designed for Windows XP" label. This drive was very easy to put in the computer. My HP found it immediately, and it sort of installed by itself. It wasn't showing up but I didn't switch the jumper for it to be a slave drive :P.
