Very Pleased
We bought this console because we have so many DVDS. It is very attractive; it is also sturdy and serves as the stand for our large screen TV. In fact, we have debated whether or not to purchase another console for my sons who have admired it. Be advised that the console needs extensive assembly--my husband got it assembled in about an hour and a half.

THE PRODUCT WAS VERY GOOD BUT CAME IN WITH SOME SCRATCHES. THE DELIVERY WAS A MAJOR ADVENTURE. THE PRODUCT ARRIVED LATE AND THE BOX WAS IN EXTREMELY BAD SHAPE. A DAY AFTER THE DELIVERY ANOTHER TRUCK ARRIVED WITH THE SAME PRODUCT AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE BACK THE ITEM. I COMPLETELY LOST ANY FAITH AND CONFIDENCE IN AMAZON AND WILL NOT BUY FROM THE COMPANY AGAIN.

Can't Beat It!
I also own a Tivoli Model One. This Sangean far surpasses the Tivoli. The sound is mellow and clear. I really like the old fashioned vernier tuning dial. It's also illuminated. In a side by side test, the Sangean and Tivoli do great with FM reception, but on the AM side, the Sangean picks up WAY more AM stations. Just a cool little radio. For the price, you can't beat it.

Everything about this cabinet is top notch. It is solid wood throughout -no glued sawdust. There are five pieces of wood to put this together: The top, bottom, both sides, and center shelf. Wonderful Radio with Lighted Slide Tuning
Great Sound with a wonderful LIGHTED slide tuner dial. It's great to have a lighted dial that works and looks like they did in the old days. I own a GE Super Radio (no lighted dial), a Bose Wave, a ccRadio Plus and three other various Sonys and this sounds better than any of them. Give me this radio and the GE for portability and I'm set. I finally found the radio I've been looking for!

It is not made of wood.
This cabinet is made of a very cheap version of particle board covered by thin paper veneer. It is a total piece of junk. The shelves are not designed to take mixed media. I would not recommend this cabinet to my worst enemy.

OK BUT HAVE GOOD TOOLS & PATIENCE!
My only complaint about this unit is that the doors are a little difficult to line up. The door hinge screws are real small and the holes that you screw them into are kind of tight. I used a small, phillip-end, jeweler's screw driver, but I also ended up reaming the hole with a small drill bit so that the screw can go in easier.
